Today (Friday), Hamas tested 32 rockets by launching them into the sea. These tests further prove that the terrorist organization is still attempting to improve its rocket capabilities, despite the fact that Egypt has increased its efforts to thwart attempts to smuggle weapons from the country into Gaza.
Due to Egypt’s measures, Hamas has been forced to establish a local military industry by using dual-use materials and chemicals that can still be smuggled into Gaza. Just last month, it was reported that the Crossings Authority and Shin Bet foiled an attempt to smuggle supplies and weapons for creating rockets and building tunnels into Gaza. The shipment that was seized at the Tarkumiya Crossing near Hebron was intended for terrorist organizations in Gaza, according to suspicions.
The last time a rocket was fired from Gaza into Israel was in May, when a rocket fell in an open field in Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council. No injuries or damages were caused by this rocket.
