5 Ways Hamas Kills Palestinian Arab Children

5 Ways Hamas Kills Palestinian Arab Children, Breitbart, July 24, 2014

palestinian-youth-hospital-bed-afp

On Thursday, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East – a full branch of the UN dedicated solely to Palestinian Arabs – announced that Israeli ordinance had hit a UN-run school in Gaza, leaving fifteen dead. The UN still has not confirmed that the school was not hit by a rocket gone awry from Hamas – a real possibility given the fact that dozens of Hamas misfires have slammed into Gaza. Meanwhile, as Gateway Pundit passes along, that the IDF has reported on the situation:

Last night, the Israel Defense Forces told the Red Cross to evacuate civilians from UNRWA’s shelter in Beit Hanoun between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. today. UNRWA and the Red Cross received the message. Hamas prevented civilians from evacuating the area during the window that the IDF gave them. Today, July 24, Hamas continued firing from Beit Hanoun. The IDF responded by targeting the source of the fire. Also today, several rockets launched from Gaza toward Israel fell short and hit Beit Hanoun.

Nonetheless, the Obama State Department immediately seized the opportunity to smack Israel, stating that the incident “underscores the need to end the violence and to achieve a sustainable ceasefire and enduring resolution of the crisis in Gaza as soon as possible.”

This is just the latest Obama administration salvo at Israel, which has sacrificed dozens of Jewish troops in order to avoid civilian casualties – after all, Israel has total air superiority in Gaza, and could simply continue its air assault if it did not care about civilian casualties.

We should not be surprised by the UNRWA’s attempts to slam Israel. The UN itself is a deeply disgusting organization filled with the world’s worst criminals – the Jew-hating 56-member Organization of Islamic Countries constitutes more than 25% of the entire membership of the UN, and their Jew-hatred is accompanied by the subtler anti-Semitism of European and Asian nations.

The UNRWA is perhaps the worst branch of one of the worst organizations on the globe. The UNRWA has an interest in perpetuating Palestinian terrorism, thereby keeping Palestinians “refugees” requiring UNRWA’s aid. UNRWA routinely employs members of Hamas, their schools promote hatred for Israel, and their graduates often become terrorists themselves. Dore Gold, former Israeli ambassador to the UN, points out, “at least 46 terrorist operatives were students in the UNRWA schools.”

Those facts, however, cut no weight with an Obama administration dedicated to giving cover to Hamas and drawing moral equivalence between Israel and those who wish to destroy it. Here are the top five ways that Hamas is using civilians to shield itself against Israel – and then exploiting their bodies in the press when Israel fights against Hamas terror:

Placing Rockets In Schools. Last week, the UNRWA admitting to finding Hamas rockets in two of their schools. Not one. Two. The UNRWA confiscated the rockets – and then turned those rockets over to Hamas. That prompted Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman to blast UN chief Ban Ki Moon, stating, “UNRWA schools were established to educate children in Gaza, but instead they are providing a hiding place for rockets meant to kill children in Israel.”

Using Hospitals to Hide Rockets. The Obama administration has said approximately nothing about Hamas firing an anti-tank missile directly from Al-Wafa hospital on Thursday. On Monday, Israel hit al-Asqa Hospital in Deir Bala, which was being used to house anti-tank missiles. In 2008, Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh used a hospital for his command center.

Shuttling Terrorists in Ambulances. Hamas has used ambulances as cover for firing on Israeli targets and for transportation. Repeatedly.

Hiding Rockets in Mosques, Playgrounds, and Cemeteries. The IDF has released photographs showing Hamas placing weapons in and around places of worship, children’s playgrounds, and burial spots. And, of course, Hamas is shooting from within civilian homes.

Using Babies and Women As Human Shields. According to reports from parents of IDF soldiers, “soldiers have repeatedly seen young children in Sheijaya, Gaza, be sent out into the streets with guns to try to attack IDF troops. One parent reported that terrorists had run at IDF soldiers with a gun in one hand and a baby in the other, apparently in hopes that the soldiers would see the child and hold their fire. If soldiers fired, the parent added, the child’s death could be used as propaganda against Israel.” Hamas is also reportedlysmuggling weapons in baby blankets.

Nonetheless, the Obama administration continues to leverage Israel over civilian deaths. In fact, Ben Rhodes, Obama administration Deputy National Security Advisor, said “we do believe Israel can do more to avoid the types of civilian casualties we’ve seen in recent days. We’ve been heartbroken at the loss of Palestinian life, the loss of children. We believe Israel has to take greater care to avoid those types of civilian casualties.”

Hamas, however, wants to maximize such casualties. Last week, Hamas’ Ministry of the Interior specifically told civilians not to go to designated areas to avoid Israeli fire:

An important and urgent message: The [Hamas] Ministry of the Interior and National Security calls on our honorable people in all parts of the [Gaza] Strip to ignore the warnings [to vacate areas near rocket launching sites before Israel bombs them] that are being disseminated by the Israeli occupation through manifestos and phone messages, as these are part of a psychological war meant to sow confusion on the [Palestinian] home front, in light of the [Israeli] enemy’s security failure and its confusion and bewilderment.

On July 8, Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri stated, “The people oppose the Israeli fighter planes with their bodies alone…I think this method has proven effective against the occupation. It also reflects the nature of our heroic and brave people, and we, the [Hamas] movement, call on our people to adopt this method in order to protect the Palestinian homes.”

By cracking down on Israel while Hamas seeks civilian casualties, the Obama administration ensures the deaths of more Jews and more Palestinians. But at least Obama can sleep well in his limo between fundraisers, knowing he has told the Jews a thing or two.

Terror Group Tied to Turkish Gov’t Recruits Hamas Human Shields

Terror Group Tied to Turkish Gov’t Recruits Hamas Human Shields, Clarion ProjectRyan Mauro, July 24, 2014

The head of the ‘charity’ said the purpose of the shields is to spark a war between Israel and Turkey and the broader Muslim world.

A terror-linked charity closely linked to the Turkish government is organizing human shields in the Gaza Strip and pledging to “erect the flag of Islam everywhere.” Prime Minister Erdogan is a top backer of Hamas and allows this charity, the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH), to operate.

IHH’s website has a photo of the sign-up event in front of the Israeli embassy. The website refers to the Hamas terrorists targeted by Israel as “resistance fighters.” CNN Turkey reports that IHH has signed up at least 73 volunteers to act as human shields in Gaza, with 38 being women.

Another page on the website talks about an IHH press conference where its president, Bulent Yildirim, openly talked about its organizing of human shields. Its press release was endorsed by the Association of Muslim Scholars, a body led by the spiritual leader of Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

“We, as IHH started the human shield project,” Yildirim said.

He said that it is negotiating safe passage with the Syrian government and if the Assad regime refuses, they will arrive by boat. He also called on Muslim countries to “provide weaponry support for self-protection.”

Shockingly, Yildirim said the objective of sending the human shields is to spark a war between Israel and Turkey and the broader Muslim world. He explained:

“[W]e will tell Turkey that they will have to protect us. When we are passing by sea, if Israel fires at the Turkish ships protecting us, they will come face to face with the Israel and Turkey alliance. We are looking at how this war will end up. We are ready.”

The long-term goal of IHH is to create a caliphate, as Yildirim stated matter-of-factly:

“Israel has done what we could not do. Israel has laid the foundation of an Islamic Union by attacking Gaza. I believe that soon, all Muslim countries will unite to become members of the establishment of the Islamic Union,” Yildirim said.

IHH is also organizing protests in Turkey. At one event, which registered people to be human shields, Yildirim said, “Witness the enthusiasm of people gathered here to go to Gaza. We Muslims may show up in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem one day unannounced and we will erect the flag of Islam everywhere.”

IHH is headquartered in Istanbul but operates in 135 countries, including the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. It is best known for its role in the 2010 Mavi Marmara incident, when IHH sent a ship to break the Israeli weapons blockade on Gaza.

According to the UN, the blockade was legal. It was set up to prevent Hamas from importing weapons through the sea. Yildirim said at the IHH press conference that the Mavi Marmara will soon sail to Gaza again.

IHH members on the Mavi Marmara were armed. When Israeli soldiers boarded the vessel, nine IHH members were killed attacking the Israelis. Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan used the opportunity to confront Israel and elevate his stature among Islamists. IHH Deputy Director Huseyin Oruc said he was warmly embraced by the Deputy Prime Minister after the incident and “we have good coordination with Mr. Erdogan.”

Up to 10 MPs from Erdogan’s AK political party planned to board the ship but were told by the government not to. At least 21 people on IHH’s board of directors at the time were involved with Erdogan’s AK party. One IHH official was the chairman of the parliament’s foreign affairs committee.

According to its website, the Turkish parliament bestowed IHH with an “Award of Honor” in 2007. In 2009, Yildirim spoke at a Hamas event and declared, “All the peoples of the Islamic world would want a leader like Recep Tayyip Erdogan.”

IHH is reacting to the latest fighting between Israel and Hamas with extremist incitement, just as Erdogan is. Erdogan says Israel has “surpassed Hitler in barbarism” and has launched a campaign of“systematic genocide.” IHH falsely claims that Israel is firing missiles randomly into Gaza “without considering women and children.”

IHH’s links to Hamas would only encourage Erdogan to embrace the group. In 2010, Erdogan declared that Hamas is not a terrorist group. His government supports Hamas politically and financially and even harbors Hamas leaders. Erdogan is also an unshakeable friend of the Muslim Brotherhood, the parent organization of Hamas.

Germany, the Netherlands and Israel have all banned IHH as a terrorist organization. The U.S. has not, even though 87 Senatorshave requested it, including Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and prominent leaders of both political parties.

The U.S. government has indirectly admitted that IHH is linked to terrorism. In 2008, the Treasury Department sanctioned the Union of Good, a network of charities, because it was “created by Hamas leadership to transfer funds to the organization.” IHH is a member of the Union of Good.

In 2009, a senior Treasury Department official addressed IHH’s terrorist ties with Turkish officials. A leaked State Departmentdocument records that the official mentioned how IHH is “providing material assistance to Hamas.”

In 2010, the State Department said it could not prove links between IHH and Al Qaeda but is “greatly concern[ed]” about IHH’s meetings with Hamas leaders. The State Department earlier said it was considering labeling IHH as a Foreign Terrorist Organization. It never happened.

The links of IHH to Hamas, labeled by the U.S. as a Foreign Terrorist Organization, are irrefutable. The two lavish praise upon each other. IHH sponsored a funeral for a Hamas leader named Mohammad Said Heyam. IHH’s campaign coordinator in Europe, Muhammad Sawalha, used to be a senior Hamas leader before moving to the United Kingdom.

French counterterrorism magistrate Judge Jean-Louis Bruguiere has documented links between IHH and Al Qaeda as well. For example, he has referred to phone calls between IHH and an Al Qaeda safe house in 1996. Turkish police raids on IHH in 1997 found strong evidence of its involvement in violent jihad.

The Danish Institute for International Studies quotes  from his report:

It appears that the detained members of IHH were going to fight in Afghanistan, Bosnia, and Chechnya … The essential goal of this Association was to illegally arm its membership for overthrowing democratic, secular, and constitutional order present in Turkey and replacing it with an Islamic state founded on the Shariah.

Under the cover of this organization known under the name of IHH, [IHH leaders] acted to recruit veteran soldiers in anticipation of the coming holy war. In particular, some men were sent into war zones in Muslim countries in order to acquire combat experience. On the spot, the formation of a military unit was assured. In addition, towards the purpose of obtaining political support from these countries, financial aid was transferred [from IHH], as well as caches of firearms, knives, and pre-fabricated explosives.

In 2001, federal prosecutors called upon the magistrate as an expert witness in the trial of Al Qaeda terrorist Ahmed Ressam. He was involved in the “Millennium Bomb Plot” to attack the Los Angeles International Airport.

Bruguiere testified that IHH had an “important role” in the Al Qaeda plot. He referred to phone calls from the terror cell’s apartment to IHH in Istanbul.

In 2011, two IHH members were arrested in Somalia after meeting with Al-Shabaab, Al Qaeda’s affiliate there. They traveled to an area known to be under the control of the terrorist group; IHH says they were delivering humanitarian aid to refugees.

The Erdogan government clashed with its own law enforcement earlier this year when it took action against IHH and Al Qaeda. In early January,  Turkish police stopped an IHH truck that was suspected of transferring weapons to Syria. The officers involved were retaliated against and moved to new jobs. The public prosecutorfiled a complaint against the government for obstructing justice.

About two weeks later, Turkish police raided six IHH offices as part of a terrorism investigation and arrested 23 people for allegedly having links to Al Qaeda. It was reported that two were senior Al Qaeda operatives. The lead police officer was immediately fired and the raids were condemned by the Deputy Prime Minister. The eight involved prosecutors had their bodyguards reassigned and a second police chief was fired.

IHH operates in Turkey without any interference from Erdogan as it supports Hamas and recruits human shields. Yet, the U.S. hasn’t followed Germany, the Netherlands and Israel in listing IHH as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

Erdogan’s government would erupt in anger if the U.S. treated IHH like the terrorist entity it undoubtedly is, but that is the action required to counter the organization’s terrorist activities. At the same time, the U.S. needs to initiate a reevaluation of Ankara’s membership in NATO member since this is just the latest in a string of actions taken by the Turkish government in support of extremists and terrorism.

The IDF continues to advance in the Sajayia neighborhood of Gaza, a Hamas stronghold. Sajayia is a Hamas stronghold which the IDF has described as a Hamas fotress.

The neighborhood is used for storing and launching rockets, and also contains dozens of terror tunnels, and is full of armed Hamas terrorists, who use the population as human shields for their terror attacks.

6 tunnels were found on Sunday, including a tunnel that was 1.2 kilometers (.75 miles) long. It was full of explosives, and access to it was via a house in Gaza. It exited into Israel, and was going to be used for a mega-terror attack.

In heavy battles overnight in the Sajayia neighborhood, the IDF killed 10 terrorists in gun battles.

In a separate battle, an IAF strike took out the had of a Hamas surveillance unit.

20 terrorists were arrested, and number of them have been brought to interrogation.

More than a dozen rockets were launched at Israel overnight. Iron Dome intercepted 2 of them targeting Be’er Sheva.

A total of 1790 rockets have been fired at Israel since the operation began.

Three soldiers were injured in the fighting.

A full-scale invasion looms

Op-ed: Gloating at the Israelis it is killing, blackening Israel’s name by operating among Gaza’s civilians, and with much of its leadership and terror capacity intact, Hamas is drawing Israel ever deeper into the Strip

As the IDF grapples with Hamas’s underground infrastructure, terror tunnels and rocket attacks, Israelis are gradually internalizing the extent of the Gaza Islamist regime’s preparation for this conflict, and the cynicism of its strategy.

Two weeks into this conflict, and despite the immense scale of the Israeli Air Force’s strikes at Hamas targets, about 100 rockets a day are still being fired at Israel, and the ground offensive is proving anything but straightforward, with Hamas demonstrably capable of inflicting significant casualties and drawing the IDF ever-deeper into Gaza.

If this is increasingly dismaying for Israeli citizens, Hamas’s strategies come as no surprise to the Israeli army or political leadership. For months, military chiefs have been warning about both the expanded Hamas rocket threat, and the fortified “underground Gaza” that was being constructed. This writer wrote five months ago – and I certainly wasn’t among the first to know — about the Gaza workshops producing M-75 rockets that would be directed at Tel Aviv next time, about the cross-border tunnels, and about Hamas’s underground network inside the Strip which it would use to target Israeli land forces, to move its gunmen undetected from place to place during warfare, to house its command and communication facilities, and to protect its leadership.

Being forewarned, however, has not made the challenge any less complex. As the IDF casualty figures rise, and Hamas as of Sunday can both brag about killing Israelis and disseminate terrible footage and images of Palestinian civilian casualties in the Gaza residential areas from which it so cynically operates, that challenge to Israel’s strategists is acute.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s stated goal for this conflict was to attain sustained security and calm for the people of Israel — an essential goal, indeed. But Hamas has no interest in giving Israel any such thing. Its overall stated objective remains the destruction of the State of Israel. Its interim objective is ensuring that its rule in Gaza is maintained and flourishes, at maximal pain to Israel, and no matter what the cost to Gazans. As the deputy head of its political bureau Moussa Abu Marzouk told Mahmoud Abbas last week in Cairo, “What are 200 martyrs compared with lifting the siege?” — a reference to the Israeli-Egyptian security blockade that had so weakened the Gaza economy and thus so harmed Hamas’s standing in Gaza before this round of conflict erupted.

As Israel’s losses mount in Gaza, its disinclination to send troops into the death traps Hamas has prepared seems likely to result in more scenes such as those in Shejaiya on Sunday morning — with Gaza civilians terribly, fatally, caught between Israel’s imperative to tackle Hamas and Hamas’s cynical use of Gazans to protect it.

The notion that such deaths in Gaza might cause Hamas to seek a ceasefire seems extremely far-fetched. “What are 200 martyrs…?” asked Abu Marzouk.

Hence the significance of Tzipi Livni’s refusal, in a Friday night TV interview, to rule out the possibility of this conflict expanding to the point where Israel seeks to bring down Hamas altogether. Her Channel 2 interviewers almost fell off their chairs when the most dovish member of the Israeli security cabinet said she wasn’t ruling out that or any other option.

When Hamas is gloating at the deaths of soldiers, the challenge posed by its terror tunnels, and the disruption its rockets are causing, when it is drawing Israel ever-deeper into Gaza and blackening Israel’s image in the process, and when its will and capability to kill Israelis remains potent, she and the rest of the Israeli leadership can hardly dismiss the idea of Israel having to expand this operation into a full-scale invasion to oust the Hamas regime. Which is where we may now be headed.

“Our goal remains, to strike a significant blow to Hamas’ terror capabilities so that the citizens of Israel can live in safety and security,” read another tweet.

In a statement, the IDF said that ground forces in large numbers have joined the military activities which are focusing on the terrorist infrastructure in Gaza.

“The IDF operation was carried out pursuant to the decision of the political echelon and according to the IDF’s operational plans and will continue, depending on a security assessment by the IDF General Staff,” said the statement.

CAIRO – Egypt has no plans to revise its cease-fire proposal to end fighting in Gaza between Israel and Hamas, which has rejected the initiative, Cairo’s foreign minister said on Saturday.

“It provides the needs of all sides and we will continue offering it and we hope to get their support as soon as possible,” said Sameh Shukri at a news conference with his French counterpart Laurent Fabius.

The comments were made after Fabius held talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on the Gaza crisis.

Fighting between Israel and the Palestinian terror group in Gaza continued on Saturday as

Israel agreed to an Egyptian cease-fire proposal on Tuesday, which Hamas rejected.

After days of waiting and deliberation, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Thursday night directed the IDF to send ground troops into Gaza to strike the terror tunnels into Israel.

On Thursday, a temporary five-hour humanitarian cease-fire was interrupted by rocket fire from Gaza.

Hamas said on Saturday morning that its operatives were exchanging fire with IDF forces within Israeli lines, and claimed to have caused injuries.

“Our fighters are operating behind enemy lines. There are injuries on the other side,” Hamas claimed.

The IDF would not confirm the reports.

Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch said during a visit to Ashdod that there were clashes between IDF soldiers and terrorists on the Gaza border.

Sniper fire in the northern Gaza Strip wounded an IDF soldier on Saturday morning, the military confirmed.

Meanwhile, the Home Front Command prohibited travel in the Eshkol Regional Council due to the security situation.

The IDF on Saturday pressed ahead with a ground operation in the Gaza Strip, as Palestinian militants kept firing rockets deep into Israel’s heartland.

Tanks were positioned in the morning near the border with Gaza, on the third day of the land campaign.

A rocket launched from Gaza landed in an open area near Kiryat Malachi mid-morning Saturday as a fresh volley of projectiles were launched at Israel. No injuries were reported.

Air raid sirens sounded intermittently in southern Israeli communities on Saturday morning, including in the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council, Ashdod, Gedera, Kiryat Malachi and Dimona.

Three IDF soldiers were wounded overnight during a confrontation with terrorists in the Gaza Strip. On Saturday morning the military confirmed that one soldier was seriously wounded and two others were lightly wounded in the incident.

The wounded soldiers were evacuated to an Israeli hospital for medical treatment.

US Secretary of State John Kerry was expected to arrive in Cairo on Saturday to discuss efforts to bring about a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas as the IDF’s ground incursion launched Thursday night against the terror group continued, Egyptian media reported.

Channel 2’s live footage filmed from outside the Gaza Strip intermittently showed isolated billows of smoke streaming out of from apparent explosions in Gaza.

Verdict on UN Security Council Emergency Session?

The United Nation Security Council held an emergency session on Friday to address the escalation of violence between Gaza and Israel.

U.N. Undersecretary Jeffrey Feltman spoke at the beginning of the session. He announced that U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon will be arriving in the region tomorrow, Saturday, July 20, in an attempt to help rein in the hostilities.

Feltman also mentioned several points raised by acting leader of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas. He said Abbas believes the PA should be ensuring security along the Philadelphi corrider, and that there has to be one entity in charge of both all Palestinian Arabs, including those in Gaza.

At the conclusion of his statement, Feltman waxed rhapsodic about the holy grail of the “peace process:” the creation of a Palestinian State so that the “Two State Solution” can herald the dawning of the era of peace and harmony.

And then, as if cynics were writing the script instead of people who actually believe this malarky, the U.N. ambassador from “Palestine” spoke, making it crystal clear that the Palestinian Arabs have no interest in anything like peace with Israel.

The representative from “Palestine,” Riyad Mansour, launched into an invective-filled diatribe accusing Israel of intentionally causing the murder of Arab babies, and insisting that the brutal occupation by the savage Israelis is the root cause of every problem in the region.

Mansour even stated that Israel “cynically used the deaths of three Israeli teenagers” as an excuse to restart its war machine in order to inflict the greatest harm possible on the poor Gazans who are in a stranglehold due to the illegal embargo and closure of its borders.

Not content to use every bloodthirsty adjective to describe Israel, Mansour also spent a good portion of his speaking time reading names and ages of children he claimed have been killed by Israel.

For his part, Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Ron Prosor seized the opportunity to engage in rhetorical warfare, although of a far more subtle type.

“Hamas lives by violence and celebrates death. I want to be clear, our forces are fighting in Gaza, but they are not fighting the people of Gaza,” Prosor said.

Prosor also took the opportunity to castigate the nearly immediate, nearly universal international support for the Palestinian unity government. He said that simply allowed a fig leaf for Hamas to continue its violence and reign of terror against Israelis.

Neither of the parties’ spokespeople struck a surprising note. Perhaps the biggest surprise to wary observers was the statement made by U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Samantha Power.

Power’s brief statement was emphatic about the need to de-escalate the violence. However, she did not spin any fairy tales about how it is only the lack of a Palestinian State which is blocking the peace train from rolling through the region. Nor did Power equate the two parties to the conflict. Power said the indiscriminate rocket fire from Gaza into Israel had to stop, and she called on both parties to try their utmost to reduce civilian casualties.

At least at this point, given that there were no marches in the aisles of the U.N. demanding Israel cease so that Hamas can continue firing (a joke Prosor employed during his remarks), it was not an altogether terrible day for Israel at the United Nations.
