Raid on the Reactor ! – Video Dailymotion
Raid on the Reactor ! – Video Dailymotion.
( A Military Channel documentary that must be seen by those interested in the Iran/Israel conflict. The parallels are so complete in both intensity and nature that it’s impossible to ignore. Up till the attack, Israel did everything they’ve done with Iran this time. When it wasn’t enough…. – JW )
From Wikipedia
Operation Opera (Hebrew: אופרה),[1] also known as Operation Babylon,[2] was a surprise Israeli air strike carried out on 7 June 1981, that destroyed a nuclear reactor under construction 17 kilometers (10.5 miles) southeast of Baghdad, Iraq.[3][4][5] This operation was after Iran’s Operation Scorch Sword that damaged this nuclear facility months before.
In 1976, Iraq purchased an “Osiris”-class nuclear reactor from France.[6][7] While Iraq and France maintained that the reactor, named Osirak by the French, was intended for peaceful scientific research,[8] the Israelis viewed the reactor with suspicion, and said that it was designed to make nuclear weapons.[3] On 7 June 1981, a flight of Israeli Air Force F-16A fighter aircraft, with an escort of F-15As, bombed and heavily damaged the Osirak reactor.[9] Israel claimed it acted in self-defense, and that the reactor had “less than a month to go” before “it might have become critical.”[10] Ten Iraqi soldiers and one French civilian were killed.[11] The attack took place about three weeks before the elections for the Knesset.[12]
The attack was strongly criticized around the world and Israel was rebuked by the United Nations Security Council and General Assembly in two separate resolutions.[13][14] The destruction of Osirak has been cited as an example of a preventive strike in contemporary scholarship on international law.

Thanks for posting.
I saw this video about six months ago.
It is just one of the reasons why I have such a high confidence in the IDF.
Thre things stand out in this video:
– The incredible skill of the pilots.
– The fact that the F-16’s payload exceeded twice the design specs.
– The fact that they increased the range of the jets by dropping the wingtanks in midair.
These three things alone make all the arguments of those moot who tell us that Israel cannot do the job in Iran because none of those folks know the real capabilites of the IDF.

Breathtaking ! On their way back – no SAM’s, no iraqi jets…! The israeli pilots were completely surprised ! It seems to me that the hands of the Guardian of Israel carried these precious 8 birds safely home….! Great is HE ! HE watches over his firstborn Israel day and night, all year round ! Great is HE ! Hear, enemies of Israel : You dont fight the Jews – you are fighting the one and only God – if you dont change, you will be destroyed ! Check history and see what happened to those who fought Israel ! Change and live !

If you like low level flying as prcticed during operation Opera/100 ft : See the vids on Youtube ”Crazy low flying French pilots” ! The French have excellent, jewish fighter planes !! Dassault’s Mirages are Jewish planes / Dassault was the nom de guerre of the Jew Marcel Bloch fighting in the French resistance in WW2. And, the French Military seems to be extremly skilled, very dedicated and disciplined, efficient. Although French politics in the past were sometimes bad for Israel, this just recently changed (Vive la France!) Hopefully for Israel ( and for France ) this new French attitude is going to last ! ”I will bless those who bless you Israel !”

I highly recommend Raid on the Sun by Rodger W. Claire, who participated in the documentary, which is well and accurately written
Rodger W. Claire died shortly after the publication of Raid on the Sun and for unclear reasons his next book Operation Entebbe never got published.
