I think we own something to Mladen on this. This ” mad is dead ” issue regarding the Iranians is his baby.

    • Thank you Joseph and Luis. I am going to add this to my blog

        the transcript:
        Peter Robinson:
Norman Podhoretz, in an interview in Arutz Sheva, how is it pronounced? –

        Norman Podhoretz:
        Aruttz Sheva

        Peter Robinson:
Quote, quoting you .. If Iran gets the bomb it is hard , if not impossible, to see how a nuclear exchange between Iran and Israel could be avoided” Close quote
Now you know the answer to that . The Soviet Union had the bomb and we had the bomb and we sat facing each other for four and a half decades and did not engage in a nuclear exchange.

        Norman Podhoretz:
I will give you Bernard Lewis’s answer to that question and than I will give you my own. Bernard Lewis points out that deterrence worked with the Soviets and the Chinese because the Soviets were not suicidal and they knew that if they launched a first strike there would be a second strike tha which would annihilate them — mutual assured destruction

        Peter Robinson:
        And it worked

        Norman Podhoretz
Mutual Assured Destruction can’t work in relation to Iran because these are people who are in love with death

        Bernard Lewis:
For them it is not a deterrent, it is an inducement

        Peter Robinson:
        Truly? Truly?

        Norman Podhoretz:
Now I will give you my answer to this. That’s’ Bernard’s answer to the question My answer to the question is to imagine a scenario which most people are horrified . I’ve tried this all the time , people shy away from it. Imagine that Iran gets the bomb. OK and the Israelis are siting there and asking themselves, do we wait for them to hit us and then retaliate out of the rubble or do we preempt it first? The Iranians are asking themselves the same question. Do we wait for the Israelis to hit us or do we hit them first . We’ve never had a hair trigger situation like that since the invention of nuclear weapons . If you just imagine the rulers of Iran asking themselves that question . Somebody is gonna beat the other to the punch . And I can’t see that unstable situation lasting for very long, maybe even as along as a few weeks or months

        Peter Robinson:
And you would agree ,here is what I find so

You will hear it said among people who are not deep students of this situation that the notion that glorious death is an inducement to the the radicals in the Muslim world, not a deterrent, and here I sit across the man who has devoted his life to the study of Islam, who is universally regarded as the greatest living historian in the world of Islam, and he says, yes as a matter of fact , that’s exactly right, it is an inducement, deterrence would not work. You confirm that

        Bernard Lewis
Yes I would do , yes, with those who are committed believers in the old sense

        • and in the full interview Peter Robinson makes this comment:

Throughout the Cold War there was a base of expert knowledge and through most of the Cold War a high degree of public debate on the issues. And when I talk of the base of expert knowledge I mean that we have right from the get -go George Kennan’s Long Telegram which lays out what became the Containment Policy, as I recall 1946, it is right from the get-go because there were scholars who had been studying the Soviet Union , we had scholars of Russian history. There were lot of people who understood what was going on, and they had to reflect on it. From the get-go there was an understanding in this country of the nature of the treat, and then throughout the Cold War in every presidential campaign right up until the fall of the Soviet Union Cold War Policy was the a central aspect of the debate. That was then. Now we come to the struggle against radical Islamo-Fascism . It has been more than a decade since they hit the Twin Towers and I would argue that there has not been a Long Telegram . We have the two of you, there are a few others , but we have no consensus in the State Department and the foreign policy apparatus.

We think you might be correct David, but we pray that you are incorrect and Bibi will either use EMP or use the technology carbon fibre devices ammo which,

after been delivered, can paralyze (shutdown) the electrical power grid, this has been around for many years now, and it is a really good idea.

It was really good information one of the writers on this blog Luis mentioned.

The carbon fibre device ammo does the same thing as EMP without having to use nuclear explosion.

We read some of the things you wrote and you seem to be very knowledgable about nuclear refinement, the science, and the technical details surrounding it.

Do you think the carbon fibre device ammo will work?

And will either The carbon fibre device ammo, or EMP affect nuclear weapons research and production facillities underground, or under mountains, because we think it won’t.

And maybe Iran can still make nuclear explosives of all types and weapons with self contained electricity producing facilities under mountains,

and maybe still shoot the missiles.

What do you think David, and Luis, and any of the other writers.

    Thanks, Smiley.

With all due respect, ”Smiley” – are you really smile now?- we wont do all those talks here, on the resolutions you demand. We’ll keep the things simple and on the Wiki level. No more and may be less.
Lets give to the IDF the task to put in place all this thing, ok? No smile on this one. Luis.

Thanks for replying Luis, we appreciate it, but we don’t understand your joke, “With all due respect, ”Smiley” – are you really smile now?”

We brought up something important, that Bibi has waited to long to do anything, that it has it has endangered millions of Israeli lives.

He is a wonderful person, we met him, he gives great speeches, but he needs to act with military action now, and not give anymore speeches

because 2 nuclear explosives can destroy half of Israel.

So know we dont want anyone giving away any military ideas that might impair any operations, we are worried about how to get all those underground and under mountain nuclear facilities, and that they might have power plants down there that wont be affected by nuclear EMPS or Carbon fiber ammo weapons.
        Thank you, Smiley.

It was not a joke. I, personally, decided to restrain my comments and answers to a certain resolution, not especially high, because the times ahead will be hard, yet interesting. But why not quoting my learned and dear friend here, Steve from Louisiana : ” Loose lips sink ships ”. We don’t want that happen, do we? Regards, Luis.

Thank you Luis for your posting, and thank you all who have written on this excellent blog. Please if you or the rest of the writers could try to use your excellent writing skills to network with many people and various media sources to make our voices heard, so maybe Bibi will take the military steps needed to get rid of the Iranian nuclear threat, we would really appreciate it.

You guys do excellent writing and postings on this blog, but we need it in many more places with as many people as possible, and having rallies, etc, because we cant defend Israel if we are not ordered by Bibi.

We cant say who we are, we have rerouted our messaging internet transmission routes, etc.

We might not be alive after this, if we are then we will write, please remember us in your prayers.

May god bless and protect Israel, and all nations of all backgrounds and religions that support Israel, because we are all brothers and sisters that god wanted us to live in peace, with happiness and health, with free choice of religion and not other religions forcing us to convert to their religion.

    Thank you, Smiley.

Also please get the Israeli government to STOP giving away anymore Israeli land, its only 50 km at the widest point, 30 minute drive, and most of it is skinnier, and its only 800 km from North to
South, 8 hour drive, thank you, Smiley.
