Saudi-led coalition ends military operation in Yemen
Saudi-led coalition ends military operation in Yemen, Reuters, April 21, 2015
The Saudi-led coalition bombing Yemen announced on Tuesday the end to a military operation that pounded the Iran-allied Houthi rebels for more than three weeks, a statement read on Saudi-owned Arabiya TV said.
The alliance had achieved its military goals in Yemen through the campaign dubbed “Storm of Resolve” and will now begin a new operation called “Restoring Hope,” it said.
The mission, the statement said, would focus on security at home and counter-terrorism, aid and a political solution in Yemen.

News reports this morning still have the US Navy and the Iranian ships in a ‘standoff’ (notice the quotes).
No one is flinching. Probably nothing will happen. The White House says that a military solution to Yemen is impossible (can you believe that?) and we have no choice but to pave the way for a political solution (typical Obama).
Anyway, it’s still worth getting out the popcorn and kicking back in the old recliner to watch this latest dog and pony show.

We, here at the office, were just discussing the war on cash. Seems the banks-too-big-to-fail want negative interest rates and holding cash is our only escape since cash bears a zero interest rate.
Of course, the government would love it. Not only would the cost of supplying currency be eliminated, the new electronic currency would (and currently does) provide them with a means to monitor virtually everything we do.
Not a pretty sight. Of course, the US constitution gives Congress the power to coin money, but nothing is said about what form it must take.

Wives usually do. 🙂 As for the money, they can put Mickey Mouse on it if it’s still worth $20.
