US president Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shake hands after giving final remarks at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem before Trump’s departure, on May 23, 2017.
U.S. President Donald Trump declared Tuesday afternoon in an historic speech at the Israel Museum in Jerusalem, “The ties of the Jewish people to this holy land are ancient and eternal. They date back thousands of years, including to King David, whose star now flies proudly on Israel’s flag.”
The American president underlined, “No one should teach their boys and girls to hate and kill.”
And he was fearless in naming “Hamas and Hezbollah” as terrorist groups, even as he described how “ISIS targets Jewish neighbors,” and how “Iran’s leaders routinely call for Israel’s destruction.
“Not.with.Donald.J.Trump.” he underlined to deafening applause.
