WASHINGTON – The final version of the congressional defense budget triples the Obama administration’s request for funding for joint US-Israel defense cooperation.
The $284 million in the budget released jointly December 10 by the US House of Representatives and Senate budget committees – up from $96 million requested by the Obama administration – includes funding for the Arrow long-range anti-missile system and the David’s Sling and Iron Dome missile defense systems.
The full National Defense Authorization Act for 2014 is virtually assured passage.
Defense cooperation funding – to which Israel contributes – is separate from the $3.1 billion Israel receives in defense assistance as part of a ten-year package.
Separately, the House on Wednesday passed 399-0 a bill that would enhance the US commitment to Israel’s qualitative military edge in the region. The bill, initiated by Reps. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) and Brad Schneider (D-Ill.) increases the frequency that the president must report to Congress on the maintenance of Israel’s advantage, from once every four years to once every two years, and adds requests for reports on cyber security and asymmetric warfare.
Additionally, the House Energy and Commerce Committee approved legislation that would create a strategic energy partnership between Israel and the United States.
The measure, referred to the full House on December 10, amends the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 and is designed to strengthen collaboration between Israel and the United States on energy development.
Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-Mich.) and Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) led the charge for the countries to develop ways for long-term, strategic cooperation on energy matters.
The bill calls for the creation of a US-Israel Center of Excellence to promote the development of advanced energy technologies.
The American Israel Public Affairs Committee is working to have this bill adopted by the full House of Representatives.
Sens. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), and Mary Landrieu (D-La.) have introduced a similar bill in the Senate.

Huuu…..is this the US Version of the kind of russian opponents of the regime dropping out of windows or having ” traffic – accidents” ?
Personally I guess so – there are further credible reports about people killed under unclear conditions in Mr BHO’s past…..

Please check the comment of Paul Dragatto / aviation engineer in the original WND report. He knows what he is talking about : the Caravan is an extremly reliable workhorse operating around the globe. This plane dropping out of the sky with the only person killed being crucial in Mr BHO’s birth certificate mystery is quite obvious another stinking fish in Mr BHO’s life…..How much more facts does the US public needs to act against Mr BHO ? Do they wait for Mr BHO confessing not being eligable ?

Folks, we shouldn’t rush to premature conclusions.
I do think that the Obavez desastministration is capable of such things (just consider Benghazi) BUT at this point not even an authopsy has been done.
Let’s pause and think for a moment. If that was not an accident, it means that someone was willing to kill 9 people just to get rid of her.
If that was the case he planed for all the people on board to be killed including Fuddy.
But to plan a crash where only the person you want to be killed gets killed is pretty ridiculous.
How likely is that your plan goes wrong but lo and behold the person you want to kill still is the ionly one (1 out of 9) to die?
Give me a break.

“HONOLULU — When Coast Guard rescuers flew to waters near the Hawaiian island of Molokai to the scene of a small plane crash, they found smoking flares from the Navy, nine people floating in yellow life vests and debris scattered across a half-mile of ocean waters with choppy waves about six feet high. The only thing missing — the single-engine plane itself.
“There was nothing recognizable immediately as aircraft debris, just general debris in the water,” U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Weston Red Elk said. “I’m not sure at what point the main body of the aircraft submerged, but it was not present when we got there.”
Red Elk’s team of rescue swimmers and pilots maneuvered two helicopters and an HC-130 airplane about 50 feet above the water, using the flares as a guide to locate two clusters of passengers, eventually rescuing them with Maui Fire personnel. One passenger swam the long distance to shore, the pilot and others went to hospitals with injuries that weren’t serious. Only one passenger died.
As the rescue started, Rescue Swimmer Mark Peer said he lowered himself toward a man about 100 yards from the plane who looked to be in his 70s. As he swam to the passenger, the man wasn’t panicking, Peer said.
“He was happy to see us. Just kind of grabbed my arm and gave me a thumbs up,” Peer said.
The next passenger Peer tried to save, Hawaii Health Director Loretta Fuddy, was not responsive and he couldn’t find a pulse.
