US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Sunday dismissed Iran’s latest threats against Israel as irrelevant and being made merely for domestic consumption, AFP reported.
She emphasized that she would size up Iran’s true intentions not by its words, but by its actions at the upcoming nuclear talks in Moscow.
“We want to see a diplomatic resolution. We now have an opportunity to achieve it, and we hope it is an opportunity that’s not lost, for everyone’s sake,” she told reporters in Stockholm.
Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, appeared to significantly undermine the prospects of any deal coming out of the Moscow talks with a fiery speech in which he lashed out at what he called the West’s lies and positions on the nuclear issue and said that Iran would respond “like thunder” to any Israeli attack on its nuclear program.
