Europe’s Childless Leaders Sleepwalking Us to Disaster

Europe’s Childless Leaders Sleepwalking Us to Disaster, Gatestone InstituteGiulio Meotti, May 6, 2017

As Europe’s leaders have no children, they seem have no reason to worry about the future of their continent.

“Europe today has little desire to reproduce itself, fight for itself or even take its own side in an argument”. — Douglas Murray, The Times.

“‘Finding ourselves’ becomes more important than building a world.” — Joshua Mitchell.

There have never been so many childless politicians leading Europe as today. They are modern, open minded and multicultural and they know that “everything finishes with them”. In the short term, being childless is a relief since it means no spending for families, no sacrifices and that no one complains about the future consequences. As in a research report financed by the European Union: “No kids, no problem!“.

Being a mother or a father, however, means that you have a very real stake in the future of the country you lead. Europe’s most important leaders leave no children behind.

Europe’s most important leaders are all childless: British PM Theresa May, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte and the French presidential hopeful Emmanuel Macron. The list continues with Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven, Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Scottish Prime Minister Nicola Sturgeon.

As Europe’s leaders have no children, they seem have no reason to worry about the future of their continent. German philosopher Rüdiger Safranski wrote:

“for the childless, thinking in terms of the generations to come loses relevance. Therefore, they behave more and more as if they were the last and see themselves as standing at the end of the chain”.

“Europe is committing suicide. Or at least its leaders have decided to commit suicide”, wrote Douglas Murray in The Times. “Europe today has little desire to reproduce itself, fight for itself or even take its own side in an argument”. Murray, in his new book, entitled The Strange Death of Europe, called it “an existential civilisational tiredness”.

Angela Merkel made the fatal decision to open the doors of Germany to one million and half migrants to stop the demographic winter of her country. It is not a coincidence that Merkel, who has no children, has been called “the compassionate mother” of migrants. Merkel evidently did not care if the massive influx of these migrants would change German society, probably forever.

Dennis Sewell recently wrote in the Catholic Herald:

“It is that idea of ‘Western civilisation’ that greatly complicates the demographic panic. Without it, the answer would be simple: Europe has no need to worry about finding young people to support its elderly in their declining years. There are plenty of young migrants banging at the gates, trying to climb the razor wire or setting sail on flimsy boats to reach our shores. All we need to do is let them in”.

Merkel’s childless status mirrors German society: 30% of German women have not had children, according to European Union statistics, with the figure rising among female university graduates to 40%. Germany’s Minister of Defense, Ursula von der Leyen, said that unless the birth rate picked up, the country would have to “turn the lights out“.

According to a new study published by the Institut national d’études démographiques, a quarter of European women born in the 1970s may remain childless. Europe’s leaders are no different. One in nine women born in England and Wales in 1940 were childless at the age of 45, compared to one in five of those born in 1967.

French politician Emmanuel Macron has rejected French President François Hollande’s assertion that, “France has a problem with Islam”. He is against suspending the citizenship of jihadists, and keeps insisting, against all evidence, that Islamic State is not Islamic: “What poses a problem is not Islam, but certain behaviours that are said to be religious and then imposed on persons who practice that religion”.

Macron preaches a sort of multicultural buffet. He speaks of colonialism as a “crime against humanity“. He is in favor of “open borders“, and for him, again against all evidence to the contrary, there is no “French culture”.

According to philosopher Mathieu Bock-Coté, the 39-year-old Macron, who is married to his 64-year-old former teacher, is the symbol of a “happy globalization freed of the memory of the French lost glory”. It is not a coincidence that “Manif Pour Tous,” a movement that fought the legalization gay marriage in France, urged voting against Macron as the “anti-family candidate“. Macron’s slogan, “En Marche!” (“Forward!”), embodies the globalized élites who reduce politics to an exercise, a performance.

That is why Turkish leader Erdogan urged Muslims to have “five children” and Islamic imams are urging the faithful to “breed children“: to conquer Europe. Islamic supremacists are busily building a clash of civilizations in Europe’s midst, and they depict their Western host countries collapsing: without population, without values, and abandoning their own culture.

If you look at Merkel, May, Macron and others, are these Islamic supremacists so wrong? Our European leaders are sleepwalking us to disaster. Why should they care, if at the end of their lifespans Europe will not be Europe? As Joshua Mitchell explained in an essay, “‘finding ourselves’ becomes more important than building a world. The long chain of generations has already done that for us. Now let us play”.

Designating Women as ‘Means of Pleasure’ A Zionist Plot: Leader

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said labeling women as “goods and tool of pleasure” in the West is possibly a Zionist plot aimed at destroying the human society.

Hazrat Fatimah’s character and conduct, as a true leader and also an exemplary spouse and mother, provides a “perfect role model for Muslim women”, the Leader said on Sunday addressing panegyrists on Prophet’s Household on the occasion of birthday anniversary of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (SA), the daughter of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

With a grandeur and stature beyond human’s understanding and imagination, yet one of Hazrat Zahra’s roles was being a “mother, wife and housewife”, he added.

Ayatollah Khamenei further said some unaware deceived people humiliate housewives, while it means raising humans and producing the highest product in the universe, i.e. the human being.

“Designating women as goods and means of pleasure in the western world, most probably, is among Zionists’ plots to destroy human community,” the Leader stressed.

Imam Khamenei has repeatedly in various occasions attached great importance to the status of women in society and family.

Back in 2011, the Leader said in a speech that the Islamic system must do more to fully revive the genuine, Islamic status of women.

Ayatollah Khamenei said problems of the world today stemmed largely from the west’s wrong attitude towards the status of women in society and family and that the wrong attitude has triggered a crisis.

The west has established an unfair equation in society under which the men are the beneficiary and the women are the benefit, and based on the equation, the women must act in such ways as to satisfy the beneficiary, he said, adding, “This is the most immense oppression ever against women”.

ANKARA (AFP) – President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday urged Turks resident in Europe to have five children, telling the millions strong diaspora community “you are Europe’s future.”

Turkey and Europe are locked in a bitter spat after Germany and the Netherlands blocked Turkish ministers from holding rallies to campaign for a ‘yes’ vote in next month’s referendum on expanding Erdogan’s powers.

Erdogan has repeatedly accused EU states of behaving like Nazi Germany over what he sees as discrimination against Turks, in comments that have caused outrage across the continent.

“From here I say to my citizens, I say to my brothers and sisters in Europe… Educate your children at better schools, make sure your family live in better areas, drive in the best cars, live in the best houses,” said Erdogan.

“Have five children, not three. You are Europe’s future.”

“This is the best answer to the rudeness shown to you, the enmity, the wrongs,” he added in a televised speech in the city of Eskisehir, south of Istanbul.

Some 2.5 million Turkish citizens resident in Europe are eligible to vote in elections in their homeland. But millions more people living in EU states have Turkish origins.

Erdogan, a father of four, has previously urged women in Turkey to have at least three children to help boost the population, in comments denounced by women’s rights activists.

King: “we can’t restore our civilisation with someone else’s babies”

King: “we can’t restore our civilisation with someone else’s babies”, Jihad Watch

Senior Republican congressman Steve King has sparked a backlash on social media after tweeting his support for the Dutch anti-Islam politician, Geert Wilders.

Wilders understands that culture and demographics are our destiny,” Mr King wrote on Twitter.

“We can’t restore our civilisation with somebody else’s babies.”

King clearly was not alluding to all visible minority immigrants when he referred to “someone else’s babies.” He was specifically pointing out the widely noted tactic of Islamic conquest via population growth. Years ago, the Daily Mail reported that Muslim leaders preached about taking over Britain “by having more babies and forcing a population explosion”; while 9-11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed “revealed that al Qaeda’s plan to kill the United States was not through military attacks but immigration and ‘outbreeding non-Muslims.’” An Imam — Sheikh Muhammad Ayed – also gave a speech at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem where “he told Muslim migrants to breed children’ with Europeans to conquer their countries and vows: ‘We will trample them underfoot, Allah willing.’”

Despite the recognized conquest through population plan, the BBC reported that:

Mr King’s comments in support of Mr Wilders on Sunday led to accusations that he was “openly peddling white nationalism”.

His post was retweeted by the former leader of the Ku Klux Klan, David Duke, with the words “sanity reigns supreme”

It was only a matter of time before the Ku Klux Klan reared its head in media reports about King’s statements: it is the mainstream media’s go-to group to discredit politically incorrect ideas. The BBC is trying to obscure the fact that outside of groups such as the KKK,  many of the concerns expressed about Muslim immigration by Geert Wilders (supported by King) are also widely held by peace-loving Westerners of all races. Meanwhile, the Independent put a malicious spin on King’s words in its article entitled: “Republican Steve King suggests Muslim children are stopping ‘our civilisation’ being restored.”

It is a pity that leftists seem to think that only Muslims represent all visible minority immigrants, as if brown people of other religions and cultures were non-existent. Any opposition to the incursion of Islam in the West has been set up by leftists as a race war between visible minority immigrants and white people. The truth is that critical concerns about Islamic supremacist and jihadist incursions into the West are shared by all who support free and pluralistic societies, including some Muslims.

Those who are affronted by King’s words seem indifferent to the fact that the Muslim Brotherhood’s “General Strategic Goal” for North America openly discusses the destruction of “Western civilization from within and “sabotaging” its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s [Allah’s] religion is made victorious over all other religions.” It is also apparently acceptable by the same to fling open the doors of immigration to usher in the hijrah (jihad via immigration) to colonize the West; and implement anti-Islamophobia stratagems ubiquitously, intended to forestall any criticism of Islam.

“Steve King: Geert Wilders tweet sparks a social media backlash”, BBC News, March 12, 2017:

Senior Republican congressman Steve King has sparked a backlash on social media after tweeting his support for the Dutch anti-Islam politician, Geert Wilders.

“Wilders understands that culture and demographics are our destiny,” Mr King wrote on Twitter.

“We can’t restore our civilisation with somebody else’s babies,” he added.

The US Republican Representative of Iowa is a strong advocate of putting a stop to birthright citizenship.

All children born in the US currently get citizenship under the constitution, including the children of families living in America illegally.

Mr King has pushed for radical reform of the interpretation of the 14th amendment of the US constitution so that it no longer gives the children of undocumented migrants the right to a US passport.

It seems Donald Trump is not the only politician who can bring social media to a screeching halt with an inflammatory tweet. Congressman Steve King has a history of walking on the edge of white nationalist rhetoric, and on Sunday afternoon he once again hit the hornet’s nest, perhaps in his most direct manner yet.

The outrage from Democratic politicians and commentators across the political spectrum was quick, ferocious and entirely expected. The bluntness of Mr King’s message, the talk of “our destiny” and “other people’s babies”, ensured a vigorous response.

Of greater interest will be how Republican officeholders handle the controversy. So far they have remained silent. That may be increasingly difficult, as this is yet another indication of the growing bonds between the Trump wing of the Republican Party and white nationalist movements in Europe.

Breitbart, the conservative media outlet recently headed by White House senior advisor Steve Bannon, often sings the praises of Mr Wilders, as well as France’s Marine Le Pen and Frauke Petry, leader of the Alternative for Germany Party.

Mr Bannon has predicted the coming of a new “alt-right” order that will disrupt politics across the West. The question is whether establishment Republicans stay along for the ride.

Mr King’s comments in support of Mr Wilders on Sunday led to accusations that he was “openly peddling white nationalism”.
