Five members of the same Arab-Israeli family have been charged with setting up an Islamic State (ISIS) terror cell with the intent to carry out terror attacks inside Israel, it was cleared for publication Tuesday.

According to the Israel Security Agency (ISA), the five terrorists – who are all from the northern Israeli town of Nazareth – exchanged Facebook messages extolling ISIS’s jihadist ideology, trained with weapons and planned to wage a terrorist campaign inside the Jewish state.

None of them had any plans to travel to Syria or Iraq, investigators said. The revelation comes just one day after senior Israeli security sources estimated that an ISIS terror attack inside Israel was only a matter of time.

The five were identified as Abd al Karim Ihab abd al Rahman Sliman (22), Mahmoud Ihab abd al Rahman Sliman (18), Abd al Karim Jamal Ali Sliman (23), Mohammed Salah Mohammed Sliman (19), and Murad Mohammed Salim Sliman (27).

From the ISA investigation it became clear that during the last year, the five worked to obtain weapons and even trained in using during repeated meetings. In the meetings they expressed support for ISIS and praised the concept of jihad against the “infidels.”

During their investigation, they gave over two rifles that they used for sporadic target practice at Hursha, located adjacent to Nazareth. One rifle was of the SKS model, while the other was a Carl Gustav variety.

ISA noted that during September 2014, the defense minister declared ISIS an illegal association, and one-and-a-half months ago the government of Israel declared ISIS a terrorist organization.

Indictments have been filed against the members of the terror cell by the northern district attorney’s office at the Nazareth District Court.

While only a few dozen Israeli Arabs are known to have traveled to Syria to join ISIS – far lower than the numbers from surrounding Middle Eastern countries, or even in Europe – a growing number of ISIS cells have been broken up by security forces, indicating a growing threat from the jihadist group.

Most such cells – including one broken up just last month – focus on recruiting fighters to travel out of Israel to ISIS’s “Caliphate.” However, a growing number of ISIS terror plots inside Israeli borders have been uncovered in recent month, including a cell which planned an attack on an IDF base in northern Israel.

Op-Ed: Post San Bernardino — How stupid are we supposed to be?

Op-Ed: Post San Bernardino — How stupid are we supposed to be? Israel National News, Jack Engelhard, December 7, 2015

A house filled with some 2,000 rounds of ammunition and nobody saw nothin’. Zip.

The place was crawling with a massive arsenal of weapons that likely filled the garage to the kitchen sink — but who, me?

Nothing. Looked pretty normal, say relatives, friends, acquaintances and anybody who visited a house that was stockpiled for mass destruction.

Even people who lived in and around the house – WHAT? We saw nothing unusual.

They had to step over and around a mountain of Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) to get from the living room to the bathroom, but nobody winced?

Nobody asked – “Yo, Syed, what’s this?”

That’s what we are supposed to believe. Nobody else but those two had a hand in the murder of 14 innocents in San Bernardino.

Accomplices? Zero. So they say and so we are expected to believe.

Mr. Obama spoke to us a few moments ago. Finally called it terrorism, though not Islamic terrorism. For us to guess.

He announced that he is taking the fight to ISIS. We should feel safe. Except that ISIS, or ISIL, as he calls it, is one problem.

Worse is the local, the unaffiliated but radicalized freelancer who comes from within our own neighborhood.

We know where ISIS lives. But for the introvert, the retail operator we have no address until it’s too late. Case in point, San Bernardino.

We are not at war with Islam, said the president, so no wonder people who knew the Farooks were shocked…shocked!

Typical Americans, say people who knew them.

Quiet. Unassuming. Friendly. Hard-working, Doting father. Loving mother. Played Scrabble. How do you spell jihad? Capital J?

There were no clues. Nope. Nothing to suggest a husband and wife radicalized to the hilt and armed to the teeth.

“They lived the American dream,” said a neighbor, who likewise saw nothing, knew nothing, suspected nothing. Nothing at all.

Golly, he was born here, good old Syed. What more do you want? Wife came from Pakistan. Wonderful country, Pakistan.

So what if, as rumor has it, he hated Jews and maybe Christians. Doesn’t everybody? A regular Joe, Syed.

She kept to herself, did Tashfeen. All agree to this. Typical American wifey in a hijab. Most likely clipped coupons to save on milk and explosives.

“They were the perfect couple,” say people who knew them as the perfect couple.

Too bad it had to end like this. Obviously it was our fault. Global warming.

So the president assures us that he is keeping us safe.

Ban Radical Islamists and those Syrian migrants from entering the country and we’ll start believing.

An air strike believed to have been carried out by the U.S.-led coalition killed four Syrian military personnel in Deir al Zor province, which is mostly held by Daesh, a monitoring group said on Monday, in what would be the first time coalition warplanes had hit Syrian government forces.

A source close to the Syrian government confirmed the strike and said there had been casualties and vehicles destroyed.

Syria Foreign Ministry said that four jets from U.S.-led coalition targeted Syrian army camp with nine missiles, killing three soldiers, wounding 13 on Sunday, Reuters reported.

Meanwhile, the US-led coalition denied the allegations saying its planes carried out air strikes that killed at least three Syrian regime troops.

“We’ve seen those Syrian reports but we did not conduct any strikes in that part of Deir Ezzor yesterday. So we see no evidence,” said Colonel Steve Warren, spokesman for the coalition.

He said the coalition’s only strikes in Deir Ezzor on Sunday were some 55 kilometres (34 miles) southeast of the area where the troops were allegedly killed, near the town of Ayyash.

“We struck 55 km away from the area that the Syrians say was struck. That was the only area in Deir Ezzor we struck yesterday,” he told AFP.

“There were no human beings in the area that we struck yesterday, all we struck was a wellhead,” he added.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the strike hit part of the Saeqa military camp near the town of Ayyash in western Deir al Zor province and wounded 13 military personnel in the first such incident since the coalition began its bombing campaign against Daesh in Syria.

The strike had hit some time in the last 24 hours, it said.

The U.S.-led force’s campaign is against Daesh, which controls most of Deir al Zor, including its capital, and has regularly targeted the group in the eastern Syrian province.

In Deir al Zor city, another air strike believed to be carried out by the coalition overnight killed a woman and two of her children, the Observatory said.

Deir al Zor province links Daesh’s de facto capital in Raqqa with territory controlled by the group in Iraq, and its oilfields are a major source of revenue for the group.

Breaking down Obama’s gun control terror denial speech

Barack Hussein Obama II will stop striding around golf courses, Disneyland, pricey restaurants and assorted other photo ops long enough to sit down in the Oval Office and deliver a speech denying responsibility for the latest act of Muslim terror, denying that Muslim terrorism exists and demanding the abolition of the Bill of Rights.

It will predictably break down as

1. Muslims are Awesome – The Muslim community is our greatest resource for fighting terrorism, we need more of them, including tens of thousands of Syrian “refugees” (13% of whom poll in support of ISIS), to make us that more able to fight the “Un-Islamic” terrorism of Muslims. Anyone who disagrees loves terrorists and probably Hitler and discount cheese sandwiches.

2. Fear – We need to stop being afraid of Muslim terrorists because Obama has everything under control. ISIS is contained, except when it’s murdering Americans and Europeans, and expanding around the world. Muslim terrorism has nothing to do with Islam. Our greatest enemy is fear of Muslim terrorism which we can only combat with hefty doses of denial.

3. Gun Control – We need to give up our civil liberties to fight these un-Islamic terrorists (who have hijacked a great religion and flown into two skyscrapers and the Pentagon). It’s time for “common sense reforms” to outlaw the Second Amendment. Also we should bring Muslim terrorists to America, but deny 2nd amendment rights to anyone on a no-fly list… without actually deporting them.

Did I mention that these are “common sense reforms” that most “ordinary folks” like Washington D.C. lobbyists and Michael Bloomberg support?

4. Not Who We Are – Fighting Muslim terrorism is not “who we are”. We are more like the Swedes. We fill our country with Muslims who want to kill us and then double down on it after the latest attacks. Because these are our new “values”. We aren’t “afraid” of Muslim terrorists. That’s why we just stick our heads in the sand and double down on the same terror policies. We could change them, but that would not be who, Obama claims, “we are”.

Who are we? We are people who commit mass suicide. Who invite our enemies to kill us and then blame ourselves for offending them. That is Obama’s version of who we are.

5. Personal Stories – Pete from Cleveland is standing outside a mosque with a Nerf gun to guard it against imaginary hate crimes. Ahmed is fighting extremism in his mosque while shouting Allahu Akbar at Hamas rallies. Mohammed is sitting in the White House tweeting against ISIS and in support of the Muslim Brotherhood. Together they’ll defeat ISIS or America. Or something.

6. Someday We’ll Beat ISIS – Okay probably not today or tomorrow. But we have some of our best minds on it. And we’re making gains. Our policy of not really fighting ISIS is supported by political appointees like random Pentagon general and local police chief who attends mosque dinners. Go back to shopping at Whole Foods without fear. Obama has this covered. Right before his next vacation.

My Fellow Muslims Americans, we live in difficult times. We must wrestle constantly with blasphemous, and therefore false, Islamophobic assertions such as that devout Muslims slaughtered innocents in Paris and more recently in California. I shall continue to pursue with all possible vigor the perpetrators of such Islamophobic speech and thought, which I recently declared felony-grade hate crimes.

Sadly, many innocents who shouldn’t be dead now are. [Rub eyes with handkerchief to feign grief.] However, assertions that they were killed by devout Muslims have no basis in fact or logic. We need common sense gun control, not Muslim control, because those innocents were murdered by guns, not by Muslims.

Unlike Muslims, Guns have minds of their own and usually act without regard to what their owners want. I have had substantial personal experience with guns, having tried to fire one several times. They always refuse to send the bullets where I want them to go. Here’s a recent photo.

Back-Fire

If the gun I was holding had been as obedient as gun fanatics claim, it would have known that I wanted the bullet to go away from Me, not toward Me; it would not have pointed itself at Me. Only the hasty intervention of My Sober Sacred Service agents saved Me.

As some of you may have heard, the folks who held the wicked guns which killed innocent civilians in California have been linked to the so-called Islamic State, which is neither Islamic nor a state. As I have often told you, it has nothing whatever to do with Islam, the religion of peace, truth, human rights (particularly female rights) and tolerance. Indeed, the high regard of Islam for human rights was recently made perfectly clear by the selection of Saudi Arabia to lead the UN Human Rights Council. I can think of no greater, higher or better-deserved honor, with the sole exception of My own Nobel Peace Prize.

The link between ISIS and those who held the wicked guns in California proves My point: Unlike Saudi Arabia and the Islamic State Republic of Iran, ISIS has nothing whatever to do with Islam; therefore, neither did those deluded killers. It’s as simple as that!

Today we begin our Great Leap Forward, ever confident that we shall overcome Climate Change, the most effective enabler of the Non-Islamic Islamic State, and along with it such terrorist organizations as the National Murder Rifle Association and its vile Republican co-conspirators. I shall lead the way as always, with determination and confident in the knowledge that you, My Fellow Travelers Americans are, and will continue to be, with Me on this road all the way to the bitter end.

Iraq Could Ask Russia for Help After ‘Invasion’ by Turkish Forces

The head of Iraq’s parliamentary committee on security and defense, Hakim al-Zamili, in an interview with Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, said that Baghdad could turn to Moscow for help after Turkey had allegedly breached Iraq’s sovereignty.

Numerous reports suggest that on Friday Turkey sent approximately 130 soldiers to norther Iraq. Turkish forces, deployed near the city of Mosul, are allegedly tasked with training Peshmerga, which has been involved in the fight against Daesh, also known as ISIL.On Saturday, Baghdad described the move as “a serious violation of Iraqi sovereignty,” since it had not been authorized by Iraqi authorities.

“We may soon ask Russia for direct military intervention in Iraq in response to the Turkish invasion and the violation of Iraqi sovereignty,” Iraqi lawmaker al-Zamili said.

Earlier, Hakim al-Zamili threatened Turkey with a military operation if the Turkish soldiers do not leave Iraq immediately. The parliamentarian reiterated that Turkey sent troops into Iraqi territory without notifying the government.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Abadi urged Ankara to immediately pull out its forces, including tanks and artillery, from the Nineveh province. Iraqi President Fuad Masum referred to the incident as a violation of international law and urged Ankara to refrain from similar activities in the future, al-Sumaria TV Channel reported.

hamas is isis

Hamas in America is CAIR, MSA, and ISNA. Is it any wonder they are covering for the San Bernardino jihadis?

ISIS commander meets with Hamas in Gaza, Washington Times, December 5, 2015:
Shadi al-Menei, the commander of ISIS in the Sinai, is meeting with Hamas leaders in the Gaza Strip to discuss ways that the terrorist groups can increase cooperation and coordinate attacks. There has been conflict between Sunni jihadis and Hamas previously in the Israeli territories of the West Bank and Gaza, as Islamic radicals want to continue to provoke Israel to attack, and Hamas has been more cautious. Now it seems those gloves are off and the two will be working together.

shadi menei

The Times of Israel reports Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s observation in his 2014 speech to the U.N. General Assembly “that ISIS and Hamas are branches of the same poisonous tree,” seems to be ringing true.

The paper reports that Hamas and ISIS are also discussing ways to increase arms smuggling in the area, including anti-tank rockets that the Sunni terror group has used to attack Israeli and Egyptian positions, including tanks and aircraft. The global coordination of terror organizations makes the danger to Western civilization all the more real.

In July, an Israeli general confirmed that the Israeli Defense Forces had “clear information” that Hamas was assisting ISIS in the Sinai, including through logistical support and arms smuggling. If Hamas can assist in the Sinai, it can assist bringing arms into the United States or Europe. The European and pacifist Left in the United States are dangerously flirting with disaster.

Removing Assad ‘not necessary’ before political transition in Syria – French FM

A crack in the NATO wall ?

France has changed its hardline stance on the government in Damascus, with Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius saying he no longer believes that Syrian President Bashar Assad necessarily has to step down before a political transition takes place in the war-torn country.

“The fight against Daesh [Islamic State, or ISIS/ISIL] is crucial but it will only be totally effective if all the Syrian and regional forces are united,” Fabius told the French regional newspaper Le Progres.

This marks an apparent shift of priorities by France to tackling Islamic State, which staged a series of attacks on the French capital last month, killing 130 and injuring 352 others. Until recently, Paris echoed Washington in saying that Assad’s resignation is key to any political solution to the four-year Syrian conflict. Paris has repeatedly insisted on the removal of the Syrian president describing him as a “butcher” of his own people.

Paris now seems to accept that the Syrian army has to play a role in the fight against ISIS. “The operations must be led by local forces: moderate Syrian, Arab, Kurdish, and if necessary, in coordination with the Syrian army, which is impossible without a political transition,” Fabius told Le Progres, explaining that “the experience of the recent decades, whether it is in Iraq or in Afghanistan, shows that Western forces on the ground quickly appear like occupation forces.”

Fabius did insist, however, that eventually Assad must go.

“A united Syria implies a political transition. That does not mean that Bashar al-Assad must leave even before the transition, but there must be assurances for the future,” he added.

Even so, the comments mark a sudden but clear softening of Paris’ position toward the Syrian president. Just earlier this week, French FM stated that working with the Syrian army to fight ISIS is not possible until Assad has been removed from power.

“If we achieve a political transition and it’s no longer Bashar in charge of the Syrian army, there could be joint actions against terrorism. But under Bashar it’s not possible,” Fabius told France Inter radio, speaking at the UN climate conference in Le Berget.

“It is obvious that it’s not under the leadership of Mr Assad that the army could be engaged alongside the moderate opposition,” he added on Monday.

On a trip to Washington last week, French President Francois Hollande said Assad “cannot be the future of Syria,” saying he must resign “as soon as possible” to halt civil war in the country.

Meanwhile US President Barack Obama told a news conference on Tuesday that ceasefires may soon be established in some parts of Syria, following the achievements in the Vienna negotiations by US Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

“What can happen is if the political process that John Kerry has so meticulously stitched together, in concert with Foreign Minister Lavrov of Russia, if that works in Vienna, then it’s possible given the existing accord that the parties have already agreed to, that we start seeing at least pockets of ceasefires in and around Syria,” Obama told reporters before leaving the global climate summit in Paris.

The US president also repeated his assertion that that Russia is welcome to join the US-led anti-ISIS coalition, on condition that it stops supporting the Syrian government.

But he added: “I don’t expect you’re going to see a 180 [degree] turn on [Russia’s] strategy over the next several weeks.”

Turkish military to have a base in Iraq’s Mosul

This still image taken from a video shared on the social media reportedly shows Turkish tanks being deployed to Mosul’s Bashiqa region.

Turkey will have a permanent military base in the Bashiqa region of Mosul as the Turkish forces in the region training the Peshmerga forces have been reinforced, Hürriyet reported.

The deal regarding the base was signed between Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Massoud Barzani and Turkish Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioğlu, during the latter’s visit to northern Iraq on Nov. 4.

At least 150 Turkish soldiers, accompanied by 20-25 tanks, were deployed to the area by land late on Dec. 4, Anadolu Agency reported.

Turkish army sources told Anadolu Agency on Dec. 5 that they had been training fighters across four provinces in northern Iraq to fight ISIL.

According to the military, the Peshmerga forces have been trained for fighting with homemade explosives, heavy machine guns, mortars, artillery and also received first-aid training.

More than 2,500 Peshmerga, including high-ranking officers, have attended the Turkish training, the military added.

The KRG’s deputy Peshmerga minister, Major General Karaman Kemal Omar, said that the training given by Turkish soldiers made a huge contribution to an operation by Iraqi Kurdish forces to retake Sinjar district from ISIL on Nov. 12.

Sinjar is a town located 120 kilometers west of Mosul with an Ezidi majority. It fell to ISIL in August 2014.

For more than two years, Turkey has had a group of soldiers in Bashiqa, located 32 kilometers north of Mosul, which is under Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) control. The soldiers have been training the Peshmerga forces and other anti-ISIL groups.

Some 150 Turkish soldiers and 20 tanks were deployed to the base to take over the mission from the 90 soldiers who have been in the region for two years.

With the increased number of Turkish soldiers deployed to the base, an increase is expected in the number of militia trained.

ISIL militants overran Mosul, a city of more than one million people, in June 2014, but a much anticipated counter-offensive by Iraqi forces has been repeatedly postponed because they are involved in fighting elsewhere.

A statement from the Iraqi prime minister’s media office confirmed that Turkish troops numbering “around one armed battalion with a number of tanks and cannons” had entered its territory near Mosul without request or permission from Baghdad authorities. It called on the forces to leave immediately.

In a separate statement flashed on state TV, the Iraqi foreign ministry called the Turkish activity “an incursion” and rejected any military operation that was not coordinated with the federal government, Reuters reported.

In Washington, two U.S. defense officials said that the United States was aware of Turkey’s deployment of hundreds of Turkish soldiers to northern Iraq but that the move is not part of the U.S.-led coalition’s activities.

Another senior Turkish official told Reuters the soldiers in the region were there to train the Peshmerga forces.

“This is part of the fight against Daesh [ISIL],” he said, adding that there were around 20 armored vehicles accompanying them as protection.
