Tomorrow we will here a statement from iran and the palestinians that they regonize the state of Israel as a an independent democratic free state and the homeland for the Jews.
And that they will stop whit there nuke program and will not send rockets to Israel anymore.
General Allen can go home .

PS: but Israel needs a better air defense again rockets according kerry, mm, strange.

It remains to be seen if this is the usual diplomatic lingo to present a picture of agreement while there are big disagreements.
The US desastministration pretents that their final goal is to prevent Iran from getting nuclear military capabilities.
Of course Bibi would agree to that. The difference though is how both define this goal. Up to now Bibi defined this goal as complete dismantling of Iran’s enrichment. If he says something different in the coming days then he has indeed shifted away from this position.
If he goes with the flow, Israel is indeed screwed because that means the Iranians will get their nukes.

It was
“We agreed on what the goal of the final status agreement ought to be.”
I hope you see the difference.
In any case, it seems to me that Israel has agreed to wait until that final deal is signed.
No attack in the next six to twelve months, which is bad because Israel will be betrayed and screwed again after that time by Obavez and worse the Iranians may cross the line during that time.
It is also predictable that any final deal with the Iranians will be bad for Israel.
Either Bibi has been completely checkmated or he is playing the very dangerous game of waiting for an Iranian mistake.
Hoping for your enemy to make a mistake, as I said before, is a bad, bad strategy unless you are forcing and provoking your enemy to make such mistakes. There are many ways to do it.
But I’m afraid that Bibi is simply unable to cope with the fact that the US foreign policy has shifted fundamentally.
He clings to the alliance with the US when the US under Obavez has decided to throw Israel under the bus.
To change that situation requires a different strategic thinking which I hope I can explain another time

Possessing a military nuclear capacity is a cornerstone of this Iranian regime’s thinking.
They have starved their country and invested billions to get it. They want it for reasons of regional dominance, control of the Gulf and, primarily, to negate the world’s ability to tell it what to do. It gives them deterrence, incredible leverage on the international stage and strategic parity with the world powers.

Absolutely correct Joop. And they will openly make nuclear threats against those who do not comply with their demands until some other country gets the courage to stand up to them and risk a nuclear engagement. Iran would not back down. To do so would be to negate decades of nuclear development and sacrifice.
