News Bulletin: Obama Believes He’s Too Good for Us
News Bulletin: Obama Believes He’s Too Good for Us, Commentary Magazine, Peter Wehner, May 6, 2014
How hard life must be for The One We’ve Been Waiting For, who must travel in this fallen world, amongst mortal man, tolerating such folly and failure? It’s little wonder that Mr. Obama, whom top aides referred to in the 2008 campaign as the “Black Jesus,” is disappointed in the world.
The president thinks we have failed him. In reality, he has failed us
Poor Barack Obama.
According to David Remnick, a biographer of the president and the editor of the New Yorker, “The profile [of President Obama] that I published in the New Yorker was somebody that eerily, eerily seemed to be claiming himself–it was a sense of not giving up, but of deep frustration–that was the profile that I published in the New Yorker. Somebody frustrated and disappointed.”
Remnick went on to add, “And that’s what’s frustrating to me sometimes about Obama is that the world seems to disappoint him. Republicans disappoint him, Bashar al-Assad disappoints him, Putin as well.” (H/T: the Weekly Standard.)
But in return consider this: Think about how disappointed the world must be in Barack Obama. The man who promised to slow the rise of the oceans, heal the planet, and end a politics that breeds division and conflict and cynicism–who promised us new beginnings and hope and change–has overseen an increasingly disordered and chaotic world, enemies who are emboldened and allies who are alienated, the worst economic recovery on record, startling failures plaguing his signature domestic achievement, a record number of Americans on food stamps and in poverty, a widening gap in income inequality, and a riven and polarized political culture.
These are the hallmarks of a failed presidency. And the president and his courtiers are already settling on their explanation: Barack Obama was simply too good for the world.
The president thinks we have failed him. In reality, he has failed us.

I appreciate your attempt at being respectful to the Office of President, but you erred on the side of POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. Which is destroying our society quicker than all of Obama’s ‘changes’ combined. It is the drug of choice these days because, heaven forbid, we offend ANYONE.
The other issues I have with this article is that you left out what was lurking in the shadows of Obama, creatures like: Valerie Jarrett, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, John Boehner, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren, and the multitude of members of the muslim brotherhood. They put things into motion. They cover for him. They do his damn job with malicious intent.
You also failed to explore the issue of Obama declaring martial law. The most enlightning piece of literature today is on http://www.whitehouse.gov click on Executive Orders. An article could be written on every one of them and still not cover everything that is pertinent. The Department of Homeland (in)Security is another very infomative site.
Unless this was written with sarcastic irony (which obviously I missed), you avoided every fear facing the average citizen today, like the fact that we KNOW our government will fire on Americans, on American soil. Bundy proved that. Those snipers were not there working on their tans. We know that 200 of the top commanders in various nuclear related jobs were fired/retired/had job changed. There is now missing nuclear material from one of those bases. We know that there have been literally dozens of mental health/gun related false flags. The list is endless, and I did not EVEN deal with the Benghazi assassinations.
There is a heavy foreboding in the air. I’ll state it bluntly, we are on the cusp of another Revolutionary/Civil War…combined.

Could not agree less. Soon Obama’s 2nd term will be up and Americans will elect a new President and life goes on. Down through the years there been many harbingers of doom for the Republic. Today it’s no different.

@John Prophet…tell that to the Greeks and the Romans.

True enough. However the Roman Empire lasted 1,000 years.
In the 17th and 18th century those who “ruled the waves” ruled the world as was true for the British Empire.
In the 21st Centuy it will those who rule technology and that will be America. The world has been Windowed (Microsoft), Appled, Googled, Facebooked, Twittered and Amazoned, and that’s just the tip of the Iceberg. America is on the verge of becoming the greatest technological Empire the world has ever seen. I expect good old Uncle Sam will have a good seat as it moves thru the years ahead!

So true. The author of the article writes as if Mr. Obama is a frustrated man with an unfulfilled agenda who fully expected everyone to greet his ideas without opposition or ridicule. Nothing could be further from the truth. Yes, Mr. Obama may feel this way but he is not in control. He thinks he is, but others control Washington. Who you ask? I think BK above started a good list.
