Ankara decided to disclose identity of at least 10 Iranians spying for Israel to Tehran, Washington Post columnist writes; sources say Turkish action was “significant” loss of intelligence to Israel.

Turkey disclosed to the Iranian intelligence the identity of up to ten Iranians who were allegedly spying on Tehran for Israel, journalist David Ignatius wrote in a column published in The Washington Post on Thursday.

According to Ignatius, Ankara’s decision to expose the alleged Mossad informants came as the Turkish-Israeli relations continued to deteriorate following the 2010 Mavi Marmara incident.

Ignatius cites sources as saying the Turkish action was a “significant” loss of intelligence and “an effort to slap the Israelis.”

According to Ignatius, the Mossad ran a part of its Iranian spy network through Turkey. The Turkish intelligence conducts aggressive surveillance inside its borders, which enabled it to monitor covert Israeli-Iranian meetings.

Israel, Ignatius writes, ties Turkish intelligence chief Hakan Fidan to the Iranian intelligence. Despite that, Israel’s ally the US continued dealing with Fidan on sensitive matters and Washington did not protest the Turkish action directly to Ankara.

  1. Israel’s apology now looks even more absurd.

This is what I wrote then

    http://madisdead.blogspot.co.il/2013/03/israels-apology-to-turkey-explanation.html

This apology is so absurd that that it cannot be explained away by the simple capitulation by the PM and Bogie. Why would the PM reverse his stance after three years of refusing to apologize and to do that exactly at the time Obama was visiting? So obviously there is a connection.  Would ANYTHING justify such an absurd apology?  Well, yes, it would only make sense if it helps Israel defend itself against the existential threat coming from Iran.  Would not some crucial quid pro quo from Obama regarding Iran be the only logical explanation?  After all, Bibi and Bogie are not fools. The probability that both of them have taken leave of their senses to commit such an inexplicable blunder at exactly the same time is just too small.

One wonders what his Saudi friends are thinking. This is bad news for them too.
Will their common interest in Syria be strong enough to compensate for the fact that Turkey is increasingly going the way of Mursi’s Egypt?
Erdogan is applying the Iranian tactic. He is doing slowly what Mursi tried to achieve very fast and apruptly.
It was not only Israel who had bad experiences with Turkey as an ally.
Maybe they will finally realize that Erdogan is a snake that can’t be trusted.

I’ll tell you what. Only an idiot could commit such a thing. Selling Mosad spies – even Iranians – to Iran? I don’t think Erdogan has any clue about the shit he just entered in it, when he decided to mess with the Mosad. He is a sorry jerk, that is who he is.

    What goes on here?
According to other reports of this issue, this is something which happened “early last year” which means almost two years ago. In which case those Iranian spys were hung out to dry long ago. So who cares now and what is it relevent?
Furthermore find it hard to believe that Israeli intelligence would be so terribly crippled by the loss of a few agents the identity of whom was shared with the Turks….ahem…

“It is that if Netanyahu wants to escape more punishment over his bad relations with Erdogan and attitude on Iran, he must change his approach and acclimatize to the new Middle East, however cruel and cold, in which the US and Iran are beginning to cooperate.
The same message applies equally to Saudi Arabia and Egypt, both of which actively challenge Barack Obama’s approach to the region.” Debka

Policy changes base on economic realities. The US no longer needs Saudi oil or its 11th aircraft carrier (Israel). Brass knuckle business decisions rule the day.

Does anyone here still think Israel will Attack? Honest question, not meant to be controversial.

    • Luis's avatar Luis Says:

It might be. That might be happen, even though all the actual cards are showing the contrary. And this might be the surprise, too. You know, when all is like looking lost and everybody is kissing buts of each other( I mean, Ashton & friends ), dancing and drinking, exchanging memories from previous meetings, exactly then, Bibi might go crazy and surprise us all. He is capable of doing just that.

There is a need for oil and a need for dollars, i think oil is not the point here but the influence of the dollar, if the world stop trading in the dollar currency it is done whit the USA, that is the big concern and in the same time the big problem.

If Israel unilateral attack iran? it is at the moment only remote possible, i do not think so, why.

      Reed my earlier comments here.

      Short :

      TO LATE

      • Luis's avatar Luis Says:

Pay attention to this: Militarily is not too late. That is the reason that Bibi is still waiting. But, politically is starting to be late.
Now, we all can see why is difficult to attack those mother fu@kers when everybody is ready to su@k everybody’s else di@k.
My keyboard itself hardly can stand when debating this issue, so it converted some letters. The keyboards of those days…!

        • Joop Klepzeiker's avatar Joop Klepzeiker Says:

I know Luis , I know i have been trough 2 keyboard last couple of months.

I do not have enough knowledge about military possibility,s , but i would take down first the complete command infrastructure before i will take down the nuke plants.the are complete sitting ducks whit out a command structure that is the nature of this kind of peoples paradise type of states..

I was talking about the political possibility.

          • Luis's avatar Luis Says:

My respects, Joop. You know what are you talking about. Not that I have had any doubts after that ” duel” between us about the Islamic religion and you made lots of points then. But what I like this time is that you have a military strategic mind. I like that.
Indeed, the first strike should decapitate most of the Iranian military capacity – missiles silos, command centers, anti air systems, the electrical power grid, and only after that, taking care of the nuclear installations, ”sitting ducks”(Joop), indeed. And the plan can be further elaborate.

      • John Prophet's avatar John Prophet Says:

Joop,I agree on the too late part, but I still beleive it’s the oil, which is in a way about the dollor. The US economy will be booming in a few years due to its energy independence. The talk of dumpig the dollar will be a distant echo of the past. IMHO.

BTW, you had it nailed about suggesting BIBI watch his back! From where I sit Obama has been playing him the whole time.

        • Joop Klepzeiker's avatar Joop Klepzeiker Says:

I like your optimists view about the USA economy, but the fact are different.

Perhaps a bit reading about imperialism would clear up my statement.

2 ways to concur other country’s, you defeat them by force , wont work for long or you are making thme economically depending on you.

Pull the USA back on an island and it is done whit the USA.

At the moment the USA is just producing only 9 % of used products, the rest is imported.

The USA is from the biggest producing country gone to a import country. depending on the rest of the world.

One exception here, the military complex is the biggest in the world, food stamps , dept ceiling rising , you know if trading in the dollar stops nobody will by USA bonds anymore there is no backup from anything anymore.

The only way for the USA to survive economically is trading whit dollars.

          • John Prophet's avatar John Prophet Says:

I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree.
You’re thinking in a 20th Century mind set. The 21st Century will be an entirly differnt reality. If you study the trends in technology and energy for example, you can get a hint of what will be, and who’ll be on the inside track.

  6. Joop Klepzeiker's avatar Joop Klepzeiker Says:

JP, let me try to put it different.

We are watching the butchering of the free state,s in the world, Even the USA is going down in this planned processes to come to a new order, a new order of power blocks and not free states anymore, that is 21 century reality.

But economically and politically interconnect power blocks whit one government.( dollar has to fail, and a new currency looms on the horizon )

But i can be wrong, lets see what the future bring us,mark my words

    Respectfully

    JK

    • John Prophet's avatar John Prophet Says:

I remember reading the same thing in the 70’s with regards to David Rockerfeller and the Trilateral Commission, stating a weak dollar was required to form a world government. Big changes between then and today. Today the world is very interconnected and anyone with an internay connection like us can reach out and change the world. Look what it did to marshal the “Arad Spring” regardless of the outcome. Millions were called to arms through their cell phones. The boys of the Trilateral Commission for example had no concept of such a thing. No, the days of the back room deal of the power elite are over. As I’ve said look forward and follow the trends.

I believe it will be a brave new world but in the other direction. Humanity will struggle as it always does but will continue to move toward a brighter future. Guess I’m just a glass half full kind of guy.

Could be to keep large amounts of money from being transfered to terrorist organizations.

      • Joop Klepzeiker's avatar Joop Klepzeiker Says:

The people do not have to do that they have a government for that shit.

By the way do you follow what is happening in Europe ??

One government one currency and no more independent states.
