Alarms sound in Nahariya, Acre; residents report sounds of explosions; one projectile downed by Iron Dome
August 22, 2013, 4:51 pmSeveral rockets were fired from Lebanon into Israel on Thursday afternoon. There were no immediate reports of casualties nor damage.
The red alert siren sounded in the cities of Nahariya, Acre, and Kiryat Shmona, and residents reported hearing explosions.
One of the rockets fell in a field near the Nahariya.
An Israeli Iron Dome battery intercepted at least one rocket, Channel 2 reported.
The army said that four rockets were fired in all.
Lebanese media reported that two volleys of rockets had been fired from a Palestinian refugee camp near Tyre into Israel.
A resident of Kibbutz Evron, near Nahariya, told Ynet that the alarm sounded only after “two booms” were heard, and that the residents quickly moved into bomb shelters.
There were reports Wednesday in Lebanon that Israeli helicopters had circled in southern Lebanon.
The army said it was looking into the incident and called on northern residents to remain in bomb shelters.

We want to emphasize the fact that the following lines are our opinion only, with no connection with any analyst or website.
The recent rocket attacks in northern Israel are not the result of a sudden suicide Hezbollah conception. In fact, Hezbollah is not connected to this action, period.
What we are witness here is a try from Al Qaeda groups to try and pull Israel into this war, by attacking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon.
This jihadist step is very simple to execute but it might be very complex by its results.
We don’t think that Iran can be behind this, either. The enter of the Israeli Army in this war might be disastrous for Iran, in the short and the long term. So, the gentlemen from the universal jihad enterprise want to play with the Israelis. You see, Assad, Iran, Russia and even the Free Syrian Army are not enough for those dudes. What, did they left their women, kids and goats in their happy mountains for arriving in Syria as ”death tourists” and they wont enjoy all the fun? What will they tell their families back home? That they killed Syrians, Shiites and Iranians? But what about Israel, their worried wives might ask. What about that? So, you see, they cannot restrain themselves anymore, so they decided to be open for business with Israel. And, by the way, as we are writing here, the Israeli TV is just confirming our theory.

I thought this as well Luis. I often wondered when ‘they’ would attempt to engage Israel. But I always felt they had enough on their plate for now and were not ready to open another front. Maybe that’s all going to change now.

This is the big catch here, Steve. There is no front here. Not in Syria, not in Lebanon, not in Iraq; and, despite this strange fact, people keep dying on all those ”fronts”’. What should Israel do when it will have to retaliate ? Where to bomb? What to bomb? And who is to be bombed? Bombing Assad? Bombing the jihadists and risking to kill 200 more innocent people? But Steve, I don’t say we wont react or attack. What I’m saying is, that if until now we had to deal with linear war equations, if the jihadists will attack Israel as a strategy, we’ll have to solve transcendental military equations following their decision.

We all know the real answer, but fear the morality of it all. That answer being full scale war without regard for collateral damage and civilian casualties. The strategy of removing the enemy’s will and ability to fight is still gathering dust on a dark shelf somewhere.
