  1. The real question is why today there is absolutely no discussion on the issue of the death of MAD . How is this possible? After all, it is not only Israel that will be the target, but the whole world including the United States. Yet almost nowhere in the media are Bernard Lewis’s words being discussed. Where are all the people who fought the Cold War?

    Peter Robinson puts it well:

Throughout the Cold War there was a base of expert knowledge and through most of the Cold War a high degree of public debate on the issues. And when I talk of the base of expert knowledge I mean that we have right from the get-go George Kennan’s Long Telegram which lays out what became the Containment Policy, as I recall 1946, it is right from the get-go because there were scholars who had been studying the Soviet Union, we had scholars of Russian history. There were lot of people who understood what was going on, and they had to reflect on it. From the get-go there was an understanding in this country of the nature of the treat, and then throughout the Cold War in every presidential campaign right up until the fall of the Soviet Union Cold War Policy was the a central aspect of the debate. That was then. Now we come to the struggle against radical Islamo-Fascism . It has been more than a decade since they hit the Twin Towers and I would argue that there has not been a Long Telegram. We have the two of you, there are a few others, but we have no consensus in the State Department and the foreign policy apparatus.

Here is from the few who are speaking out, but this is a drop in a bucket:
    German scholar Matthias Kuntzel:

There are other dictatorships in the world. But only in Iran are the fantasy-worlds of antisemitism and religious mission linked with technological megalomania and the physics of mass destruction. The specific danger presented by the Iranian nuclear option stems from the unique ideological atmosphere surrounding it – a mixture of holy war and high-tec, of antisemitism and weapons-grade uranium, of death-wish and missile research, of Shiite messianism and plutonium

Well, I once wrote a paper years ago on Hitler as a diplomat. From 1933 to 1939 Hitler was superbly rational in the tactical sense. He was a total sociopath whose objective was to kill all the Jews and conquer Europe for a 1000 year empire, but tactically, he was as shrewd as they come. He rivaled Metternich at his best. He had the chanceries of Europe eating out of his hands. He was a sociopath. And it is important I think to realize that this third category of international national leaders, being a sociopath, is unfortunately more common than many others would like. For example, we know now from Soviet documents that were released or stolen after the Cold War ended, that Castro pushed very hard during the Cuban missile crisis for essentially there be a nuclear war. Happily he did not care if Cuba would be destroyed. He wanted so much that the United States be destroyed, and he was not even a religious fanatic. He was just a fanatic sociopath. That almost tipped things into a tragic direction, but happily on the other side the Soviet Union was basically a bunch of thugs with a cover story their ideology was very substantially dead. By the early sixties there were more true believing revolutionary Marxist-Leninists in the bookstores of the Upper-West Side of Manhattan by that time, than I think there were in the Kremlin. Those guys did not want die for the principle of each according to his ability, to each according to his need – they wanted to remodel their dachas.

We were, in a way, lucky with our opponent in the Cold War because they were thugs with a cover story. They were not, on the whole, sociopaths. Unfortunately, the Castro model, the Hitler model, the model of the sociopath is one we may well need to deal with in Iran. And it should not provide any kind of relief to hear from either the former head of Israeli intelligence, or anybody else, that they are rational. They may well be quite tactically quite shrewd and rational. The Persians invented chess, they are quite good at it. But rational in that sense doesn’t mean that you are not a sociopath, after the model of Castro and others.

The real and present danger ignored once again. Last time 6 million were gassed, this time the entire world is under threat of nuclear destruction. And the US has a POTUS who either doesn’t understand or who concurs with the enemy. Either way the world has to wake up or it will expire in its slumber – the ultimate Big Bang.

The correct time for an Israeli Operation in Iran is now, in the following days. I’ll explain why. ”Obama’s Administration” and 0bama itself are under heavy – I’ll say atomic(!) – pressure right now because of the countless failures of Obama’s regime.
A preemptive Israeli strike in Iran will be another frog that this president will have to swallow; in a way, he might be happy if such a thing will happen, because he desperately needs a media distraction, some sort of media decoy, which will get him rid of this all out American media offensive on the White House, right now. As we speak, the 0bama’s situation is almost unbearable. There are too many problems which, like throwing stones, are hitting the WH windows day and night.
Israel should take the initiative now and resolve its problems.
We think that Bibi got his second chance. The first, was before the elections and not acting then was a fateful mistake from the Israeli part.
Not acting now, with such a chaotic conjecture in the WH, will be Bibi’s last mistake. Iran should not be aloud to develop any nuclear program. In fact, in the actual situation between Israel and Iran, Iran should not be aloud to continue as a trouble making state in the region. Better do it now, when many millions here are still alive.

When I read this morning about the latest statements of the WH concerning Iran/the iranian nuclear programm I thought that Israel MUST disconnect itself from the WH and do what has to be done to protect itself.
Todays actions of the WH are so weird,so irrational,so irresponsible and so dangerous for the USA itself but also for all its allies – you just cant believe it, it looks as if common sense has completely left the WH ! If the USA wants to jump out of the window, Israel cant stop them – but Israel can/must cut the rope that so far tied it to the USA! ” Israel – be strong and courageous” – HE who brought Israel out of Egypt is NOT going to let Israel down now ! Last night I couldnt sleep so I was reading in the booklet ” Missiles and miracles” from the time when Sadam Hussein fired his missiles on Israel : The Guardian of Israel is present day and night to do miracles to protect His firstborn Israel ! HE CAN AND HE WILL !

Wingate, you just turned the lantern to the right corner of the room.
By your permission, I’ll try to make a synthesis on your comment.
1.The WH is acting in weird ways, especially allies getting hurt from those policies.
2.Israel should take the responsibility for its own fate and act unilaterally regarding the Iranian issue, because the present administration cannot be trust anymore.

I hope I put it right, in the spirit of your comment, Wingate.
And this lead us to the bottom line: there is a reason behind our preoccupation with what is going on in the WH, because, my friends, like Wingate put it so well, this is affecting all of us, everywhere.

Reading debka file about all the demands from the socalled palestinians : I think that because this whole thing is promoted by the present US – government, this now will break the neck of the USA !
The scriptures say that the land of Israel belongs to the God of Israel and that he who wants to divide this land will be broken by the owner ! Nothing will be able to stop HIM to do so – nothing ! USA : Change fast or face certain destruction ( get out your scriptures from the shelfs and READ it ) !!!!

Thank you all who have written on this excellent blog, ( Luis, Joop, John – Prophit, Joseph, David, Artaxes, Mladen Andrijasevic, Wingate, and everyone else who are just as important). Please if you or the rest of the writers could try to use your excellent writing skills to network with many people and various media sources to make our voices heard, so maybe Bibi will take the military steps needed to get rid of the Iranian nuclear threat, we would really appreciate it.

You guys do excellent writing and postings on this blog, but we need it in many more places with as many people as possible, and having rallies, etc, because we cant defend Israel if we are not ordered by Bibi.

Also please get the Israeli government to STOP giving away anymore Israeli land, its only 50 km East to West, at the widest point, 30 minute drive, and most of it is skinnier, and its only 800 km from North to
South, 8 hour drive, thank you, Smiley.

We cant say who we are, we have rerouted our messaging internet transmission routes, etc.

We might not be alive after this, if we are then we will write, please remember us in your prayers.

May god bless and protect Israel, and all nations of all backgrounds and religions that support Israel, because we are all brothers and sisters that god wanted us to live in peace, with happiness and health, with free choice of religion and not other religions forcing us to convert to their religion.

    Thank you, Smiley.
