    Nostradamus :

    Century 9 verse 48
The great city of the maritime ocean
Surrounded by a swamp of crystal
In the winter solstice and spring
Will be tried by a dreadful wind

We all are praying for the people of America.

Praying, yes. Nostradamus?! Gimmee a break, Luis!

I will not argue here about Nostradamus and some of his predictions which were shockingly accurate, but I will say only this :

That specifically quatrain was generally known to be referred at New York and now , when the ”storm of the century” is about to strike , its meaning is more transparent.

Having been through more hurricanes than I care to recall, these folks are in for a real beating. I find it extremely careless when the media has a reporter actually standing in the surf giving the latest update on an approaching storm. This happens down here too. Man, when that eye-wall approaches, the winds are so intense it will scare the hell out of you. Standing anywhere is not only impossible but dangerous as hell like when the neighbors tin sheeted roof starts flying around like a knife throwing contest gone bad. Don’t be fooled into a false sense of security people. These storms mean business and even a Cat 1 will change your life. Just hope that the storm moves quickly and doesn’t sit on you any extended period of time.

Afterward, the clean up begins. My God, the clean up. No electricity and no heat (AC down here) for weeks. Debris everywhere, damages homes, clogged streets, etc. It’s not a pretty sight. All I can say is be safe and evacuate if possible. Just be prepared for delays in returning home and seeing what’s left.

One last thing. New Orleans was worth rebuilding after Katrina. Your cities are worth it too. Don’t let anyone say otherwise.

    Good luck.

As a child, I was evacuated from Fire Island NY when hurricane Donna hit. Later, while crossing the Atlantic on the first “Queen Elizabeth,” we sailed through the center of a hurricane. 80 foot waves. Luckily the ship was almost 1K feet length.

Thank you for your kind thoughts. We still have no power, but we count ourselves lucky. More than a few of our friends and acquaintances have been very unfortunate. Once we get our power, water and sewage 100%, we can start rebuilding.
