Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on Sunday blamed the world’s inaction on the Syrian conflict for the “barbarian act of terrorism” that claimed dozens of lives near the border.
“The latest attack shows how a spark transforms into a fire when the international community remains silent and the U.N. Security Council fails to act,” he said during a Berlin visit.
“It’s unacceptable for the Syrian and Turkish people to pay the price for this.”
Saturday’s twin bomb attack, which left at least 46 people dead and 100 wounded near the Syrian border, was the deadliest in Turkey in recent years.
The minister called it a breach of Turkey’s “red line” and said that “it’s time for the international community to display a common stance against the regime … immediately and without delay”.
He called for an “urgent, result-oriented diplomatic initiative” to find a solution to the Syrian crisis and added that “Turkey has the right to take any kind of measure” in response to the killings.
Davutoglu was meeting German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle, who expressed his condolences for the victims of the “barbaric act of terrorism” and pledged Germany’s support for Turkey.
The Turkish minister blamed the attack on “a former Marxist organization directly connected with the regime” of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Davutoglu also said the investigation was looking at “connections between the Banias massacre … and the latest terror attack” in Turkey.
Rights groups say at least 62 civilians were killed this month in an assault on a Sunni district of Banias, a Mediterranean city in Syria, after at least 50 people were killed in the nearby village of Bayda.

Reblogged this on danmillerinpanama and commented:
An excellent article, well worth reading in its entirety.
Perhaps a bit tangential, I really
likedappreciated these short paragraphs:It’s all a sad commentary on America’s current situation. The article speaks of the blood on Lady Macbeth’s hands that could not be washed away. What about the blood also on the hands of our “low information voters?” Do they – will they – realize it’s there? That it reeks of their shame? If they do, will they care?

Even that I don’t take Erdogan too much in serious, it appears to us that ”something” is cooking on the syrian-turkish border, and this time I must quote once again the hebrew site Rotter which bring to us unconfirmed reports regarding a possible operation in Syria by the turks.

The bbc said that action was imminent this afternoon, they thought it would be missiles

Your right not to take erdogan seriously,as turkey gets its orders from NATO,Nato is consensus driven the Great Britain steers NATO and the USA applys the pressure, america has traditionally always tried to avoid article 5,the french and Italians polish also play a big role very much so with france ,NATO will take steps to deal with Syria when there is a consensus to do so,That consensus is in the process being slowly realized now at this moment. The events of the last 24 hours may well be enough to invoke the mutual defense pact, the activity going on at the moment in the med israel and northern europe could well be the beginning

and note that the turkey bombing was done by marxist terrorists, created by the KGB for the Syrians to exploit, there is also a pattern developing, similarity’s between other recent terror attacks around the northern hemisphere

The snake that is Islam is once again eating its own tail. It’s their own fault and no one else. Infighting has occured between these folks for hundreds of years…long before the USA was even a pipe dream. Of course, we all know that. I just have to keep reminding myself since the USA is always the one held responsible for all this mess.
May 13, 2013 at 9:55 AM
Infighting can also be encouraged by foreign secret services. Divide and conquer still is a favorite strategy of the powers that be in the U.S.
Look what happened in Iran a few years ago ! Or rather, look what did not happen because the people behind the Obama administration (Zbigniew Brzezinski, Ford Foundation, Trilateral Commission, Bilderberger, Council on Foreign
Relations, Skull and Bones, RAND Corporation, Chicago School,
Woodrow Wilson Center) did not support the sane people in Iran who want to get rid of the oligarchs. Because their goal is to force the Iranian oligarchy to help the U.S. use the Muslims of Russia and China destabilize those countries so much that they end getting split up in several smaller, less powerful countries. Which is the only way to maintain U.S. dominance over the World.
May 13, 2013 at 10:33 AM
Of course this pro-jihadists strategy may well mean the end of Israel in a few years. Let us not forget that one atomic bomb is all that is needed. One bomb disappeared from the vast U.S. or Russian arsenals, or one made in Iran or Pakistan.
That is why every one of us must seriously investigate what is going in the U.S. oligarchy, understand what they really are up to, and decide if that is good or bad for Israel. To get to that point, reading articles from media controlled by the oligarchy will not work.
May 13, 2013 at 12:58 PM
KIishonist “Which is the only way to maintain U.S. dominance over the World.” and rightfully so we will be the victors 322
May 13, 2013 at 3:01 PM
@Justice for Israel
At the cost of helping spread jihad all over a very large part of our planet ?
Why not help sane people in those countries instead ?
Take Iran for example ! In 1953, when British and U.S. secret services obeyed the orders of Big Oil and Banksters and deposed a democratically-elected decent president, they showed that to them, money was more important than civilization. And they definitely proved that barbarism was a perfectly valid way to replace nationalism when they got rid of the Shah and installed radical Muslims in power in Iran. The Shah was a nationalist who helped assemble dozens of Third-World countries trying to become independent of both the USA (Wall Street) and Soviet Union (Socialism), by the way. Nationalism and a Third Way : absolute enemies of Wall Street.

I still believe the blame remains with Islam, a dysfunctional ideology to say the least. If they are in fact so easy to manipulate, it’s their own fault and no one else. The USA cannot be held accountable for every damned thing that happens in the Mideast. Manipulation, probably. The response to these alleged manipulations, absolutely not.
May 13, 2013 at 5:02 PM
Absolutely right steve, may the USA and Great Britain rule last a 10000 years
May 13, 2013 at 8:27 PM
I agree with all of harshest critics of Islam.
But if you despise Islam, you should be aware of your contradictions : how can you support the U.S. oligarchy when they help spread the most radical form of this ideology ? Wouldn’t you prefer to see the USA support sane people instead of the Muslim Brotherhood and other mad men ?
And how can you believe that you are not manipulated at home ? Muslim terrorists given legal visas who end up committing 9/11 and the Boston bombing, which conveniently allows the U.S. oligarchs to enact laws that allow them to tighten their control of U.S. citizens nearly as much as the Soviet oligarchs controlled their citizens…Muslim radicals are not as much fought as they are used by U.S. oligarchs to increase their power and their share of the wealth produced by citizens who end up poorer and less free, whether in the U.S. or in Iraq, Lybia,….
May 13, 2013 at 8:36 PM
I should add that the control of the minds of the citizens of Western countries is way subtler than in the USSR. Mass-media, advertising, PR,…are much more efficient than the KGB since they are a kind of thought police that is liked by the citizens turned consumers. You can read a book called “Propaganda”, written by the U.S. master of mass-manipulation : Edward Bernays. He engineered mass-support for entering World War I in a few months : citizens were suddenly convinced that they absolutely needed to go to war in Europe. A few months before they were firmly against it. How do you know if your thoughts are yours of those of the Wall Street oligarchs ?

The US will shortly be energy independent and technology superior to anyone. She will more often than not be the Puppetmaster pulling the strings, only indirectly entering into foreign adventures. It is written.
May 13, 2013 at 5:06 PM
THe usa will provide 50% of the worlds energy needs by 2017
May 13, 2013 at 4:56 AM
Agreed, US will be net exporter of energy. I will be happy buying dates rather than oil from Middle East.
May 13, 2013 at 6:01 AM
The Obama administration is doing everything in its power to stop energy independence.
What else would you expect?

The turkish leaders as always are hypocrites.
They blame others for alleged genocides while they themselves comitted the genocide of 1.5 million Armenians.
They blame others of occupation while they themselves have invaded and occupied Cyprus since 1974.
Now they blame others for these acts of terrorism while they forget that they themselves support the Syrian ‘freedom fighters’ who are often nothing more than jihadi terrorists.
A Turkish reporter speculated that this attack was a signal from Assad that they should stay out of Syria.
I quote:
“Anyone who has been following Middle East politics will know that what happened in Reyhanli is within the ‘’expertise of the Syrian regime.’’ If to be expressed metaphorically, whoever gets involved in Syria a reciprocal move by the Syrians would be to export terror to that country. This is what happened in Reyhanli.
Of course the timing is also interesting. On the eve of Erdogan’s Washington visit as rumors circulate that the recent blasts in Damascus are linked to Israel, there is now a memo in Erdogan’s brief case that reads, “If you make a deal with US President Barack Obama to turn the United States loose on Syria, then you will continue to have bombs in Turkey, just like in Reyhanli.””
