Is my American english less than sub-optimal or are the students indeed requesting: ” The Univesity must continue and strengthen its commitment to providing sexual assault resources for survivors, etc…” Does this mean that there are too few rapists on the campus, or what else? It looks like an incongruent formulation. Apparently do some people on the campus live in a formulaic world of ideologically coloured code-words, which lost connection with the exact facts on the ground a sentence should actually most naturally express.
