Various Lebanese sources report intense Israeli military activity Sunday along the Israeli-Syrian and Lebanese borders. Witnesses describe Israeli warplanes as making aerial passes over south Lebanon, ground forces moving along the Golan border with Syria and attack helicopters flying over Mts Hermon and Dov and the Shaaba Farms.

No, the sh!t is not hitting the fan this time. What we are seeing now is a formidable demonstration of force from the IDF and a big warning signal to all the protagonists here, saying ”take care, don’t threat us and don’t make any wrong moves”.

Joseph, this is not a hunch or a wishful thinking. We are talking about players, motives and meanings. In this stage, Israel will not initiate any conflict with Hezbollah/Lebanon or Syria. The name of the israeli game is ” deterrence ” and ” freedom of action”, when war must be avoided. For that, Israel must convince its foes that an IAF operation is preferable instead a full scale war with IDF and ”if we’ll kick your asses from time to time, remain cool and you can complain, but thats all”.

It’s very possible Israel is targeting locations in Lebanon but clearly it hasn’t escalated yet to what we saw in 2006. Hezbollah / Syria / Iran all seem to be holding back from responding at the current time.
Still it feels like full scale warfare could be close….

I get you, , do not make the mistake that i,am against Israel or the action necessarily to get iran of the bomb, but as i see it it will be much better if the USA go on front as the good men, saves a lot of lives all over the world, what do you think what will happen as Israel take out iran , all muslins yep ALL, are in one time against Israel sunni shia etc

Israel was once respected by her allies and feared by her enemies. Israel once beat all the went up against her. BUT when the disaster of Oslo and land for peace came to be all that changed. Once Israel started to backpedal they began to appear weak. Not a good idea in that neck of the woods. Now virtually no one respects or fears Israel. Hamas and Hizballah tweak Israel then claim victory. Lets face it humans, only respect a strong tough winner. Israel is now preceived as a weak has been ripe for the picking. Only Israel can change that. Only Israel can do what needs to be done!!!!
