A Career Sexual Predator Makes the Case for Hillary at the DNC, Front Page Magazine, Daniel Greenfield, July 27, 2016

“Hillary Clinton took me through Hell.”

Those were the words of a woman who was raped and beaten into a coma when she was twelve years old. Instead of helping that twelve year old girl, Hillary Clinton aided her rapist. She falsely accused the abused child who would never be able to have a family of her own after the assault of “a tendency to seek out older men”. Then Hillary Clinton was recorded on tape laughing at how her client had failed a lie detector test while relishing describing how she had gotten him off.

Tonight’s Democratic National Convention theme was “A Lifetime of Fighting for Children and Families”. But this was how Hillary Clinton’s “fight” for children and families really began. And Tuesday’s highlight was an address by a career sexual predator whom she covered up for and whose victims she smeared.

That sexual predator was her husband, Bill Clinton.

Bill Clinton put even more women through hell than Hillary did. And he isn’t done just yet. Amid the freakshow of the Carter mummy phoning in, the mothers of criminals, random mildly famous celebrities, the Sandernista walkout and Howard Dean doing the scream that ended his career one more time, the other Clinton took the stage.

In an evening featuring discussions about sex trafficking, the highlight was a sexual predator. In an evening that featured 9/11 victims, the highlight was the man who left America vulnerable to 9/11 and refused to take out Osama bin Laden.

And Bill being Bill, the lying didn’t take too long to get started.

Bill Clinton told the hooting and yapping DNC audience that Hillary Clinton wanted to help child abuse victims. But a child rape victim back home knows the truth and we know the truth.  He got up on stage and lied again about the Children’s Health Insurance Program, one of those things which, like bringing peace to Northern Ireland and landing under fire in Bosnia, Hillary Clinton can’t stop lying about.

In Bill Clinton’s new version, Ted Kennedy and Orrin Hatch didn’t exist and Hillary Clinton got it all done.

But the Clintons always have a thousand new versions of every lie that they tell. And Bill’s entire speech was one big lie. The version of Hillary Clinton that he describes, an obsessive crusader for children who is also a devoted wife and mother has only one tiny problem with it. It’s an expert work of fiction.

The real Hillary Clinton hit up the Boys and Girls Club for $200K to speak for them. The real Hillary saw every non-profit organization working for education, children and any combination of the two as a piggy bank to loot for her greedy husband and herself. The real Hillary, the one revealed by the emails, is incapable of doing basic tasks and requires a horde of assistants to do anything for her.

The image of Hillary Clinton on her “hands and knees” putting liner paper in Chelsea’s dorm drawers is as real as Bill Clinton’s family values. The real Hillary Clinton requires people to pose before she steps into the picture so they don’t waste her time. The real Hillary Clinton laughed at the thought of a rapist beating a child into a coma and then getting off. The real Hillary Clinton has never met a charity she didn’t steal from. The real Hillary Clinton dislikes people and has her assistant elbow them out of the way.

Bill Clinton claimed that they never intended for Hillary to run for office in New York until New York Democrats “urged Hillary to run”. Then they offered to sell her the Brooklyn Bridge at a discount.

The Clintons didn’t move to New York for their health. They did it as part of a long term plan to get back into the White House. Tonight was a major step in the fulfillment of that plan.

Bill’s version of the Clintons, who moved to New York without ever giving thought to a political career plan, are as real as the “loving and caring” Hillary who just couldn’t stop trying to help children. When she wasn’t ripping off their charities or aiding their rapists.

It’s an insulting lie that treats the DNC audience like chumps. And it’s not the only one.

Bill claimed that Hillary “worked for farmers, for winemakers, for small businesses and manufacturers”. Hillary’s idea of a small business is a major bank or a multinational corporation. Hillary wouldn’t use a small business to clean between her toes. Not unless it could pony up a six figure check for her use.

He reeled off the usual lies about her foreign policy experience. The Iran sanctions. The worthless deal with Russia. And the even more worthless cease fire with Hamas in which the firing did not cease.

But we are told that she “put climate change at the center of our foreign policy”. That would explain why we’re losing the War on Terror.

The truth is that the Clintons are liars. That Hillary’s only qualifications for her current nomination are that she was Bill Clinton’s wife. And her only qualification to be his wife was her willingness to cover for his crimes.

Everything else is a lie.

Bill Clinton spoke one truth in his entire speech as he had Hillary suggest that “nobody would ever vote for me”. That much is true. Hillary Clinton doesn’t win votes. She wins rigged elections.

And that’s what this was.

Even in a night in which Chuck Schumer and Jimmy Carter did their best to put the DNC audience to sleep, they are still more charismatic and better speakers than Hillary Clinton.

The walkout during Hillary Clinton’s nomination left hundreds of empty seats aptly symbolizing her appeal. It doesn’t exist. It never did. America loves Hillary Clinton as much as Bill ever did.

Not even other Democrats like her.

Hillary Clinton has ruthlessly clawed her way to power. She has supporters, but no friends. After decades of victimizing women on behalf of a career sexual predator, she brought that predator up on stage to tell the world how much she loves families and children.

The best thing that can be said about the convention is that, like the rest of the Clinton campaign, it’s unremarkable. It’s bland and it’s boring. It’s full of the expected politicians and celebrities saying all the expected things about Hillary. But that’s what alibis look like. And that’s what this convention is. An alibi.

The Clintons are criminals who pretend to be activists. They’re greedy thieves who claim to want to make things better. They maintain a thin façade of normalcy as an alibi. It fooled some people a few decades ago. But it’s fooling fewer and fewer people. Even fewer and fewer Democrats.

Tonight was about making Democrats feel better about the unlikable candidate that they’re stuck with. And it didn’t work. No amount of lies about how much Hillary loves children and 9/11 victims will fix that. No amount of celebrities taking cheap shots at Trump will do it either.

Hillary barely eked out a win in a rigged election. Now she’s about to face a real one.

The Associated Press Plays the Race Card

July 27, 2016

The Associated Press Plays the Race Card, Power LineJOHN HINDERAKER, July 26, 2016

The Democrats’ campaign against Donald Trump consists mostly of branding him a bigot. Thus, they have sent out many emails like this one:

dnc race card

Stop bigotry! No details are necessary.

The Associated Press was once a straightforward, relatively nonpolitical news source, but those days are long gone. Now some of the most hard-core Democratic Party advocacy comes from the AP. Thus, it is no surprise that the AP is trying to advance the Democrats’ narrative that Trump is a bigot.

On July 22, the AP headlined: “Critics: Trump speech signals shift to coded race language.” This is an old trick–make a “news story” out of what critics say. The occasion was Trump’s convention acceptance speech. And, of course, talking about “coded” language allows reporters to impute to politicians things they never said, based on their enemies’ fantasies.

[S]ome observers say he’s turning to code words to gin up racial animosity and fear among America’s white voters.

Is that assertion true? The AP takes no responsibility, it is just what “some observers say.” Don’t hold your breath waiting for an article from the AP about the Democrats ginning up racial animosity and fear among African-Americans. That would actually make a good news story, but you won’t be seeing it any time soon.

Trump “didn’t get on stage and issue a bunch of racial epithets,” said Emory University political scientist Andra Gillespie, who watched his acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention. “We didn’t hear the N-word, and we didn’t hear other words that may offend many people. But just because he didn’t use racial slurs doesn’t mean he didn’t frame issues in a way that people in racial and ethnic groups find problematic.”

What does that mean? I have absolutely no idea. The AP didn’t inquire, and doesn’t tell us.

Ian Haney Lopez, author of “Dog Whistle Politics: How Coded Racial Appeals Have Reinvented Racism and Wrecked the Middle Class,” went further, saying Trump’s speech surpassed even the coded racial language of Richard Nixon in 1968.

“Coded racial language” is big on the left, but note that so far, the AP hasn’t quoted a single word that Donald Trump actually said. Not one. The AP goes on in the same vein, quoting Trump’s far-left critics, but never citing any of Trump’s own words. Except for a stray phrase or two, like this:

Some have pointed out that Trump’s slogan “America First” was also the slogan of the America First Committee, an isolationist, anti-Semitic group whose primary goal was to keep the United States from joining Britain in the fight against Nazi Germany. The group opposed the acceptance of shiploads of Jewish refugees fleeing Nazi persecution.

Flawed messaging on Trump’s part? Perhaps. But these days, anti-Semitism exists almost exclusively in the Democratic Party, not the Republican. And however the phrase may have been used 80 years ago, today “America first” is a perfectly straightforward way of expressing the proposition that America’s government should put the interests of its own citizens ahead of all others–a proposition with which the Democratic Party will not argue, but neither will it agree.

There is much more along the same lines; read it for yourself if you like. The next day, July 23, the AP came out with another anti-Trump racial smear: “Energized white supremacists cheer Trump convention message.” It is more of the same: Trump doesn’t actually say anything about race, but we liberals will tell you what he really means.

They don’t like to be called white supremacists.

The well-dressed men who gathered in Cleveland’s Ritz-Carlton bar after Donald Trump’s speech accepting the Republican nomination for president prefer the term “Europeanists,” “alt-right,” or even “white nationalists.” They are also die-hard Trump supporters.

Sure. And tomorrow, the AP will run a story on how Communists and Socialists are cheering for Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. They won’t do that, of course, because fringe people are of interest only if they support Republicans. It’s just another day in the lives of liberal journalists who are devoted to advancing the interests of their party.

Leaked DNC email: Democrats delighted that news coverage exaggerated anti-Trump protest size

Leaked DNC email: Democrats delighted that news coverage exaggerated anti-Trump protest size, Sharyl Attkisson.com, July 26, 2016

Last May, when Donald Trump met with House Speaker Paul Ryan at Republican National Committee headquarters in Washington D.C., anti-Trump protesters “swarmed” the area.

Well, maybe not so much. It turns out news reports at the time seem to have exaggerated the truth.

That’s one thing we learned from newly-leaked Democratic National Committee (DNC) emails. Democrats had tried to organize a much larger turnout but failed. They were surprised and delighted by reporters’ mischaracterizations of the event.

“Tv coverage of protest great” declared DNC communications official T.J. Helmstetter in an email to DNC National Communications Director Luis Miranda on May 12, 2016.

“Shockingly good coverage despite abysmal turnout. CNN and MSNBC using prominently.”

Miranda responds: “Yes, but going forward, when our allies screw up and don’t deliver bodies in time, we either send all our interns out there or we stay away from it.. we don’t want to own a bad picture.”

“The Hill” published a story by a writer named Harper Neidig that made it sound like the area was crawling with Trump opponents and supporters. The story was accompanied by a photo showing four anti-Trump protesters holding signs.

“The Washington Post” published a story by a writer named Elise Tieback that also implied Trump’s presence had created unprecedented disruption, particularly by drawing a large group of protesters. She declared, “In each successive visit to the RNC, Trump is attracting bigger crowds, bigger protests, bigger media attention. Everyone crams into the small two-block area that surrounds the RNC building, many people just taking in the spectacle. Thursday’s meeting between Trump and Ryan (R-Wis.) was no exception.”

“Abysmal turnout” but “great” news coverage.

Guess Who Filled in for Wasserman-Schultz Yesterday

July 26, 2016

Guess Who Filled in for Wasserman-Schultz Yesterday, Power LinePaul Mirengoff, July 26, 2016

If you said Baltimore mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, you understand the modern Democratic party very well. Rawlings-Blake formally opened the proceedings in place of the deposed Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.

Readers will recall that, as rioting commenced in Baltimore, Rawlings-Blake stated:

It’s a very delicate balancing act because while we try to make sure that they were protected from the cars and the other things that were going on, we also gave those who wished to destroy space to do that as well, and we work very hard to keep that balance and to put ourselves in the best position to de-escalate.

(Emphasis added)

Later on, when rioting ran rampant, Rawlings-Blake had the police stand down.

Under Rawlings-Blake, the Baltimore police force has become hugely demoralized. The force is shrinking and the murder rate is soaring.

Kent Scheidegger of the Crime and Consequences blog writes:

If the Democratic Party wanted to make this election all about who is on the criminals’ side and who is on the law-abiding people’s side, with themselves being the wrong side, it could hardly have chosen a more effective face to put forward to open its convention.

We know that Donald Trump wants to make the election in significant part about who is on the criminals’ side. During his acceptance speech, Trump declared himself “the law and order candidate.”

He is. By default.

ISIS Ignored: Moral Sickness at the Democratic Convention

ISIS Ignored: Moral Sickness at the Democratic Convention, PJ MediaRoger L Simon, July 26, 2016

(Of course there was no mention of Islamic terrorism. Hillary plans to bring lots more “Syrian refugees” to America. — DM)

Forget the emails. Forget the angry Bernie followers and the various pathetic internecine betrayals.  The real story from day one at the Democratic Convention is that in sixty-one speeches never once did these so-called “liberals” mention terrorism.

The next morning, in fact almost simultaneously, if you take into account the the time zones, an 84-year old priest in Rouen was having his throat cut by ISIS maniacs during morning mass. The Islamic terrorists had him kneel, filming his death as they did their evil work. Nuns were held hostage.

Horrifying as it is, it wasn’t really surprising..  Such happenings have been going on with increased regularity in Germany and France (not to mention Orlando).

Yet the Democrats chose to ignore.  Why?

The answer is simple:  it doesn’t play well for them.  They’re scared it plays better for the Republicans and Donald Trump.  So they don’t mention it.

Also, it doesn’t fit with their morally narcissistic narrative that all religions are equal.

Talk about morally sick – that idea is truly that.  In fact, its absurd. It is also cowardly.

Media and politicians go on with regularity calling the terrorists cowardly. They are not the cowards.  The Islamist terrorists are quite willing to give up their lives for their own deranged religious cause.  It is the media and politicians that are the real cowards in their inability to confront them.

Obama – and now Hillary’s – Democratic Party does their best to look the other way and pretend it’s not there.  Obama is so deranged himself he continues to downplay terrorism and say climate change is the real problem.  When you think about that objectively, it sounds almost insane, yet the press swallows it.  Yesterday, John Kerry said air conditioning was the problem.

The idea that more refugees from Syria are being allowed into this country by Obama and Hillary boggles the mind.  Do these politicians want to kill us and our families.  Don’t that have children themselves?  Oh, yes, they have security personnel of their own.  But 99.9% of their constituents don’t.

And yet the citizens of the USA elect these people.  Enough.  Wake up, America.

No Visible American Flags Present At The Democrat Convention

The Daily Caller is at the Democratic National Convention and it doesn’t look like there are any American flags.

The stage is bland and grey, with no red, white or blue present. A thorough look at the crowd present also turns up no American flags.

The Day the Bernie Dream Died

July 26, 2016

The Day the Bernie Dream Died, Front Page Magazine, Daniel Greenfield, July 26, 2016

bernie sad

Near Philadelphia’s City Hall, an obese woman wearing a marijuana leaf bikini was telling a television reporter why she supported Bernie Sanders. City Hall, once the tallest building in the world, is a gloriously magnificent edifice whose pillars are held up by representatives of all the races of the world and whose clock tower is topped by a 37-foot statue of William Penn, was besieged by Sandernistas.

The Democratic convention was underway. Bernie Sanders had endorsed Hillary Clinton. But his followers still believed. If not in Bernie, then in the radical movement that had coalesced around him.

A cheerful woman wearing a “Bernie or Bust” t-shirt told me that even if Bernie won, she would be voting for Jill Stein and the Green Party. It was unclear how Bernie Sanders could possibly win. Let alone how Jill Stein could win. But Bernie and Jill were against drones, banks and GMOs while Hillary Clinton was for them. And the mood grew uglier as the temperature approached one hundred degrees.

The crazier elements had converged around the historic Arch Street United Methodist Church which was “training” activists to protest non-violently. There were illegal aliens in green t-shirts laughing uproariously and scowling elderly Trotsky fan club members wearing BDS buttons surrounded by posters denouncing America for its “ongoing war” in Iraq (against ISIS) not to mention Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Pakistan and most of the rest of the world. The Revolutionary Communist party marched angrily past.

There were also “Bernie Peacekeepers” wearing plastic placards proclaiming that they do not support violence of any kind. If anyone doubted their seriousness, the placards had a rainbow peace sign.

But the core Bernie elements had gathered around City Hall. They had marched the day before when there was no convention. And they were going to march today. A giant banner denounced the “racist drug war”. The ragged crowd carrying it had clearly found themselves on the wrong end of that war. Younger fans wore Bernie t-shirts. Entire families with dreadlocks held up handmade signs.

There was something millenarian and apocalyptic about the scene. Everyone knew that Bernie was going to announce that the revolution was over. And no one wanted to go home.

Officially the Democrats were here to coronate Hillary. MSNBC had set up a giant stage outside the Independence Visitor Center where tickets were being distributed to Independence Hall and its recreations of the rooms where the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were signed. MSNBC personalities leered at viewers from giant video monitors and NBC staffers had swamped the Independence Hall bathrooms. But on the ground, it was all Bernie, Bernie and more Bernie.

There were no Hillary shirts in the streets. It was all Bernie. Silhouettes of Bernie’s glasses, Bernie and his bird, Bernie as a strapping young socialist and Bernie speaking to the masses. He was their Stalin or Saddam. His image was on shirts, signs and banners. Meanwhile elderly DNC delegates wearing blue lanyards nervously shuttled between bars eagerly catering to delegates. The painted donkeys in the squares, a tired gimmick, mostly went ignored. Even an “I’m With Her” button was a rarity.

In a hushed voice, a DNC delegate told me that it was important to elect someone in the middle. But the message in the streets was dramatically different. It wasn’t even about Bernie anymore. Bernie Sanders had tried to address his supporters asking them to behave and they had booed him. And that made the booing of Hillary’s name at the convention inevitable. Bernie the politician had sold out. But the radical left had already created Bernie the character who would go on fighting even when the politician wouldn’t. Bernie could start the revolution. But he couldn’t stop it. Because it was never about him.

The most extreme Sandernistas had converged on Philly certain that they would win. And for all of Hillary’s elaborate organization, her networks of influential cronies, she couldn’t stop them from ruining her coronation. The DNC was on the run. Debbie Wasserman Schultz had resigned. And DNC delegates were outnumbered by angry radical leftists waving signs denouncing capitalism.

The radical left was trying to devour the Democratic Party ahead of schedule. And it wasn’t a pleasant sight. Sandernistas crowded the 30th Street Train Station holding forth on a rigged election. They had arrived on stuffy Amtrak trains clutching wadded up cardboard signs. There were angry grad students down from Yale upset about income inequality and anti-war activists from New York City toting models of drones and photos of crying children. Meanwhile the temperature kept on climbing.

Philly was an oven. The locals apologized for the weather as if they had somehow caused it. But the sullen unforgiving heat seemed to echo the mood of Sanders supporters. The hotter it got, the louder and crazier the chants became. At the heart of what was supposed to be a celebration of Hillary, a passionate portion of her party’s base was demanding that she be sent to jail. It was a secret wish that Bernie Sanders had been forced to swallow and abandon, but his supporters had not forgotten.

And they would not forget.

Even before Bernie Sanders could sell out his followers at the DNC, the rising tension reached a crescendo and broke. The heat that had been growing all day could continue no more. Torrents of rain gushed down from the sky. Lightning flashed past skyscraper scaffolding and thunder boomed louder than the loudspeakers. Furious gusts of wind blew rain past a handful of umbrellas that had been used as parasols against the sun. The MSNBC stage was quickly deserted. And the Sandernistas, like drowned rats, raised up their cardboard signs as makeshift umbrellas against the rain.

Hours later, the final betrayal took hold. Bernie Sanders spoke at the DNC and sold out his loyalists. But they too had been preparing for the end.

More than one Sandernista spoke wistfully to me of Jill Stein and the Green Party. One leftist messiah had failed them. Bernie Sanders had put the Democratic Party ahead of the radical left’s agenda. But there were always uncompromising leftist radicals who would never be practical no matter what.

Sanders’ own supporters booed him. They booed any mention of Hillary. And they rode Amtrak home clutching wet signs calling for socialized medicine and an end to capitalism. Whether it is the Soviet Union or the Sanders Union, the left never recognizes that its revolutions have failed. It never learns anything from history except how to hate harder.

The Democratic Party had allowed the left to take over. And the left has no sensible stopping point. It is an endless cycle of revolutions, of mad political agendas and madder personalities that will not stop. Leftists like Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders unleash revolutions that they cannot control.

That is what always happens to the left. It is what happened at Berniegeddon in Philadelphia.

The Bernie dream is dead, but the dream of a totalitarian revolution of the left lives on. Next to the great historical monuments of America, the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, Benjamin Franklin’s grave and the Tomb of the Unknown Revolutionary War Soldier, the left vented its hatred for this country and its desire to erase its existence and its freedoms from the earth.

There Will Be No Bernie Sanders Delegations on DNC Convention Floor

July 25, 2016

There Will Be No Bernie Sanders Delegations on DNC Convention Floor, Washington Free Beacon, July 25, 2016

Demonstrators make their way around downtown, Monday, July 25, 2016, in Philadelphia, during the first day of the Democratic National Convention. On Sunday, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., announced she would step down as DNC chairwoman at the end of the party's convention, after some of the 19,000 emails, presumably stolen from the DNC by hackers, were posted to the website Wikileaks. PHILADELPHIA—Only a handful of state delegations were given floor seats at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia—and none of them voted for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I. Vt.).

Unlike the Republican National Convention, where every delegate received a floor seat, the DNC has apportioned floor seats to delegations loyal to Hillary Clinton.

All of the delegations seated on the floor of the Wells Fargo Arena for the 2016 Democratic National Convention are from states won by Hillary Clinton during the primary campaign.

Delegates from Nebraska, Florida, New York, Virginia, Iowa, Arkansas, Illinois, and Pennsylvania are seated in front of the stage in the arena. The former secretary of state defeated Sanders in primary contests in all of those states.

Delegates from Maine, Oregon, Utah, and Rhode Island were given some of the worst seats in the hall towards the back. The delegation from North Dakota, a state won by Sanders, was tucked away in a cavern behind South Dakota, a state held by Clinton.

ND view

The delegation for Democrats living abroad, a group that voted overwhelmingly for Sanders, is also in the nosebleeds.

The Democratic convention convenes under a cloud of controversy, as thousands of hacked emails from the Democratic National Convention show evidence of pro-Clinton bias on the part of the officially neutral party organization.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) was forced to step down from her role as DNC chairwoman after Sanders called for her resignation on Sunday morning.

Sanders supporters have been a vocal force so far in Philadelphia. Schultz was booed off the stage by Sanders loyalists at a breakfast for Florida delegates. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi had Sanders signs thrust in her face as she attempted to speak with delegates from her home state of California.

Other supporters of the Vermont senator were heard chanting “lock her up” at a Monday morning protest in Philadelphia, a slogan coined by supporters of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump at last week’s convention in Cleveland, Ohio.

Press officials from both the DNC and the convention’s communications team did not respond to inquiries about the delegate seating arrangement.

Update 3:02 p.m.: The headline of this post has been updated. A previous version said no Bernie Sanders delegates would be seated on the DNC convention floor. Individual delegates may be Sanders supporters, but the delegations on the floor will vote for Clinton.

Bernie Sanders Invites Spain’s Anti-Semitic, Anti-Israel Party Leader to Democratic Convention

July 25, 2016

Bernie Sanders Invites Spain’s Anti-Semitic, Anti-Israel Party Leader to Democratic Convention, PJ MediaRon Radosh, July 24, 2016

sanders

Because of the tumult over the WikiLeaks revelations showing how the DNC worked to undermine Bernie Sanders’ candidacy in the Democratic primaries, few people have noticed the controversial guest that Sanders has invited to the Democrats’ convention.

Spanish newspaper ABC reported on July 22 that Paul Bustinduy, secretary of international relations of Spain’s far-left, anti-Semitic party Podemos, is Bernie’s guest.

Although Podemos came in third place in the June 26 Spanish national election, it is a political force to be reckoned with in Spain. Podemos had joined an alliance with other mostly leftist groups in a coalition called United We Can — this was the name Podemos ran under. The alliance included the  United Left, whose main component is members of the old Spanish Communist Party, which on its own has little support in Spain.

Composed of old Communists, Trotskyists, independent revolutionaries, Basque and Catalan nationalists, leftist urban intellectuals, and former supporters of the Socialist Party annoyed at what they perceive as its continuing compromises, United We Can models itself on the Marxist Greek party Syriza. Syriza brought the Greek economy to near total collapse.

To call Podemos blatantly anti-Semitic would not be a false accusation.

In Madrid, the party’s affiliate is called Ahora Madrid. The head of Madrid’s department of culture, Guillermo Zapata, who is a member, tweeted:

“ ‘How do you fit five million Jews in a SEAT 600 [a car]?’ Answer: ‘In an ashtray.’”

In 2012, he tweeted that Israel is “genocidal posing as an advanced democracy,” and resembles Assad’s regime in Syria.

Not surprisingly, United Left and Podemos support the international BDS campaign. They also supported the anti-Israel flotillas that attempted to sail to Gaza in support of Hamas in its war against Israel. They support virtually all measures the anti-Israel European left has proposed.

Podemos is so anti-Israel that it defends a notorious anti-Semitic Spanish magazine, El Jueves.

An English independent socialist internet magazine, Shiraz Socialist, recently ran an article aboutEl Jueves written by Yves Coleman, appropriately titled: “Spanish radical left tolerates anti-Semitism.”

Yves Coleman writes:

Following the publication of anti-Jewish and anti-Semitic cartoons in El Jueves on 10 February 2016, Pablo Iglesias (general secretary of Podemos) and David Fernandez, former member of the CUP in the Catalan Parliament, have, along with other personalities of the “political and cultural world,” signed a petition protesting against any possible complaint which could be filed against the anti-Semitic drawings published by El Jueves.

The magazine, Coleman notes:

… likes to play with the stereotypes of the Jew as a schemer, swindler and liar.

They regularly run cartoons of Jews wearing:

… either payots, long beards, a wide-brimmed hat and a black coat or an IDF military uniform.

One such cartoon, from another Spanish left-wing anti-Semitic group, depicts the “Stay out of Spain, Obama” protest. It shows Obama taking money from the Jews. In the Spanish left, Obama is viewed as an imperialist warmonger.

In another issue, they published the cartoon below about Israel, using the symbols of Hitler’s SS to indicate that Israel is composed of Nazis.

cartoon antisemitism

Although Spain is a nation in which few Jews live, it is also the European country in which anti-Semitic views are most widespread. Unfortunately, the magazine’s writers and editors, like Podemos, hold the same anti-Semitic views that exist among the French left, and especially exist in Jeremy Corbyn’s British Labor Party.

To be a leftist in Spain, France or Britain means that you support anti-Semites, condemn Israel, and feel comfortable comparing it as a nation to the Nazis.

While here, Mr. Bustinduy plans to meet with activists in the Latino community, trade unionists, and leaders of the Black Lives Matter movement — which itself is anti-Israel.

A day before the convention, on July 24, he will participate in a left-wing conference at the University of Pennsylvania called Democracy Rising.

His main purpose, however, is to give his support to Bernie Sanders’ efforts to force the Democratic Party to move much further to the left. Undoubtedly, Bustinduy will complain about the Sanders group’s one big failure: to put an anti-Israel position into the Democratic Party platform.

With most of the media concentrating on reaction to the WikiLeaks release, the invitation to Podemos will most likely go unnoticed. Is there anyone in the mainstream media who will ask Sanders why he offered this invitation to a leader of a Spanish anti-Semitic, anti-Israel political party?
