For What it’s Worth-10-24-2012 Part 1 – YouTube.

A series of vids I hope to make on a daily basis regarding stories posted on “A Sclerotic Goes to War.”

Topics covered include:

1. The 80 rockets that have fallen since last night and the government’s response.
2. Sudan claims Israel bombed it’s arms factory.
3. Obama’s “Romnesia” focus is clever but likely to backfire.

Any and all feedback in the comments on this post would be most appreciated.

“When 80 rockets fall, it’s not optimal.” All kidding aside, you ask what your readers think what is motivating Hamas. For lack of better information, I’ll choose a simple explanation. The US is locked in a battle for the White House, Obama’s support for Israel is at an all-time low, and Hamas is simply pushing Israel to a new level of tolerance.

Of course that’s just my opinion. I could be entirely wrong.

I’m as stumped as you are that Netenyahu is stalling. As to why Hamas is racheting up it’s rocket count, I think it probably is because Netenyahu is talking, but not doing. Everything is talk, talk, talk. Perhaps it has something to do with Obama’s love affair with the Muslim Brotherhood, and the money he’s funnelled their way. I think they love it when he says “Islam is a religion of peace”. Obama has emboldened many of the radical Islamic groups not just there, but around the world. He is weak, the Brotherhood is laughing all the way to the bank and yes, Obama’s ideals have led to some completely stupid decisions.

On Mitt Romney, sad to say, a lot of my fellow- Americans do NOT realize he’s a flip-flopper. They actually believe that just because he is claiming certain positions now, he means it. Their memories are short, and they don’t bother to check his voting record. I don’t understand that either.

Unfortunately, Mr. Wouk, I am not sure you guys there in Israel are going to be any better off if Romeny wins. He’s talking a good game, but I don’t think it’s wise for Netenyahu to trust him, despite the fact that the U. S. Congress stands behind Israel, as do a great majority of Americans.

I figured when Bibi actually dissolved the Knesset, that he was preparing to make a move, but now I’m wondering why the gamble?

    Thanks for keeping us posted!

Would it not be right to assume that Netanyahu & Barak are choosing what they and their super smart advisers, (who have all the cards available on the table) are convinced is the best thing to do right now? Did you expect a bombing flight to Sudan? My point, they have a different ‘info, planning and action desk’ than us. There are all kinds of things on their ‘desk’ which we don’t know and probably make us sleep better. Doesn’t sound clever and I am not saying rockets falling on your land is acceptable but do you think they are not going to act in the interest of Israel? I think there are times when the best action is no action despite the truly difficult circumstances.

My sentiments exactly. There’s a lot we don’t know and if Netayahu based his decisions on what we know, well..heaven help us. But it sure would be interesting to hear what goes on behind all those closed doors. But then again, I also like to sleep at night.

Regarding the bombing run to Sudan, you think Tehran got the message? According to Debkafile, “Its (Israeli) air force flew 1,800-1,900 kilometers to reach the Sudanese arms factory, a distance longer than the 1,600 kilometers to the Iranian underground enrichment site of Fordo.” You gotta love it.
