‘Hacktivist Anonymous,’ a group of international hackers, has promised to ‘erase Israel from the internet’ in a coordinated attack against the country on April 7.
A hacker, who adopted the pseudonym ‘Anon Ghost,’ initiated the event and named it #OpIsrael, according to the Arabian Gazette on Wednesday.
Many more known hacktivists, notorious for carrying out state-targeted attacks, are supporting the campaign. One hacking team told The Hackers Post website their reason for participation; “Israel isn’t stopping human rights violations. It’s to show solidarity with newly recognized Palestinian state.”
Israel has taken the threats seriously, especially since several state-run websites have already been affected, subsequently, defensive preparations are already underway.
Officer Ben Avi, Director of online webpage Accessible Government, told Israeli news source Haaretz, “what distinguishes this plan when compared to previous attacks is that it really seems to be organized by Anonymous-affiliated groups from around the world in what looks like a joining of forces.”
The first #OpIsrael cyber-attacks were launched by the hacktivist group during Israeli’s Pillar of Defense assault on Gaza in November 2012.
Some 700 Israeli websites have already fallen victim to repeated cyber-attacks, including high-profile government systems such as the Foreign Ministry and the Israeli President’s official website.
The Israeli Finance Ministry reported an estimated 44 million unique attacks on government websites, according to online media source RT on Wednesday.
The Hacktivist group has also posted personal data of 5000 Israeli officials, containing names, I.D. numbers and personal emails.
Anon Ghost told The Hackers Post, “the hacking teams have decided to unite against Israel as one entity…Israel should be getting prepared to be erased from the internet.”

1.Iranian cyber ”agitators” are standing behind this new anti-Semitic initiative. We cannot eradicate Israel from the face of the earth? No problem, we’ll try to eliminate the jewish state from the internet.
2.Like all the other Iranian propaganda ridiculous trying, this last one will also bite the dust.
3.The new war on the cyber space, which begun a couple of years ago (”or so”) is clearly entering in high gear, and not only against Israel. Look no further than North Korea, South Korea, China and the mighty USA. What is going on there if not war, with cyber rogue attacks, open nuclear threats and military tensions reaching an all time high?

I don’t think these hacktivists have much of a chance. Here is why, from an article I wrote three years ago
http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2010/09/is_stuxnet_the_new_ultra.html
Is stuxnet just the tip of the iceberg? Will computer know-how play the same role Ultra played in the Second World War? Let’s hope so. Is the ingenuity, innovation and chutzpah that made the Israeli computer revolution possible now being utilized to counter the Iranian threat? Apparently.
There is a difference. The scientific and technological achievement of both sides during Word War II was comparable. Britain had the radar and Alan Turing, the Americans the Manhattan project. The Germans had Karl Zuse, who invented the first electro-mechanical computer and Wernher von Braun. Today the difference is between a country (or countries) that virtually invented the technology and one that is still leaning how to use it. Let’s hope that this difference will prove crucial.

The term ‘Hacktivists’ is misleading.
The correct term is cyber terrorists.
We are living in an age of deceit where the media intentionally manipulates the perception of reality by redefining the language.
An activist sounds positive, right?
An activist who does just a litlle hacking. Not really bad, right?
They have four things in common with former terrorists.
These unelected unlegitimized scumbags declare their personal goals to be the goals of society pretending that these goals have the common good as an aim.
Thinking that they are above the law and that the ends justify the means they use destructive, violent methods which can have the same effect as physical attacks.
