( “Elephant?  What elephant?” – JW )

Iranian television channel Al-Alam reported that official Syrian sources have denied the CNN report that the Israeli Air Force was behind the strike in Latakia eight days ago.

CNN reported on Friday that American sources have confirmed that the attack in Latakia was perpetrated by IAF planes, targeting advanced Yakhont missiles. (Roi Kais)

One of the weapons bullies and villains use is bluster. They talk tough hoping it will scare off the one they’re afraid of. But just like school yard bullies, if you punch them in the nose hard, they usually back down! Assad is in no position to attack Isarel…..

Like I said in a previous post- Assad is too scared of what may follow if he is forced into attacking Israel. He will ignore Israeli attacks on his weapons sites as long as possible unless forced to respond by his masters in Iran- and even then I think he will protest mightly against taking action.

Nobody will or has the will to attack Israel right now. That will be suicide and Iran, Hezbollah and Assad know that.

This whole story has a very strange smell to it.
    CNN reported …
    Unnamed officials …
    Bullshit!
Has anyone actually checked the CNN-story?
Why does nobody do it? “Journalists”. Pah. Even an amateur like me can do better. They are all like sheep. Or shall I say parrots?
    It’s very simply to do.
    – Go to CNN website.
    – Type syria In the search field and hit ENTER.
    – The second result you get is this:

Israel targeted Russian-made missiles in Syria strike, U.S. officials say updated 1 day ago
A series of explosions on July 5 at a critical Syrian port was the result of airstrikes by Israeli warplanes, according to multiple U.S. officials.

    – Now click on the link
    – You get the result “Page not found”

    What does this tell us?
It’s getting weirder by the minute.
In case you want to try it, don’t wait too long.
The search results are not kept in the google cache forever.

Now, there can be many reasons why an article barely 2 days old disappears but the most likely (in my opinion) was that CNN became icreasingly doubtful about the credibility of the story or that someone wanted this article to disappear because at this point it had achieved what it was supposed to do or to prevent this article from causing undesired effects.

I would not be surprised that Israel did attack the weapons depot. They have no choice at this point.
