Toronto: Muslim teacher calls jihad terrorist who killed a 4-year-old Israeli girl a ‘hero’
ByPamela Geller on July 9, 2016

Nadia Shoufani is a former employee of UNRWA — the pro-Hamas, pro-jihad Jew-hating UN body that allows jihad and genocide to be preached in its schools. That speaks volumes. She is also a teacher for Special Education, ESL, Literacy and Science at Dufferin-Peel District School Board. Why hasn’t she been dismissed? She should be fired immediately.

“Toronto teacher calls a terrorist who killed a 4 year old Israeli girl a ‘hero’”, CiJNews, July 6, 2016:
Nadia Shoufani, a Toronto teacher, was one of the speakers at the annual pro Iranian Islamic Al-Quds Day Rally in Toronto which was held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 in solidarity with the Palestinian people and in support of the call of Iranian regime to oppose Zionism and Israel’s right to exist.
A graduate of the American University of Beirut and a former employee at UNRWA, Shoufani is a teacher for Special Education, ESL, Literacy and Science at Dufferin-Peel District School Board. “Ms. Shoufani” is mentioned as a SERT/ESL teacher at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School in Mississauga. Nadia Shoufani is also affiliated with the Palestine Solidarity Movement and Actions4Palestine and is a director at the Arab Canadian Cultural Association.
In her speech at AL-Quds Day rally, Shoufani expressed her support of the Palestinian struggle “in any form possible” to liberate “all Palestine”, meaning the destruction of the State of Israel. The following are excerpts from Shoufani’s speech accompanied with CIJnews comments:
Nadia Shoufani: “Yesterday [July 1, 2016] the Israeli occupation forces shot dead, executed a 27 year oldwoman, a pregnant woman, killing her. That means killing two, two people, the woman and her baby. Hercousin Mohammad 17 year old, was executed the day before.”
CIJnews: The Palestinian pregnant woman Sarah Tarairah who was shot dead while committing a stabbing attack in an attempt to kill an Israeli policeman. “Her cousin Mohammad” is Mohammad Tarairah who was killed by Israeli forces after her broke into a house and stabbed a 13-year-old American-Israeli girl to death while she was sleeping.
Nadia Shoufani: “I urge you not to be silent. I urge you to speak up, to resist this occupation and support the steadfastness of Palestinians. Support the resistance in any form that is possible. I urge you to support the BDS, the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions against Israel…”
CIJnews: Since September 13, 2015 till July 3, 2016, the Palestinian al-Quds Intifada (“popular” struggle which includes terrorist attacks), also known as the Knife Intifada, claimed the life of 40 Israelis and 511 were injured in 155 stabbing attacks (including 76 attempted attacks), 96 shootings, 45 vehicular (ramming) attacks, one vehicle (bus) bombing and thousands incidents of firebombings and stone/rock throwing.
Nadia Shoufani: “Palestine will be liberated with your efforts. Glory to the martyrs. Victory, freedom to theprisoners and liberation for the Palestinians, all Palestinians From the river [Jordan River] to the sea [Mediterranean Sea] Palestine will be free.”
CIJnews: Who are the “Palestinian prisoners”? Most of the Palestinian prisoners were convicted of involvement in terrorist activities. This group includes among others suicide bombers captured alive, dispatchers of suicide bombers, mass murderers, leaders of terrorist organizations, terrorists who killed civilians and those who attempted or planned to kill civilians.
One of the so called “Palestinian political prisoners” is Abdullah al-Barghouthi (عبد الله البرغوثي), who was a leading commander of Hamas’ armed wing, the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, in the West Bank and was also one of the organization’s chief bomb makers (“engineer”).
Barghouthi was convicted of involvement in terror attacks that claimed many victims, including the suicide attacks in Café Moment and Sbarro in Jerusalem, the Sheffield Club in Rishon Lezion, and the bus 4 line in Tel Aviv. In total, Barghouti was responsible for the murder of 66 Israelis and the injury of some 500. In 2004 he was sentenced to 67 life sentences.
In his book “The Prince of Shadow” Abdullah al-Barghouthi tells the story of his life focusing on his role in masterminding the series of deadly terrorist attacks aimed at Israeli civilians.
The following are excerpts from his book (originally Arabic), that shed a light on the terrorist (“political”) nature of Barghouthi’s activities:
Blowing donkey’s head in live experiment of an explosive charge
- 49-50
“One day when I stayed at the warehouse I [went] to pray the morning prayer at the village’s mosque and on my way back I noticed a white donkey, which had no tail because one of the teens set its tail on fire few months before. After the [second] Intifada broke out [September 2000] one of the teens wrote on its two sides [of the body] the words ‘death to [Israeli Prime Minister Ariel] Sharon’ and since that day the name of this donkey was Sharon’s donkey.
“An idea occurred to me and I went with it. I grabbed Sharon’s donkey and I went with the donkey to the warehouse, and from there I took one of the bobby-trapped cellular phones and rode on the donkey to a land lot owned by my father, which is located in a land in the outskirts of the village [most probably Beit Rima], which is planted with olive and almond trees, many many almond [trees].
“There I placed the [cellular] phone on the head of donkey ‘Sharon’ and I tied it tight. I dialed the [number of the] phone from another [cellular] phone and the line was automatically connected. After I moved away from the donkey Sharon, meaning Sharon’s donkey, I heard the sound of its breathing through the other [cellular] device which I had with me. I sent the command from my cellphone in order to blow other cellphone, and thus the head of the donkey Sharon was blown.
“That was the first live experiment I executed in Palestine, and thus Sharon became headless. In spite of the small size of the cellular phone the [explosive] material I planted inside it was very powerful, and even more powerful than necessary”….
Obama Justice Department Laughed Off Armed New Black Panther Threat, PJ Media, J. Christian Adams July 8, 2016
(Please see also, Dallas massacre of police: FBI investigating anti-police group that attended Dallas mosque.
— DM)
In 2009 and 2010, lawyers working at the United States Justice Department warned top Obama political appointees and other Justice Department officials about the dangerous threats of New Black Panthers to kill police officers and other whites. I was one of those lawyers who delivered those warnings.
Our warnings came in the context of the Voting Rights Act case I and other lawyers brought against the New Black Panthers on behalf of the United States in 2009, a case the Obama administration ultimately abandoned. Both top DOJ officials, including now Labor Secretary Tom Perez, as well as rank and file employees in the Civil Rights Division, were warned but did not take the New Black Panther threat seriously or otherwise considered the organization to be a laughable joke.
Allies in the media echoed the narrative that the defendants in the voter intimidation case were harmless clowns.
Among the information presented to top officials was a video produced by the New Black Panthers entitled “Training Day.” The video proposes killing police officers by ambush. I wrote about the video:
Another New Black Panther posing in the above photo and kneeling with a shotgun is “Field Marshal” Najee Muhammad. As I wrote in my book Injustice: One of them was Panther “Field Marshal” Najee Muhammad, who is seen in a Panther video called “Training Day” in which he encourages blacks in DeKalb County, Georgia, to don ski masks, lie in wait behind shrubs, and kill police officers with AK-47s. Following that exhortation he mocks the hypothetical victims’ grieving widows.
Justice Department employees ridiculed the video and noted very few were in the video’s audience, apparently oblivious of the role and power of social media to reach people not sitting in an auditorium.
Attorneys working on the voter intimidation case made an effort to broadly educate employees of the Civil Rights Division about the murderous rhetoric of the New Black Panthers. We planned a screening of a National Geographic special on the New Black Panthers where members could be heard threatening to kill white babies. We widely disseminated information about the screening in a Justice Department conference room. On a floor with nearly one hundred employees, exactly two DOJ employees showed up to watch the screening, and one of them was the paralegal on the case.
As we shall see, Obama allies in the media could also be counted on to ridicule the seriousness of the New Black Panther organization.
The Obama Justice Department has also continued to give New Black Panthers who are in possession of illegal firearms a pass. I wrote here about New Black Panther (and Democrat) Jerry Jackson:
Jackson has a long violent criminal history. He is also a Democratic Party elected official in Philadelphia, not that those two facts have anything in common, of course. He was elected in May 2010 to a seat on the Philadelphia Democratic City Committee in the 14th Ward. … It is illegal under federal law (18 U.S.C. 922(g)(1)) for any felon to possess a firearm. As one federal prosecutor told me, “these cases are among the simplest to win. It’s like taking candy from a baby. Did a felon hold a gun, or not? Period. It matters not if the gun was loaded, or even works.” So, is the Democrat New Black Panther Jerry Jackson indeed a felon? . . . According to this criminal complaint, in 1978, Jackson “with another black man did stab and rob comp[lainant] on the highway 4024 W. Girard Ave. . . Charged: robbery, theft, possession of an instrument of a crime, probation offense with a weapon, criminal conspiracy, simple assault and aggravated assault.” On January 10, 1979, Jackson was sentenced for robbery and criminal conspiracy convictions, both first degree felonies under Pennsylvania law.
The Justice Department surely must be aware of the fact that Jackson and other New Black Panthers are felons in possession of firearms given the attention the matter has received. I have talked about this fact on Fox News repeatedly. Yet nothing has happened to them. Is it because, like Hillary, they are Democrats?
As President Obama’s pastor put it, these chickens may have come home to roost.
Bob Price has this piece: Confirmed: Dallas Shooter was Member of Houston New Black Panther Party. The story has a disturbing video of an armed New Black Panther march in Texas where the armed uniformed panthers chant – “Off the pig,” and “Oink, oink, bang, bang.” They also note “Revolution has come. Time to pick up the gun.” The piece states:
One of the members holding an AR-15 style rifle appears to be Micah Xavier Johnson. During the march, the armed members of the New Black Panther Party stood off against Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies who came to Waller County responding to a request for assistance from Sheriff Glenn Smith
You can see the full video here of the Houston New Black Panthers armed formation and chants to “off the pig” with the individual armed with an M-16 with his finger positioned above the trigger guard as someone trained in firearms would do.
Since the voter intimidation case against the New Black Panthers was dismissed in 2009, racial violence in the country has spiked – on the streets of Baltimore, Dallas and cities in between. A phalanx of sycophantic media have done all they can to decouple the violence from the Black Lives Matter movement. No amount of snark or spin can decouple the violent rhetoric chanted at Black Lives Matter rallies from the violence that has followed. Americans watching on TV have ears.
The Black Lives Matter movement lost whatever moral authority it had on the streets of Dallas this week.
But that won’t stop the smart set from keeping the movement going. It reminds me of all the bloggers and columnists who spent so much time back in 2009 and 2010 ridiculing me, Megyn Kelly and any discussion of the New Black Panthers as a comic minstrel act.
That’s precisely what race-guilt addled Dave Weigel called it in the Atlantic: Megyn Kelly’s Minstrel Show. “No one cares what the NBPP thinks about anything,” Weigel quipped. “This is minstrelsy, with a fringe moron set up like a bowling pin for Hannity to knock down. And that’s the role the NBPP plays on Fox, frequently.”
Too bad Dave Weigel didn’t care a bit more about what the New Black Panthers thought about killing cops. Instead of giving rhetorical cover to the gangsters, we should have had a healthy discussion about the existence of violent black racism.
But Weigel was giving no quarter back in 2010. We were fools to devote air time to the New Black Panthers. Megyn Kelly was making monsters out of clowns. Weigel:
Watch her broadcasts and you become convinced that the New Black Panthers are a powerful group that hate white people and operate under the protection of Eric Holder’s DOJ. … They’ve been driven to fear and distrust of their DOJ by round-the-clock videos of one racist idiot brandishing a nightstick for a couple hours in 2008.
Will they admit their mistake now that one “racist idiot brandishing a nightstick” has become a racist monster with a high powered rifle and body armor? Based on what I know about this crowd, I doubt it. They are better at doubling down than expressing contrition.
It wasn’t just Weigel. The esteemed Clarence Page wrote at the Chicago Tribune the New Black Panther “party’s membership could probably squeeze into a small SUV.” Hopefull Clarence watches the video linked in this story.
That’s how they ridiculed the whole affair – make them crazy, make them small, make them harmless and make them clownish.
Bill Maher attacked anyone talking about the New Black Panthers:
Look, Republicans, I know this picture from Election Day 2008 scared you. . . . And now it’s two years later, and that picture still scares you. . . . But, it’s time you understood something: every black person scares you unless they look like Urkel, talk like Colin Powell and wear Bill Cosby sweaters, you fill your adult diaper.
A lie, but that’s how these people roll when it comes to race. Alex Pareene at Salon criticized the coverage of the New Black Panthers because they “were a couple of clowns.” The racialist Adam Serwer at least increased their membership to a “bunch of clowns.”
All of this snark is because the existence of threatening violent black racism must never be discussed in sophisticated circles.
When voter intimidation lawsuits are brought against an organization that produces “Training Day” videos describing how to ambush and kill cops, it is important to write it off as a couple of cranks. When a New Black Panther member threatens to kill white babies, that certainly must be a single nut. Surely uniformed black racists with weapons at polling sites couldn’t violate the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Anyone who would say otherwise can’t be taken seriously.
The truth is that everyone is fallen and imperfect, both black and white and every race in between. The law is designed to protect everyone equally.
Pay close attention to whether people like Maher and Page continue to use their talents to excuse evil. If they feel comfortable holding their course after Dallas and attacking anyone who would dare discuss the problem, it will say a great deal about where we are headed as as nation.

Facebook Says Cartoon Of Police Officer Being Murdered Doesn’t Violate Policies

(Warning – Graphic content posted below)
The picture, posted on “Black Panther Party of Mississippi,” a Facebook page frequented by the Dallas shooter, Micah Xavier Johnson, was reported to the social network by a concerned user. But Facebook refused to take the image down.
In a response to the user, Facebook said the picture did not violate their policies. “We reviewed the post you reported for promoting graphic violence and found it doesn’t violate our Community Standards” said the social network in their reply.
Facebook does not have a blanket ban on violent images, as they are sometimes used in news reporting. However, its community standards do prohibit images that are shared for “sadistic pleasure or to celebrate or glorify violence.”
This unquestionably captures the image that was posted to the Black Panther page, but the social network has yet to take action. At the time of writing, the image remains hosted on the platform.
According to the Daily Mail, Dallas shooter and black supremacist Micah Xavier Johnson posted to the same Facebook page several times before his deadly attacks in Texas.
‘Why do so many whites (not all) enjoy killing and participating in the death of innocent beings,’ he wrote above a video of what appeared to be people participating in a whale-killing.
In the disjointed July 2 post, Johnson expressed anger over lynchings of black people and ‘our ancestors’ being beaten, mutilated and killed.
‘Then they all stand around and smile while their picture is taken with a hung, burned and brutalized black person,’Johnson, 25, wrote.
‘They even go to our homeland and shoot our endangered wildlife for sport.’
Facebook has also allowed the creation of a fan page dedicated to Xavier Johnson to be set up following the Dallas shootings. Set up yesterday, the page accumulated over 600 “likes” from users in just three hours. It now stands at over 1,350 “likes.”
Facebook’s unwillingness to suspend pages and users promoting black supremacy and anti-police violence bears a stark contrast to their willingness so suspend conservatives. In the wake of the Orlando shootings, the social network leaped to ban pages run by Islam critic Pamela Geller, only restoring them after media pressure. The social network also suspended the pages of two gun stores shortly after the Orlando attacks.

Quanell X told reporters at KPRC NBC2 in Houston that Johnson was a member of the Houston Chapter of the New Black Panther Party for a short time a few years ago. He said he parted ways with Johnson after about six months because Johnson would not follow the chain of command.
During negotiations with the Dallas Police Department Friday morning during the ambush shooting that left five officers dead and seven other people shot, Johnson said he was not part of any group. He stated he wanted to kill white people and white police officers.

As head of the Houston Chapter, Quanell X said Johnson was only a member for about six months. He did not say when that affiliation began or ended. Breitbart Texas has reached out to Quanell X for clarification. No response was immediately available.
Breitbart Texas was present at an armed march carried out by the Houston New Black Panther Party in Waller County last summer. This writer took photos and video of the armed marchers at that time. One of the members holding an AR-15 style rifle appears to be Micah Xavier Johnson.
During the march, the armed members of the New Black Panther Party stood off against Harris County Sheriff’s Deputies who came to Waller County responding to a request for assistance from Sheriff Glenn Smith.
This writer stood between the protesters and the deputies to take these photos and video.
Glick: AIPAC’s Moment of Decision, Truth Revolt, Caroline Glick, July 8, 2016
(Please see also, Video : AIPAC Allies Weakened Pro-Israel Language in 2012 GOP Platform. — DM)
Does AIPAC intend to remain a pro-Israel organization? Or will it opt to become a softer version of J Street and work to hollow out Republican support for Israel?
Later this month the Republicans and Democrats will hold their respective conventions. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton will officially become the presidential nominees.
Ahead of the conventions, both parties selected delegates to draft their platforms. The Democratic platform committee convened late last month.
As soon as the delegates to the Democratic platform committee were named, it was clear that the party’s support for Israel would come under assault.
Three of Sanders’s representatives are outspoken opponents of the US alliance with Israel. Rep. Keith Ellison, Prof. Cornell West and James Zogby have all distinguished themselves as rabid critics of Israel and apologists for Palestinian terrorism.
Although commentators downplayed the significance of their appointments, noting that Clinton’s representatives were, by and large, supportive of Israel, the fact is that Clinton was under no obligation to give Sanders’s supporters a seat at the table. That she did so shows that she wanted to showcase growing Democratic opposition to Israel and tip her hat to the growing power of anti-Israel forces in the party.
In the end, the committee reached a compromise.
While the Zogby/West/Ellison wording was rejected, the draft platform makes explicit mention of Palestinian grievances for the first time calling for the establishment of a Palestinian state that will ensure “the independence, sovereignty and dignity” of the Palestinians.
Watching the drama unfold, the Republicans, reasonably, sought to play up the growing disparity between the GOP’s support for Israel and the Democrats’ growing hostility. After Ellison, West and Zogby were appointed – again, with Clinton’s consent – the Republican Party released an ad attacking the Democrats for abandoning their traditional support for the Jewish state.
The numbers speak for themselves. According to a Pew Research Center survey released in May, since 2014, support for Palestinians among liberal Democrats – that is, hard-line Obama supporters – has skyrocketed from 21 percent to 40%. Support for Israel among the group during the same period decreased from 39% to 33%.
The result marks the first time that support for Palestinians exceeded support for Israel among any major US political demographic. On the other hand, among conservative Republicans, support for Israel stands at 79% while support for Palestinians is almost negligible – 4%. The situation among moderate to liberal Republicans is not much different.
Sixty-five percent support Israel, 13% support the Palestinians. On the other hand, support for Israel versus Palestinians among moderate Democrats stands at 53% to 19%.
To date, the Republicans’ efforts to capitalize on their support for Israel have been stymied by the American Jewish leadership. The desire of Jewish leaders to sweep the growing partisan distinctions under the rug is understandable. They fear that noting the disparity will anger the anti-Israel forces in the Democratic Party, who are led by the president.
Such an event, they fear, will further diminish their capacity to influence Obama’s policy on Israel.
Moreover, it could endanger their support among American Jews.
Since most American Jews are Democrats – and indeed, most American Jewish leaders are Democrats – there is little appetite for a fight with the Democratic Party. Admitting that Republican support for Israel is far stronger than Democratic support would require them to act. Either they will have to switch parties, or they will have to wage an ugly fight with the increasingly powerful – and White House-backed – anti-Israel voices in the party. Not only would such a fight risk losing the party, it would risk losing the Jews who, if forced to choose between their Jewish and liberal sympathies, would, without hesitation, opt to remain in the liberal camp.
The desire to pretend away the problem was on full display late last month. Following the Democrats’ platform meeting, the Anti-Defamation League released a statement calling for the Republicans to effectively replicate the Democrats’ Israel section in the GOP’s platform. ADL’s national chairman Marvin Nathan said, “The platform committee rightfully affirmed the Democrats’ and America’s longstanding commitment to Israel’s security and to Israel’s fundamental rights and enshrined key principles of its quest for peace with the Palestinians through a directly negotiated two-state solution.”
The ADL called on the GOP to approve “similarly strong and unifying language” in its platform “so that both platforms reflect America’s strong bipartisan support for Israel.”
J Street was a central force in the Democratic committee’s deliberation. The far-left Jewish group, which claims to be pro-Israel and pro-peace but has not supported any pro-Israel initiative since it was founded in 2008, supported all the members of Congress who were delegates on the committee.
The rise of J Street as a major force among Democrats is emblematic of the Obama administration’s hostility to Israel and its Jewish American supporters.
The main casualty of J Street’s rise has been AIPAC. J Street was founded to challenge AIPAC’s claim to represent the Jewish community as a whole by claiming that it doesn’t speak for Jews on the Left.
In so has served as a means for enabling Democrats from far-left districts to effectively abandon Israel while using J Street to hide the fact that they have done so. In this way, J Street’s very presence on the political scene has diminished AIPA C’s influence over the party.
J Street supports all manner of anti-Israel measures in the interests of “peace” with the Palestinians.
Indeed, it supported the Sanders delegates’ platform proposal. And throughout Obama’s long courtship of Iran at Israel’s expense, J Street has been an ardent opponent of anti-Iran sanctions and an advocate for whatever deal Obama came up with.
Obama’s use of J Street is just one of the ways has worked to emasculate AIPAC. He has also deliberately hung AIPAC out to dry, repeatedly, in order to humiliate it and weaken its influence over lawmakers.
The most glaring example of that practice was Obama’s insistence that AIPAC lobby Congress in favor of his plan to bomb regime targets in Syria in 2013. Israel had no particular stake in the issue, so AIPAC had no particular reason to get involved.
Moreover, Obama’s plan was unpopular among Democrats and Republicans alike. Democrats opposed his proposed missile strikes because they oppose all US involvement in Middle Eastern wars.
Republicans opposed it, because his plan made no strategic sense. And yet, in the hopes of winning sympathy, and through it, perhaps, influence over its Israel policies, AIPAC dutifully sent its lobbyists to the Hill to push Obama’s plan.
In the end, of course, AIPAC was humiliated, when at the last moment, Obama decided to scrap the strikes.
Then of course, there was Obama’s extraordinary assault of AIPAC over its opposition to his nuclear appeasement of Iran. Throughout the years leading up to his nuclear capitulation to the mullahs last summer, Republicans and pro-Israel Democrats worked together to pass Iran sanctions laws. To appease the administration, AIPAC went out of its way to water down the bills. But the administration was unimpressed.
Last summer, during the fight over Senate Democratic support for the deal, the administration painted AIPAC as a treacherous organization that was working against the US interest for Israel’s benefit.
Anti-Semitic language was deftly deployed by administration surrogates against AIPAC to rally support.
While AIPAC had no choice but to oppose Obama’s embrace of Iran, it has given the administration no fight over its support for the Palestinians against Israel. Indeed, not only has it gone along with the administration’s hostile positions against Israel on the Palestinian issue, it works out that AIPAC has lobbied Republicans to support the Palestinians.
Last week, Republican activists sent me a video recording of the 2012 Republican platform committee’s deliberations regarding the party’s position on Israel. In 2008, the Republican platform included an unequivocal endorsement of unified Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. In its words, “We support Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel and moving the American embassy to that undivided capital of Israel.”
In the video recordings, Sue Lynch, a delegate from Wisconsin, is seen introducing an amendment calling for the GOP to strike mention of “unified Jerusalem” from its platform. According to the activists, Lynch was acting as a surrogate for AIPAC in submitting the amendment. And in the event, the 2012 Republican platform sufficed with a mention of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
Later in the same recording, a committee member submitted an amendment that would have deleted all mention of a Palestinian state from the platform.
She argued that there was no reason for the US to take a position on the matter, since it has to be determined by Israel. From the response the amendment received, it was difficult to discern any controversy over the effort.
That is, until Brad Gordon, AIPAC director of policy and government relations, took the floor. Gordon repeatedly argued that by not committing the GOP to supporting a Palestinian state, the Republicans risked harming Israel.
“We do not want to do anything that would embarrass the Israeli government,” he said.
And since Obama coerced Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu into endorsing a Palestinian state, Gordon argued that it would be embarrass Netanyahu to leave it out of the platform. In testament to its power, AIPAC got what it wanted. The amendment deleting mention of the Palestinians was defeated.
In other words, acting through a surrogate and directly, AIPAC weakened Republican support for Israel.
Next week, Republican delegates will convene to write their platform, ahead of their convention, which will begin on July 18. Donald Trump has already expressed reservations about supporting Palestinians statehood and supports moving the US Embassy to Jerusalem. Moreover, the Israeli government’s guidelines make no mention of Palestinians statehood.
As understandable as the US Jewish leadership’s attempts to hide the growing disparity between Republican and Democratic support have been, the fact is they have failed to bring any positive result.
Now, as the anti-Israel voices among the Democrats have grown so powerful that Clinton has enabled them to influence the party’s position on Israel, AIPAC’s moment of decision has arrived.
Does AIPAC intend to remain a pro-Israel organization? Or will it opt to become a softer version of J Street and work to hollow out Republican support for Israel just as J Street has hollowed out Democratic support for the Jewish state?
In a statement in response to this column, AIPAC spokesman Marshall Wittmann rejected the veracity of the story’s veracity.
“This column makes a completely false accusation about AIPAC’s position,” Wittmann said. “AIPAC’s position has consistently been that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, should remain undivided and we have supported moving the US embassy there – and that remains our position. AIPAC actually worked to strengthen the 2012 Republican platform on Jerusalem. When it was noticed that Jerusalem was omitted from the original draft, we urged that language be included reflecting Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.”
The Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and other Islamic supremacist groups have assiduously courted Black Lives Matter, and linked their propaganda efforts against “Islamophobia” to the Black Lives Matter stand against perceived racism. In Dallas last night, we see where this is tending: as Kyle Shideler notes in the March article below, “At the event, MAS leader Khalilah Sabra openly discussed the importance of Muslim support for Black Lives Matter, and urged ‘revolution.’ Comparing the situation in the United States to the Muslim Brotherhood-led Arab Spring revolutions, she asked, ‘We are the community that staged a revolution across the world; if we can do that, why can’t we have that revolution in America?’” And with the mass murder of police in Dallas last night, we’re getting there.
The Nation of Islam is not an orthodox Muslim group, and subscribes to a great deal of racial mythology that is nowhere in Islamic tradition. It is, however, also true that many black Americans first enter the Nation, and then become orthodox Sunni Muslims. And given the increased racial tensions of the Obama era, many people in both the NOI and among mainstream Sunnis have a taste for the “revolution” that is brought about by means of jihad.
“Dallas police shootings: Race rally cops killed in Dallas sniper ambush,” The Australian, July 9, 2016:
Heavily armed snipers killed five police and transit officers in downtown Dallas and wounded seven more, in a premeditated and triangulated “ambush-style” assault during a rally protesting against the killing of black men after two shootings this week….
As the FBI and local authorities launched an investigation, their focus was expected to probe militant black rights groups set up in Dallas. Anti-police groups include the New Black Panther Party and Huey P. Newton Gun Club, named after the founder of the 1960s activist Black Panther Party.
The Huey P. Newton Gun Club includes a coalition of BARC (Blacks Against Racist Cops) and other African-American groups, who agitate against police brutality. The group attended the Nation of Islam’s Muhammad mosque in Dallas in April to monitor protests by an anti-Islamic group, the Bureau of American Islamic Relations. Both sides were armed, and moved on by police….
It’s useful to recall this: “Black Lives Matter and a History of Islamist Outreach to African Americans,” by Kyle Shideler, Townhall, March 17, 2016:
Once the dust settled, last week’s protest of a Donald Trump rally in Chicago demonstrated a growing nexus between Islamist groups in the United States and the radical leftist “Black Lives Matter” movement.
This rhetoric of unity between these movements was clearly on display at the 2015 joint conference of the 2015 Muslim American Society (MAS) and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA). MAS was described by federal prosecutors as the “overt arm” of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood, and ICNA is recognized as the front for the Pakistani Islamist group Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) founded by one of the foremost thinkers on modern Jihad, Syed Abul A’la Maududi.
At the event, MAS leader Khalilah Sabra openly discussed the importance of Muslim support for Black Lives Matter, and urged “revolution.” Comparing the situation in the United States to the Muslim Brotherhood-led Arab Spring revolutions, she asked, “We are the community that staged a revolution across the world; if we can do that, why can’t we have that revolution in America?”
Reporting on this merging “revolutionary” alliance goes back as far as the first outbreak of disorder in Ferguson. Few may recall the attendance at Michael Brown’s funeral of CAIR executive director Nihad Awad. Awad was identified in federal court as a member of the Palestine Committee, a covert group of Muslim Brothers dedicated to supporting Hamas in the United States.CAIR joined other groups named by federal law enforcement as Muslim Brotherhood organizations and lined up behind the Ferguson protests.
In November of 2014, Fox News reported on an effort by CAIR Michigan Director Dawud Walid to link the death of Michael Brown at the hands of police and the death ofLuqman Abdullah, a Detroit imam shot during an FBI raid.
Abdullah was described by the FBI as a leader of a nationwide Islamic organization known as “The Ummah,” run by convicted cop-killer Jamil Abdullah Amin. Abdullah’s group engaged in criminal activity in order to raise funds in order for an effort to establish Sharia law in opposition to the U.S. government.
Amin and CAIR have a long association together, with CAIR providing funding for Amin’s legal defense, and issuing numerous press releases in support of the Georgia radical imam and former Black Panther. While this linkage of Islamist front groups to radical racial politics may seem a relatively new development, the reality is it has been the result of a nearly four decade long effort by Islamist groups. A major thinker on this effort was a Pakistani immigrant and ICNA leader named Shamim A. Siddiqui, who knew JeI founder Maududi personally. Siddiqui wrote his work, Methodology of Dawah Il Allah in American Perspective in 1989.
Siddiqui defined Dawah Il Allah as,“an organized, a determined and a continuous effort to call the people of the land to the fold of their Creator and Sustainer, Allah (SWT), as priority Number One [of the Da’ee], towards accepting Islam as a way of life and convincing them to the need and urgency of establishing the Deen of Allah in the body politics of the country, with the sole objective to get the pleasure of Allah.” [Emphasis added]
In other words, Siddiqui focused not solely on religious proselytizing, but on the promotion of Islam as a political system. Siddiqui spends much of Methodology of Dawah discussing the efforts being made at recruiting and indoctrinating African Americans, and complained that the “revolutionary” aspect of Islam (his words) was being ignored by those working to convert the African American community.
Ultimately, Siddiqui believed that the Dawah mission depends on merging the grassroots intensity of radicalized African American Muslim communities—like those led by Jamil Abdullah Amin—with the doctrinal and more sophisticated Muslim Brotherhood-led immigrant communities. Siddiqui writes:“This again, will not be possible without bringing both the immigrant and Afro-American Muslim communities of America on to one platform. The resources of one and the political awakening of the other, when combined together with the Islamic Movement of America, will be able to play miracles…There will be no dearth of resources, both of men and material, at that time. Only the Islamic Movement of America can get this job accomplished.”…
