An IDF Golani soldier has died of his wounds and eleven others were wounded after an Arab terrorist armed with a knife in his backpack entered the Central Bus Station in Be’er Sheva shortly before 8 pm Sunday evening.

The attacker stabbed an IDF soldeir and grabbed his M-16 rifle and began firing into the crowd of passengers waiting to travel to various locations.

Nearly all of the wounded were people in the twenties, officials said.

By 8:29 pm the bus station — a central hub in the Negev — was evacuated and sealed, with all public transportation shut down in the city amid fears by security personnel that additional terrorists could be at large. By 10:30 pm those fears were largely dispelled, although security forces were still hunting for a taxi that had run a checkpoint shortly after the attack.

Two of the wounded were still in very critical condition. Two others were in serious condition, four were listed in fair condition and one is in good condition. Four of the victims are police officers.

At least seven other people were hospitalized for trauma and shock. All were taken to the city’s Soroka Medical Center.

The sole terrorist was shot and killed by security forces at the scene. An Eritrean citizen who was initially assumed to also be a terrorist was critically wounded and was undergoing surgery.

The security guard who shot the Eritrean citizen said in his initial interrogation after the incident that he was convinced that he was a terrorist: “I saw him running toward me, not hiding like the others, so I shot him,” he told the Hebrew-language Ma’ariv newspaper.

A serious case of anti-Semitic violence occurred on Tuesday in London’s Stamford Hill, which is home to a large Jewish population, amid a day of verbal assaults targeting Jews in the British metropolis.

The Campaign Against Antisemitism reported that the first incident of the day occurred when “young Asian men,” a term often used for Muslims, shouted anti-Semitic abuse at a school bus driver even as young children were on board.

Not long afterwards, a black man shouted “we need to kill all the Jews” at a Jew as he left a synagogue in Stamford Hill. The assailant followed the man, and then smashed in the driver’s side window of his car.

The anti-Semitism continued, as another person, possibly the same man who smashed the car window, verbally abused and threatened two women on the same street. The report noted that the man “may also be linked to additional incidents in the area.”

One person was killed and at least four people were injured in simultaneous terror attacks at the Central Bus Station in the southern city of Beersheba Sunday night.

Two attackers opened fire with a rifle and pistol at two different points in the terminal just after 7:30 p.m., injuring several people, including four police officers, police said.

One of the weapons was apparently stolen from a soldier, according to a Channel 2 report.

The attackers also apparently used blades to stab their victims, according to initial reports.

One attacker was shot and killed and the other was shot and wounded by security forces at the scene, police said.

Two people suffered serious injuries, two were hospitalized in moderate condition, and two were treated for light wounds, according to a spokesperson for the Magen David Adom rescue service.

A police spokesperson put the number of injured at six, and other media reports but the tally at seven. The discrepancy could not be immediately clarified.

Gadi Abuchatzira, deputy head of the MDA Negev Region, said rescuers found a number of injured, all of them in their 20s, in the station.

“We arrived to the scene en masse and spread throughout the station to look for other victims. We did a triage and began giving life-saving treatment. Two of them had wounds to their upper bodies, they were unconscious,” Abuchatzira said.

One of those injured was reportedly one of the attackers.

“Four of the injured were fully conscious in moderate condition and suffering from gunshot wounds to the torso and legs. A woman was also injured with a gunshot wound to the limbs,” he said.

The attack was the first of what had been an otherwise quiet day, following a weekend that saw seven stabbings or stabbing attempts in Jerusalem, Hebron and elsewhere, amid a spate of attacks by Palestinians terrorists.

The Central Bus Station was later shut and security personnel were searching the site for any additional threats.

Bus and train services in the area were halted as well, Channel 2 reported.

An eyewitness told Channel 2 news the two were able to enter the bus station — which doubles as a commercial center — fairly easily, despite bolstered security forces throughout the country amid the terror wave.

Earlier Sunday, hundreds of Palestinian protesters in two locations of the West Bank city of Hebron hurled stones and Molotov cocktails at Israeli security forces Sunday, following several stabbing attacks that were carried out by Palestinians in the area over the weekend.

In the West Bank city of Tulkarem, about 100 rioters hurled rocks, burned tires and threw Molotov cocktails at Israel Defense Forces soldiers, who responded with nonlethal dispersal means. No injuries were reported in the incident.

Dozens of Palestinians also burned tires along the southern part of the Gaza Strip border fence, the Ynet news site reported.

Syrian Gambit: US at Pains to Create ‘Another Afghanistan’ for Russia

Syrian Gambit: US at Pains to Create ‘Another Afghanistan’ for Russia

There are clear signs that the Pentagon will try to create “another Afghanistan” for Russia in Syria, US political analyst Phil Butler told Sputnik.

The Syrian chess game has evidently entered into its critical phase: Vladimir Putin has thwarted the West’s plan to overthrow Assad at every turn, prompting a fierce outcry from Washington’s war hawks. In September 2014, Kenneth M. Pollack, a former CIA intelligence analyst, proposed a plan entitled “An Army to Defeat Assad.” The CIA analyst envisaged the creation of a US Syrian proxy army that would take over the Syrian government forces (and deal a blow to Islamic State). However, the toppling of Bashar al-Assad was marked by Pollack as the overriding priority.

“Once the new army gained ground, the opposition’s leaders could formally declare themselves to represent a new provisional government. The United States and its allies could then extend diplomatic recognition to the movement, allowing the US Department of Defense to take over the tasks of training and advising the new force – which would now be the official military arm of Syria’s legitimate new rulers,” Pollack elaborated.

In January 2015, the Pentagon announced that it kicked off a plan aimed at training Assad’s opposition fighters, strikingly similar to that offered by Pollack in September 2014.So, nothing hinted at any trouble until September 30, when Russia suddenly threw a wrench in Washington’s ingenious plan.

“To get to the root of the current crisis in Syria and the Middle East overall, we must look at US policy overall,” Germany-based American political analyst Phil Butler explained in an exclusive interview to Sputnik.

“The current divisions within Syria and Northern Iraq are to a degree fabricated. Secular, religious, and even tribal differences in this region have been leveraged for centuries to divide Syria, as well as other nations in the region. You’ve mentioned Ken Pollack, and appropriately, I might add. Pollack, who’s held many official positions within the Washington policy making establishment, is actually one of the authors of chaos in this region. Discussing such “bred” academics is a deep well, but suffice it to say the division of Yugoslavia, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the Arab Spring overall, the Georgia war, and the current Ukraine mess are all facets of the same flawed gem of US hegemony,” the analyst told Sputnik.

According to Butler, the current mission in Syria is not intended to be a splintering as we saw with Kosovo, in the Balkans.

“As for the ‘plan’ in Syria, I believe there were ‘contingencies’ mapped out. As amoral as these schemes may be, they are not concocted by idiots. Contingency 1, in my view, was the literal overthrow of Assad. Vladimir Putin’s moves, Russia’s, have thwarted this potential at every turn. Contingency number two obviously involves another Yugoslavia in the making. And finally, overall tribalism and chaos in the region helps the US, and particularly Israel gain strength in the region by weakening neighbors,” the political analyst stressed.

Meanwhile, Western reputable media sources have reported of an upcoming offensive on Raqqa, ISIL’s “capital,” the Pentagon is preparing to launch along with its Arab and Kurdish military allies. However, Middle East Eye reported on October 14 that there is no sign of such preparations on the ground: “The US-led anti-IS coalition dropped 50 tons of weapons to the newly created Syrian Arab Coalition on Monday in the Hasakah province, in order to avoid angering Turkey. But so far, no US weapons can be seen on the frontlines close to Raqqa, nor any sign of rebel troop preparations.”

“The reason we have not seen these latest weapons shipments being used, is the complexity of strategy on the ground has changed. No standing force, Al-Nusra, ISIL, or other jihadists put together, could withstand Russian air power. I believe we are about to see Assad’s opposition morph their strategy to full guerrilla warfare as was the case in Afghanistan. We will see fewer conventional “offensives” in the future, and far more localized attacks, the Pentagon will try and create another Afghanistan,” Butler explained commenting on the issue.

However, in contrast to the US’ covert war against the USSR in Afghanistan, there were no US jet fighters in the region and thus far, no threat of a direct confrontation between the two global powers.

Today, there are many military “actors” in the skies of Syria and Iraq. Does it mean the Pentagon’s Afghani strategy may unexpectedly transform into a direct confrontation between US/NATO and Russia?

“As for the threat of direct confrontation between the US and Russia in Syria, the possibility does exist. In this case however, I believe such a confrontation is actually another contingency for Washington,” the American political analyst underscored.

“While US military doctrine these days is set to avoid direct confrontation, on the other hand America and citizens in the “West” have been primed for it. Consider that most Americans, have been brainwashed substantially to believe Vladimir Putin has already invaded half a dozen countries. As crazy as this sounds, pretend you live in small American town and you listen to CNN or Fox before bed every night. This potential, to be dragged into a wide conflagration set up by Washington, is why you see Vladimir Putin making very conservative and precise moves on the stage,” he told Sputnik.

“Having said this, given all we have seen since 9/11, it would take a fairly major incident to excuse such a confrontation,” Phil Butler concluded.

Russian Success in Syria Shows US-Dominated World ‘Falling Apart’

With the ongoing Russian anti-ISIL campaign in Syria, one no longer hears about US airstrikes in Syria; Washington is quickly losing its position in the international arena, while Moscow, on the contrary, is proving there is an alternative to a US-dominated unipolar world.

The United States has long been the undisputed hegemon, who dominated international relations and was involved in most key affairs around the world.

However, with the start of Russian airstrikes in Syria, it has become clear that the US-dominated unipolar world is falling apart at the seams, US political analyst and journalist Eric Best told Czech newspaper Parlamentnilisty.cz.

“Russia intervened in Syria to prove that a unipolar world has an alternative, and those who want to act have such an opportunity. And this opportunity is Russia,” Best said, as cited by the Czech newspaper.

Russia’s example that one could successfully act without the approval of the United States might become a wake-up call for other countries and regions, which haven’t decided yet whom to align themselves with. Previously, these countries were unwilling to go against Washington, as there was no real alternative to the US-dominated world, the political analyst explained. And now none other than Jean-Claude Juncker himself, the President of the European Commission, was heard saying that the EU shouldn’t allow Washington to dictate its relations with Russia. Political experts have already said that if the EU were to start closer cooperation with Russia, it would be a disaster for the United States. The question is now: has the EU finally realized that it could gain more independence from Washington by working closer with Moscow?

Furthermore, Russia’s involvement in Syria has brought Washington’s controversial foreign policy into the spotlight. US political analyst Phil Butler noted that no less than the collective dignity of the United States is at stake in Syria right now.

Meanwhile, life has been hard for ISIL terrorists after Russia began pinpoint airstrikes against them in Syria following an official request from President Bashar al-Assad. Russia doesn’t hide the fact that it supports the government of al-Assad, stating that only his government and troops would successfully eradicate ISIL on the ground.Although Russian airstrikes have been very effective in Syria, the US propaganda machine has portrayed the situation as if it creates a increased surge in refugees, Best continued.

“American propaganda is way stronger than Russian…” Best said, adding that right now the world is going through a harsh information war and attempts to portray Russia as a party responsible for the refugee crisis in Europe is nothing more than another media lie created by  US media, said Best, who is a renowned journalist himself.

It’s important to remember that before Washington got involved in Syria, funding and training a variety of Islamic rebels to fight the government of al-Assad, there were no Syrian refugees running to Europe.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has pledged to give support to four Turkish demands on which Ankara has insisted in return for agreeing to a migrant action plan with the European Union.

“There are four elements. Germany is ready to give support on these issues,” Merkel said Oct. 18 during a joint press conference with her Turkish counterpart, Ahmet Davutoğlu.

Merkel made the trip to Turkey amid increasing pressure at home after hundreds of thousands of refugees poured into Germany over the summer.

Davutoğlu said Turkey was ready to work with Germany and the EU on the migration crisis and would take all measures to prevent human trafficking. However, Ankara is focused on four issues, the prime minister said: the opening of negotiation chapters, visa liberalization, the transfer of 3 billion euros from the EU to Turkey for migrant support and the invitation of Turkish leaders to EU summits.

Davutoğlu stressed the “fair share of the burden” on the migration problem and welcomed Merkel’s approach on the issue, while noting that the figures were of secondary importance.

Davutoğlu expressed Turkey’s expectation for the implementation of visa privileges for Turkish nationals by 2016, in return for a readmission agreement which would pave the way for the EU to send migrants back to Turkey.

“In terms of the migration crisis, we seek to contribute a new vision to relations between the EU and Turkey and get out of its frozen situation,” he said.

“We agreed on accelerating the opening of negotiation chapters 17, 23, 24,” he said.

Turkey and Germany will continue cooperation through “working groups” which will convene this week, Davutoğlu said.

Expressing support for the Turkish demands, Merkel especially highlighted that they would work to open Chapter 17, and said they would “discuss” details on Chapters 23 and 24. The German chancellor also reiterated her country’s longstanding hesitations about Turkey’s prospective membership in the union and said, “Turkey’s full membership is an open-ended issue.”

“How can we organize the accession process more dynamically?” Merkel asked.

Working groups will study the “share of burden,” Merkel said, noting that the invitation of Turkish leaders to EU summits would be evaluated by the union.

Ahead of her visit to Turkey, Merkel stated that Turkey’s help was needed to stem the flow of refugees to Europe but that this had not changed her view that Ankara should not become a member of the European Union. “I have always been against EU membership, President [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan knows this, and I still am,” Merkel told a talk show on German public broadcaster ARD on Oct. 7.

Turkey and European Union agreed to a “draft” agreement on migrants last week which will be implemented after Ankara’s political demands are met by Brussels.

The EU has suddenly rediscovered Turkey, Turkish Foreign Minister Feridun Sinirlioğlu told reporters on Oct. 16. The minister identified the draft agreement on migrant action plant as an “ad referendum” which is for further consideration by one having the authority to make a final decision.

Close military cooperation

The two leaders also discussed Syria, with Turkey informing the German chancellor about violations of Turkish airspace and the change of the power balance in the country, Davutoğlu said, adding that he delivered some intelligence information.

Despite Germany’s withdrawal of Patriot batteries from Turkey, the two countries will step up for closer military cooperation, Merkel said.

Davutoğlu also condemned an attack on the independent candidate for mayor of Cologne, Henriette Reker.

The German and Turkish foreign, defense and economy ministers will also meet in January 2016 in Berlin, Davutoğlu said.

Merkel also met with Erdoğan. Making a joint statement, Erdoğan stated that the two countries recommended an “action plan against terror.”

Meanwhile, PA officials said no date has been set for a meeting between PA President Mahmoud Abbas and US Secretary of State John Kerry.

Kerry is scheduled to meet with Netanyahu later this week in Germany.

The PA Foreign Ministry said that the “summary executions” were a sign of “growing terrorism, racism and extremism” among IDF soldiers and settlers.

The ministry said that the Palestinians have begun documenting Israeli “summary executions” and “incitement” in order to file a complaint against Israel with the International Criminal Court.

It repeated the call for an international commission of inquiry into Israeli “crimes” against Palestinians.

The ministry claimed that 18-year-old Fadel Qawassmeh, who was killed in Hebron on Saturday after he tried to stab a settler, was an innocent man who had been “executed in cold blood.” It accused IDF soldiers of placing a knife near the body of Qawassmeh after he was shot to make it look as if this “crime” was an “act of self-defense.”

PA Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah urged the Quartet members – US, Russia, EU and UN – to intervene to “stop all Israeli crimes and assaults” against Palestinians. He also called for the resumption of the peace process in order to “end occupation and create a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.”

Hamdallah too accused Israel of killing “innocent Palestinians, especially women and children.” He also denounced Israel for “inciting” against the Palestinians.

Ukraine Wants to Be the 51st US State

Ukraine Wants to Be the 51st US State You knew it was coming…

(Allgemeine Morgenpost Rundschau)

They might as well make it official

This article originally appeared in Allgemeine Morgenpost Rundschau. Translated from German by Werner Schrimpf

After the installation of a US-orchestrated and controlled puppet regime in Kiev the next logical step was announced today. The Ukrainian government filed an application for admission into the US as federal state No. 51.

One motivation for this step was the problem that many American citizens who are to pose as Ukraine’s new government have refused to accept Ukrainian citizenship.

Ukraine does not allow any form of dual citizenship and people possessing two passports can be severely fined by the Ukrainan authorities.

“So we considered the matter very carefully and now we are able to kill two birds with one stone. The Russian aggressor will now think twice if he really is willing to attack U.S. territory “ a government spokesperson explained.

Our top man, Petro Poroschenko, will be appointed the first governor of the newly created federal state.
Yatsenyuk, Tyahnybok, Yarosh and Lyashko will be elected as the new representatives of Ukraine to the US Congress.

Georgia and Puerto Rico protested against this decision due to their own ambitions to become the 51st U.S. federal state.

As the reader may recall, the Georgian statehood application was rejected on techincal grounds because a US state called ‘Georgia’ already exists.

One possible solution, the unification of these two states of ‘Georgia’, was rejected by the Georgian people because they are keen to remain a sovereign country with total independence. And ‘Alabama’ as the new capital city of a unified Georgia did not attract interest – although the famous band ‘Lynyrd Skynyrd’ offered in a wonderful gesture to rename their famous song title away from ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ into ‘Sweet Home Tbilisi’.

Since its annexation in 1898 Puerto Rico has been trying to become a full member state of the U.S. and to get rid of its status as plain U.S. colony. Puerto Ricans envision themselves as the number one candidates for becoming the next US federal state and are cheesed now with the new competitors arising from Eastern Europe.

But just now we’ve received a surprising statement from Washington:

“For the time being the US does not intend to annex any further underdeveloped and stunted regions. This would just cost a huge pile of money and the U.S. would be hampered in exploiting these areas and people in a productive manner. For the U.S. economy it could be fatal if these new colonies were to sue the U.S. homeland for not granting them the current minimum wage.”

Bearing this in mind, the Ukraine will most likely remain in the status of a plain U.S. colony….

Twelve air forces crowd Syrian skies. Israel-Russian hot line may channel coordination

October 18, 2015

Source: Twelve air forces crowd Syrian skies. Israel-Russian hot line may channel coordination

DEBKAfile Exclusive Report October 18, 2015, 5:05 PM (IDT)

On Sunday, Oct. 18, Russian and Israeli air force headquarters near Latakia in Syria and Tel Aviv began practicing procedures for using the hot line they established last week to coordinate their operations in Syrian skies.
They were putting into effect the agreement reached between Vladimir Putin and Binyamin Netanyahu in Moscow on Sept. 22, which was worked out in detail on Oct. 6 by Russian Dept. Chief of Staff Gen. Nikolay Bogdanovsky and his Israeli counterpart Gen. Yair Golan..On Oct 15, the defense ministry in Moscow confirmed that “mutual information-sharing on the actions of aircraft has been established”  to avoid clashes in the skies of Syria “between the Russian aviation command center at the Hmeimim air base and a command post of the Israeli air force.” He added that the two sides were holding practice sessions on the new line.

The next day, Turkish fighters downed a Russian Orlan 10 UAV that intruded 3 km into their space. The Turks complained they had shot down the drone after repeated warnings to the Russian pilots. Sine the drone has no pilots, the complaint must have been relayed to the Russian airbase in Syria. But in the absence of coordination, there was no answer.

Neither did Ankara have the option of resorting to a Washington line to the Kremlin, since the Obama administration had spurned Moscow’s proposal to send a military delegation to Washington for setting up a military coordination mechanism for their aerial operations over Syria.
The White House spokesman Josh Earnest dismissed the offer as “a sign of desperation for Mr. Putin’s air campaign.”
It just so happens that, this Sunday, the US and Israel launched their bi-annual Blue Flag air exercise from Israel’s southern air base at Ovda, their combat squadrons joined by Greek and Italian air units. They will spend two weeks “simulating a high-intensity confrontation against a political entity with a strong army,” according to the official statement.
The question hanging over this exercise is this: How will this drill pan out in the absence of US-Russian coordination on their air movements over the Middle East and Syria?

Unlike the airspace of the world’s countries, Syria’s skies are in fact ungoverned by any fully-functioning sovereign government, and so the normal rules of air conduct and international safety procedures have gone by the board.

Syrian air space is frequented by the fighters, heavy bombers, transports and UAVs of a dozen air forces: Syria, Russia the US, Israel, Turkey and Iran as well as the US-led coalition planes of Canada, France, Australia, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. The miracle is that no major air disasters have so far occurred in skies crowded by this swarm of uncontrolled, unmonitored air traffic – all bent on their separate missions.
Most may be identified by radio signals or external markings and emblems. Some carry transponders which broadcast their location, identity, speed and direction.
But what about the few who don’t? One such case was the Russian drone that violated Turkish air space Friday with no identifying markings.

As soon as Russia embarked on its large-scale military buildup in Syria, Moscow and Jerusalem made haste to set up a hot line to avert disastrous collisions over Syria.

debkafile’s military and intelligence sources say it is safe to assume that the Russian end of the hot line with Israel at the Al-Hmeineem air base near Latakia, will be manned by Arab-speaking flight controllers.

And at the Tel Aviv end, along with Israeli officers, there will also be a presence of air controllers from western allies, including the US Air Force, who will use the facility to coordinate their flights with the Russian command.
The US-Israeli Blue Flag exercise provides an excellent opportunity for testing the Israeli-Russian hot line in combat conditions. Far from being a fantastic scenario, it offers a dose of reality on the current military conditions prevailing in the region.
