Israeli officials have confirmed the country’s air force carried out a strike against Syria and say it targeted a shipment of advanced missiles.

The officials say the shipment was not of chemical arms, but of “game changing” weapons bound for the Lebanese militant Hezbollah group. They say the airstrike was early Friday. They did not say where it took place.

They spoke Saturday on condition of anonymity because they were discussing a secret military issue.

  1. As many have said before Syria before Iran, infact as many on this site has said if Iran gets fully committed to the Syrian fight it will be their downfall.

Obviously Israel will strike anything they deem a threat in Syria or Lebanon. We need to see now what military steps the US and NATO will take.

The strategy adopted by Israel is even more aggressive than we thought it will be, but what the heck…who is going to complain that one got more than one expected? Obama decided that IAF can do the job in Syria, while he, Obama, will act in more ”mysterious” ways, like trying to give more advanced weapons to the rebels/jihadists. What is more interesting and useful for us is that all our ”friends” in the region will have to get used to a heavy, day by day IAF presence in the skies above Lebanon-Syria. …And the skies are not the limit.

  5. Israeli-Iranian proxy war in Syria is coming out of the shadows as Israel bombs Hezbollah targets in Syria, set to mobilize ground forces confronting the recent Iranian deployment near the Israeli-Lebanese-Syrian border triangle, following Obama’s declaration that US boots on the ground in Syria are unlikely.
