I’m sure I speak for John Kerry as well.  This marks the end to any claim the US has clung to of “exceptionalism.”  No ethical standards, much less leadership.

God save the United States of America and the world, which till tonight depended on it…

No Mr. President. Unlike the American press which kisses your ass the world’s press and the world’s people see you rightly for what you are.
You have turned America into a joke but maybe that’s what you wanted to do right from the start.
The American people were right to be sceptical about military intervention in Syria because there are no good guys in this fight.
But you did a very stupid thing by drawing your red line.
    You know, words have consequences.
The amount of American casualties that could result from intervention in Syria will be dwarfed by the amount of American and foreign casualties in the future as a result of your inaction.
This will not happen overnight but it will happen nonetheless.
Neither America’s allies nor America’s enemies will give a shit about your garantees or words anymore.
Any chance, however remote, to stop Iran from going nuclear is flushed down the toilet.
You can also kiss good bye to any containment strategy.
No one in the region is going to trust any of your garantees that he will be protected by Ametica’s nuclear umbrella.
Others, we know who they are, will have to clean up your mess.
    Weakness invites aggression.
Many Americans will lose their life because of your inaction.
Their blood is on your hands.

As bad as things are- at least WW3 has been postponed for the time being.

Let Qatar, the Saudis, jihadists, Hezbollah, Iranians and Syrians fight it out. This will drain their resources, men, money and perhaps morale. The thirst for blood will eventually be spent without taking American or Israeli lives which is the best outcome.

A fractured Syria is a weak and unreliable partner for Iran.

By loosing your credibility you embolden Iran and you invite more terrorist attacks.
As I said, this won’t happen overnight but it will happen.

        • Thunderbunny's avatar Thunderbunny Says:

What else is new? They will try terrorism regardless.

If they actually get away with a huge casualty attack, Israel’s or America’s response will be lethal and justified.

          • artaxes's avatar artaxes Says:

Now they will try it even more.
You are free to believe that projecting weakness and being not credible doesn’t have negative consequences.
Anyway, I’ve made my case and history will tell who’s right.

Damn well said AR…and to add insult to injury, Congress is going to tell Obama to “F” himself.

I agree, AR said it all. Did you know that 30 minutes after the announcement Obama headed for a golf course. I suppose the world’s reaction was not as important as a day on the course. I need a barf bag.

And this is the guy carrying the ‘nuclear football’. I wonder if he has the balls to issue the launch codes if the US were to come under nuclear attack? Scary.

Forgive me for plagiarizing the following comment I picked up on another blog. It’s a good one….

“After firing the best and the brightest of our military leaders, cutting the military budget, reducing their pay and benefits no wonder our military in such a sorry and demoralized state. Our troops knowing that they are being led by a bunch of ass kissing synchophants, knowing that they will be left on the battlefield, knowing that the Spokes Idiot and other stooges at the state department will be leaking their battle plans to the enemy and knowing that no matter what happens they will be blamed or court marshaled. Well is this the way to go into battle? Obama is reaping the rewards of having no foreign policy except to diminish the honor and reputation of both his office and our great country. A president who is such a rampant ideologue and politician that he would sell all us down the river to win an election and that is exactly what he and his regime has done. So I say no to Obama. No war, no win, no grandstanding, no risks taken, no prestige, no praise and yes no victory. Just shut up and let Allah sort this one out. Not one soldier, airman, marine or sailor should give their life for this creep. First regime change in the USA and then we can discuss why it is such a good idea to back AQ and the Muslim brotherhood in the middle east including Syria. Untill then the answer is NO! ”

    My sentiments exactly – LS
