With the APAM multipurpose round the Merkava has a round that can be used for 4 different needs.
– Take out anti tank squads by releasing 6 smaller charges that burst in sequence over the enemy squad.
– Shoot through walls and then detonate inside taking out the enemies.
– Explode all charges on impact creating BIG holes in walls.
– Shoot down helicopters

The Iron Fist is an active protection system detecting and neutralizing incoming threats like RPGs and other tank-killing weapons.
It first tries to jam the incoming threat.
If that fails it simply shoots a round that explodes near the incoming threat.
This system creates an invisible shield around the tank or any other vehicle that is protected by it.

The Merkava – a wonderful symbol and proof of the might and the determination of the jewish nation to defend itself ! 65 tons of great jewish steel and high-tech telling all the world : ” NEVER AGAIN – NEVER ! ” Combined with the hands of Israels God guiding, empowering and protecting those who drive it, it will cause havoc among those who attack Israels ! Am Israel chai ! ( Coincidence…. ? Some days ago, my wife gave me a plastic model of the Merkava as my birthday present – together with my son I’m about to put it together and I said to him : maybe one day you will be driving a Merkava….)
