Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman said he is satisfied with the European oil embargo on Iran that began in earnest on Sunday.

In an interview with Israel Radio, Liberman said that Iran is beginning to feel the pressure from the oil embargo and other international sanctions as is evidenced by the start of major military maneuvers on Monday.

On Sunday, Iran announced it would hold a three-day drill that will include firing various strategic missiles at mock “foreign bases.”

Liberman predicted that within a month or two the Iranians will be forced to face up to the unrelenting position of the international community that opposes Iran obtaining nuclear weapons.

The foreign minister, who on Sunday traveled to Italy for an official visit, said that at the end of three rounds of talks held over Iran’s nuclear research program it is clear to the world powers that Tehran is just playing for time in an effort to complete as much development as possible in the time it has left.

Regarding Egypt, Liberman said Israel must respect the choice of Egyptian people and give credit to the new government, while keeping a close eye on developments

“Foreign minister says Tehran playing for time in nuclear talks but within a month or two will have to face up to the determination of the international community”

Mr. Liberman seems to live in a parallel universe. If anything, a large part of ‘the international community’, led by China and India and closely followed by Brazil, Russia, Venezuela, Turkey and a host of other countries, is determined to undermine the US imposed sanctions in any way they can. Within a month or two, the Iranians and their allies will have found ways around the sanctions, Iranian oil tankers will sail under new flags, their trackers disabled, insured by the Chinese government, and payments covered by Swiss banks. As I wrote several times before, it will be “the West” against the rest, and ‘the West’, already staring into the abyss of perpetual recessions, will lose.

It seems to us that you almost are wishing that to happen.
Get this : if those sorry sanctions won’t work then we will have to deal with a war here and then everybody will be missing ” the abyss of perpetual recessions ”.
Mr. Liberman is not naive : he only wants to be polite this time. He knows well what will be.

Wishing to happen? Don’t you read the news? Everything I wrote IS already happening:

    WASHINGTON
Tanzania must stop re-flagging Iran tankers: US lawmaker

WASHINGTON – Tanzania must stop the practice of “re-flagging” Iranian oil tankers or it will face the threat of U.S. sanctions and damage its ties with Washington, a U.S. lawmaker warned on Friday.

    ~~

The Japanese parliament has approved government insurance cover of up to $7.6 billion for each tanker which carries Iranian crude to the country. Meanwhile China offered Iran use of its tankers for delivery in order to secure at least a part of its oil supply.

Iran, India Sign Trade Deals to Skirt Sanctions
MUMBAI—An Iranian trade delegation to India has sealed deals to buy shipments of rice, sugar and soybeans from the South Asian country, as part of a plan for Tehran to use such pacts to get around U.S. financial sanctions on its oil shipments.

    ~~

Regarding your “Get this: if those sorry sanctions won’t work then we will have to deal with a war “, I can only repeat what I have said for a very long time:

Get this: there will not be any war. The US will not attack Iran without solid proof that Iran is working on a nuclear weapon. The US will not attack Iran without the backing of the UNSC. Israel will not attack Iran without the US support.

Mr. Liberman is not being polite, he never has been and he never will be. He knows as well as me that if the sanctions don’t work, which is already very clear, nothing will happen. It boggles my mind that he dares to predict that “within a month or two the Iranians will be forced to face up to the unrelenting position of the international community” while it is blatantly obvious that there is no “international community” and the EU embargo will not change Iran’s position.

Renbe is right on a few things. These sanctions will not work, what they will do is push fuel prices up in the EU. This raising already high transportation costs. A weight the teetering EU economy will not handle well. At the same time Iran will be selling all the oil it can muster to others who do not support the sanctions. Learning that they do not need the west as customers.

If Israel has intel that shows them Iran is working on a bomb, and feel that they are in real jeopardy they will attack. It wont matter what the US does. For Iran this whole thing is about bringing the Imam back. Since that is the case western logic is out the window.

I don’t always agree with Renbe’s comments but this time he’s unfortunately right, I’ve been reading articles regarding this topic from numerous websites around the world & spoken to past professors & likeminded friends. The United Nations has become the step-child of the League of Nations, with its ineffectiveness & inability to resolve serious issues (i.e. Syrian conflict….which is borderline genocide) among others. Each of the 5 permanent members of the security council + Germany have their own agenda’s & so do the “BRICS” countries…let’s not forget Japan too. With the current global depression/recession only getting worse, which has allowed or I should say, is the main reason why the Iranian’s have been able to get away with their blatantly apparent drive towards nuclear weaponization & only the uninformed or the foolish would say otherwise. The Iranian’s are a clever nation, deceitfully playing their political games, saying “yes” or “stalling” when need be but it’s also this same cleverness that’ll allow them to weather the storm of the West’s embargo finding ways around it. So unless the “Muslim” in charge in America grows a set or Israel wants to go it alone, dragging the West into a huge regional war & further destroying the global economy, no war is going to happen. If this does happen, if war can not be averted, we’ll all be in the “Greater Depression” but then again the IRONY of how history repeats itself. Look at what got the US & the world out of the “Great Depression”…none other than WW2 & this could become WW3 if sound minds don’t prevail.
