One Israeli was killed and at least three others wounded in a stabbing attack in southern Tel Aviv Thursday afternoon.

Two of the wounded were rushed to a hospital with moderate to serious injuries and a third person was lightly hurt in the attack, according to Magen David Adom director Eli Bin.

Initial reports say two attackers may have been involved. One is said to have been caught by passersby, while police are pursuing another.

The incident took place in the Panorama office building, next to an entrance to a synagogue next to the parking lot as afternoon prayers were taking place, according to reports from the scene.

Workers in the large office building were told to stay inside and lock their doors as police hunted for the second possible attacker.

The stabbing is likely a terrorist attack, say officials, but the motive is not yet confirmed.

The identity of the fatality was not immediately released. Bin said paramedics were forced to confirm his death at the scene.

The attacker taken into custody was lightly wounded, Bin told Army Radio.

He has been evacuated as well, and is being hospitalized under the supervision of security forces.

Police have closed off streets leading to the site. Those in the office building were told by police to lock themselves in their offices.
