JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Moments after reiterating his criticism of the Obama administration for its handling of the diplomatic crisis unfolding in Libya and Egypt, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney attacked the president on another foreign-policy front, telling supporters at his campaign office in Florida that he couldn’t “imagine ever saying ‘No’ ” to a request for a meeting with the Israeli prime minister.
The comment came a day after the Israeli news media reported that President Obama could not find time in his schedule to meet with Benjamin Netanyahu when the prime minister travels to the United Nations in New York City later this month.
“I can’t ever imagine, if the prime minister of Israel asked to meet with me, I can’t imagine ever saying ‘No,’ ” Romney said while shaking hands with supporters. “They’re our friends, they’re our closest allies in the Middle East.”
Trying to temper a potential controversy, Obama called Netanyahu on Tuesday evening and the two spoke for over an hour, according to the White House.
“President Obama and Prime Minister Netanyahu reaffirmed that they are united in their determination to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, and agreed to continue their close consultations going forward,” the White House said in a statement after the phone call.
The statement also disputed the assertion that the president had refused to meet with Netanyahu, saying that although a meeting in New York could not be arranged, there was “never a request for Prime Minister Netanyahu to meet with President Obama in Washington, nor was a request for a meeting ever denied.”
Romney has frequently criticized the Obama administration’s relations with Israel on the campaign trail, recently saying that the president has “thrown Israel under the bus.”

Oh what a shocker,,,Romney who has had a long relationship with Bibi uses this incident to show how much of a suck up he is for the Jewish vote- in Florida no less.Many of those who write on here have no clue about US politics or how disgustingly corrupt it has become especially in Florida where they like to keep colored folk from even getting to the polls.Maybe Obama is getting sick of Bibi and has a election to win ?? Those of you who are so quick to want to bomb Iran do not have a clue as to the outcome of such an action.I think its time to revisit our relationship with Israel and push Israel to come to the UN and admit they have the bomb.We can still be allies but Israel must come clean on this issue before anything concrete will come of it.
Iran has made this point on several occasions and every time they’re ignored.They asked to be sold the materials to have medical grade fission materials for research and have been snubbed at Israels insistent pressure. Many of us in the US do NOT want another war.Our economy cant take another war let alone in a country so vast that it would take ground troops and another regime change and thousands of dead soldiers who just want nothing more than to just come home finally and be with they’re families.If this scenario had happened prior to operation freedom(what a joke) then maybe the situation would be different.However a majority of US generals and a majority of Israeli military analyst say the same thing.This would be foolish and suicidal.There has to be another way besides war.

The naïveté of the West is stunning. The Mullahs in Iran have their heads full of Allah and Devine intervention.
They see the West as crumbling, and the Arab awakening as signs of Allah’s Devine intervention toward the ultimate goal of the global Caliphat. The words and deeds of men are less than meaningless to them.
Those waiting and hoping Iran will come around because of sanctions are fools and Chamberlin’s progeny.
Appeasement is always the cowards way out, hoping and wringing of hands praying that maybe just maybe evil will change its stripes. It never does!
The West waited and waited hoping Hitler would be sated.
He never was, he wanted it all. He saw the West as worms for their reticence. Tens of millions died in WWII because Hitler was not dealt with sooner.
The evil that were the Nazis has resurrected itself in the form of Radical Islam. Radical Islam is just a virulent an evil as were the Nazi. They also want it all, and this time if not stopped will have atomics! How many will die this go around due to reticence and a failure of leadership.

As we speak, the press is attacking Romney for criticising Obama’s apology regarding the ‘insulting’ nature of the Mohammad film. Judging by the coverage, they are more concerned about Romney that Obama’s complete and utter failure to lead.
