Two things people are missing about Netanyahu’s speech

Two things people are missing about Netanyahu’s speech, Instapundit, Glen Reynolds, March 3, 2015

(The link will work only today: that’s the way Instapundit, generally a blog aggregator,  functions. Perhaps Mr. Reynolds will write and post a lengthier article on the topic, with a URL that can be linked.– DM)

(1) He didn’t just make a case for why the U.S. should be harder on Iran. He made the case for unilateral Israeli military intervention too, sub silentio. (2) The most damaging thing to Obama here isn’t even the substance, but the contrast in style. Netanyahu, as someone said on Twitter, was better in his second language than Obama is in his first. And he presented himself as a leader who cares about his country, rather than one, like Obama, who makes excuses for its enemies.

“Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warns that a proposed agreement between world powers and Iran would guarantee it got lots of nuclear weapons.”

What will/can NN do about it, NOTHING. He should have acted years ago when this evil could have been nipped in the bud. But, he did not have the balls.

“Want of foresight, unwillingness to act when action would be simple and effective, lack of clear thinking, confusion of counsel until the emergency comes, until self-preservation strikes its jarring gong – these are the features which constitute the endless repetition of history.”

    ― Winston S. Churchill

NN blusters, NN threatens, but in the end he does nothing. His dog and pony shows of crying wolf have been going on for decades. No one listens…. Netanyahu is a man,

“that struts and frets his hour upon the stage. And then is heard no more: it is a tale. Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing.”

Thanks to Netanyahu’s years of historic inaction, israel is surrounded by Iran’s minions. Any overt action on Iran by Israel potentially ignites a Middle East conflagration and great destruction to Israel. Netanyahu (chicken shit) will not take that chance. Checkmate, Obama wins!!!

Netanyahu has no more Congressional speeches in his quiver. Those sideshows have been used up. This was his last hurrah in that regard. What more can he do? Set off a Middle East Firestorm, or hope for the best. Neville Netanyahu has time and time again shown us what he’ll do, cross his fingers and hope for the best.
