Sources of Washington quote President Donald Trump as commenting recently: “Rex just doesn’t get it, he’s totally establishment in his thinking.” In an interview with Fox News’s Chris Wallace Sunday night, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson commented flatly: ”The president speaks for himself,” when asked if the president’s “both sides” comment on Charlottesville represented American values. He was the third senior cabinet member to distance himself from Trump’s response.
Some Washington insiders suggest that UN Ambassador Nikki Haley may be in line to replace Tillerson, with Deputy Secretary National Security Adviser Dina Powell possibly promoted to Haley’s job in New York.
