CIA-trained rebels do not like these things

Despite Obama’s insistence that Russia’s act of “weakness” in Syria is only supported by Iran and the Syrian government, more and more nations are expressing their gratitude for Moscow’s help in the fight against terrorism in the Middle East. Earlier today, Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said that his country supports Russia’s military involvement in the region:

“Russia’s entrance, given its potential and capabilities, is something we see is going to have an effect on limiting terrorism in Syria and eradicating it,” Shoukry said in a televised interview on Saturday.

This is surprising news because of Egypt’s close ties to Saudi Arabia, a nation that has been at the forefront of pushing for Assad’s removal.

Shoukry’s comments reflect the growing relationship between Moscow and Cairo. During a visit to Russia in August, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi endorsed Putin’s plan to create an anti-terrorism coalition.

The real war against terror continues to gain international support. Sorry, Obama?

Troll of the Year

If you’ve turned on a western television in the last 48 hours, you are probably well aware that Syria is overflowing with democracy-loving, secular vegans who are being massacred by the evil Russian empire. Vladimir Putin is very interested in these tofu-guzzling hippies, and so he decided to ask his Germany and French partners about them. Via SkyNews:

President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman said that Russia’s Western partners had failed to explain the term “moderate opposition” as monitors claimed that Russian jets had bombed two Syrian villages, killing one person.

Putin, who met the leaders of France and Germany in Paris on Friday, had “expressed a lively interest in the subject and asked what the difference between the moderate opposition and the immoderate opposition is,’ Dmitry Peskov said on television on Saturday.

“So far, no one really has managed to explain what the moderate opposition is.’

Sometimes Putin is a little bit cruel.
