At least four Russian cruise missiles are reported to have accidentally hit the Islamic Republic of Iran, according to two U.S. officials quoted on Thursday by CNN.
The missiles allegedly crashed Wednesday (Oct. 7) as they flew over Iran after being launched from Russian ships in the south Caspian Sea. They were headed for targets in Syria, via the Kurdistani skies of Iran and Iraq, where the missiles were seen flying low in the air.
Russian officials said they coordinated the attack with Syria, Iran, and Lebanon’s Hezbollah guerrilla fighters using air, land and sea forces. The launch involved 26 cruise missiles fired from naval vessels about 900 miles away from their intended targets.
Most of the attack was allegedly focused on Da’esh (ISIS) terrorists, but it was clear that Russia was intent on pushing back Syrian opposition forces who had recently gained ground near the coast as well.
There have also been reports of Russian jets intimidating coalition forces as they fight to support the regime of President Bashar al-Assad. The U.S.-led coalition is fighting Assad’s forces and is backing the self-described “moderate” rebel faction.

These failures do happen and Iran and Russia will understandably deny it.

Actually, this is quite serious. Russia is playing a dangerous game in very ‘tight’ quarters. It’s fortunate the missile didn’t strike Turkey or Israel. Had it done so, we would have had a really bad crisis on all our hands. Syria is turning into a real flashpoint for war.

To think that Netanyahu has been dreaming of bombing Iran for 2 decades and then Putin queue jumps -so rude!

BBC and Washington Post also reported the stray Russian cruise missiles. Until a reputable news agency reports otherwise, I’ll take CNN, BBC, and Washington Post’s word that it happened…and not RT (Russian Times).

Unnamed US Official: Thousands of Orphans Dead After Russian Missiles ‘Fell in Iran’
Unnamed U.S. officials never lie
Thousands of orphans, and at least 5 puppies, are presumed dead after Russian missiles launched from the Caspian Sea missed their targets inside Syria.
The missiles, carrying radioactive cluster munitions that have been outlawed by all civilized nations, landed on an Iranian kindergarten for disabled orphans, according to reliable, anonymous U.S. officials.
But Moscow and Tehran, both in total self-delusional denial, vehemently deny the accusations. Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Gen. Igor Konashenkov said that “any professional knows that during these operations we always fix the target before and after impact. All our cruise missiles hit their target.”
Spoken like someone who just murdered 1,000 disabled orphans, and all of their puppies.
Admit to your crime, Russia.
