U.S. Marines and Sailors assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), are transported from the USS San Antonio (LPD 17), to Port Aqaba, Jordan, via a landing craft utility while offloading for Exercise Eager Lion 2013, June 7, 2013.

Exercise Eager Lion 2013 is an annual, multinational exercise designed to strengthen military-to-military relationships and enhance security and stability in the region by responding to realistic, modern-day security scenarios. This is a recurring exercise.

The 26th MEU is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations as part of the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group. The 26th MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed, sea-based quick reaction force.

Once again, our brave young troops are being put into harm’s way to counter yet another threat in Mideast affairs. You’d think after WWI and WWII, mankind would have learned a lesson. Apparently no one has and the US has not as well. We still continue to send our precious youth into these “meat grinders” throughout the world. Excuse me for being so cynical, but I care for these young people a lot.

Justice is right. Guys like me, Joop, and others live thousands of miles away and get our info via the media. That’s why I personally gravitate to sites like JW’s. You guys are on the front lines and I relish the info you have to offer.

As for me, I live in the USA and I too can offer that which the media does not. What I offer now is our sense of hopeless in the Mideast, our impatience with the players (Israel excepted), and our reluctance to spend billions more in hard earned money and the blood of our young.

This is not just my opinion. I represent virtually everyone I deal with daily. I am a humble accountant who deals with the financial affairs, taxes, business and personal lives of hundreds of folks just like me.

I think I can speak for most folks here in the USA (more precisely, Louisiana) that we are fed up. We are tired of all this bullshit ‘nation building’. We are tired seeing our sons and daughters return in flag draped coffins. We are tired seeing young fathers and mothers with legs blown off or worse. And most of all, we are tired of the unending, costly, and thankless struggle we have engaged yet again while the Islamic Mideast in general continues to cling to violence, death, and destruction.

    Thatisall.

Reading back over the comments, I understand from whence your concerns.

Justice’s posts are no longer welcome here until adequate explanations are received.

Steve is absolutely correct. One day America will remember what a war is for and how it should be fought. Until then our political class thinks that every instance is post-war II Europe or Asia and they are petrified of the word “war criminal’ that is thrown around by the left.

Amen, Steve, I couldn’t have said it better myself. It’s safe to say that the rest of America feels the same as you folks in Louisiana; No more endless wars; time for America to come home.
