The global terrorist organization Al Qaeda has also been taking alarming steps in Syria, following their successes in Iraq across the border.

The World Cup has opened and in Syria, the Syrian Opposition is trying to take advantage of the global event in order to draw attention to their activities, by distributing a poster a day before the opening game in Brazil.

Instead of a soccer ball, there is an image of a grenade in defiance of the world that is indifferent to the atrocities taking place in Syria, as if the bloody Syrian Civil War were a soccer match.

What may draw attention to Syria in the coming days is perhaps not this provocative campaign, but rather the alarming rate at which Al Qaeda is taking over Syria.

Following their rapid success in recent days in Iraq, Al Qaeda has registered progress in taking over a number of communities on the other side of the border in Deir Ez Zur in Syria. Now, all of Syria fears another Al Qaeda outpost, aside from the Iraqi-Syrian border.
