Israel has shown over and over again it does not have the stomach for a down and dirty bloody fight.
The terrorist know that once the diplomats wedge themselves into the
situation Israel will hide behind them. Hamas will now keep firing knowing full well
weak kneed Israel will fold and they then can claim victory! Netanyahu and the group
of nine are all cut from the same cloth!

I think JP is right, but only if you substitute the words ‘international community’ for ‘Israel’. The Israelis don’t have to go in on the ground to prove anything. A campaign of ‘carpet bombing’ will do nicely. Unfortunately, the ‘International Community of Insane Srutiny’ will kick in and go ballistic while calling for war crime charges. Nope, you cannot fight a real war anymore. All we can hope for is a slowly mounting body count, risings costs in property damage, lost opportunities in life, and long term endangerment of our children.

Israel should have went in yesterday at the lastest, now it seems a ceasefire could happen within hours, to me it still seems hard to believe but we can only wait and see. The IDF wanted to go in and finish the job but the political leadership shit themselves.

BeBe also has an election and dead soldiers without a REAL end to Hamas dead soldiers would not help him with the voters–Morsi and Hamas do not have rational voters to please, just the flotsam of history. If the IDF took out 80-90% of the missiles then it takes one front away from the Iranians. This is also a test of how far obama (lower case intentional) will allow Israel to go in dealing with its enemies. The real winner is Iron Dome. I am sure a thorough analysis will lead to software upgrades that will allow it to defeat salvo and decoy launches. The best play would be for all the Hamas big shots to come out of their bunker and start making speeches and declaring victory only to have a nice 2K bomb obliterate the whole stinking lot of them.
