Iran is trying to negotiate a partial deal with the West that would lift international sanctions, while still allowing Tehran to pursue a nuclear weapon, Prime Minister Netanyahu warned in an interview Sunday.

“I think the pressure has to be maintained on Iran, even increased on Iran, until it actually stops the nuclear program, that is, dismantles it,” Netanyahu told NBC’s Meet the Press. “I think you don’t want to go through half-way measures.

“Suppose Syria said, ‘Well, you know, we’re going to dismantle 20 percent [of our chemical weapons], so give us the easing of sanctions’ — nobody would buy that,” he added. “That’s exactly what Iran is trying to do. They’re trying to give a partial deal that they know could end up dissolving the sanctions regime and would keep them with the nuclear weapons capabilities.”

Netanyahu was responding to a report that in the wake of last week’s negotiations in Geneva, President Barack Obama was considering releasing Iranian assets worth billions if Iran takes steps to curb its nuclear program.

Netanyahu elaborated that he was firmly against any such move because Iran was still committing the actions that brought about the sanctions.

“As far as I remember, those assets were frozen for three reasons,” he said. “One, Iran’s terrorist actions; two, its aggressive actions particularly in the [Persian] Gulf; and three, its continued refusal to stop the production of weapons of mass destruction. You know, if you get all three done and they stop doing it, well then, I suppose you could unfreeze them.”

Netanyahu also stressed that while the international community had adopted firm UN Security Council resolutions calling on Iran to dismantle the aspects of its program allegedly aimed at producing a nuclear weapon, Iran insisted on maintaining them.

“Nobody challenges Iran or any country’s pursuit of civilian nuclear energy, but 17 countries in the world, including your neighbors Mexico and Canada, have very robust programs for civilian nuclear energy, but they don’t enrich with centrifuges and they don’t have heavy water reactors,” he said. “Why do you insist on maintaining a plutonium heavy water reactor and on maintaining centrifuges that can only be used for making nuclear weapons? And the answer is because they want to have residual material for making nuclear weapons.”

Iran is reportedly willing to stop enriching uranium to 20 percent and “greatly restrict” activity at its nuclear facilities in exchange for a lifting of Western sanctions. Netanyahu wants Iran’s entire “military nuclear” capacity dismantled, including all enrichment capacities.

The interviewer also asked Netanyahu if he’d prefer that President Bashar Assad remain in power in Syria rather than allow an Islamist regime to take over.

“No,” the prime minister replied. “I certainly don’t. I mean, I don’t think Assad is in power. I think Iran is in power, because basically, Syria has become an Iranian protectorate. Iran’s henchmen, Hezbollah, are doing the fighting for Assad, for his army.

“We want to end it in the best way, that we don’t have either an Iranian protectorate or a jihadist regime, a la Afghanistan, in Syria.”

Also appearing on Meet the Press was US Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew, who said it was too early to talk about easing sanctions on Iran.

“It is premature to talk about the easing. I think the sanctions are working, and that is why the discussions have started. We need to see that they [the Iranians] are taking the steps to move away from having nuclear weapons capacity,” he said. “We need to see real, tangible evidence of it. And we will not make moves on the sanctions until we see those kinds of moves [from Tehran].”

I read the late comments here and I must say: chapeau!, especially for David elaborated comment. The harsh tone and style regarding Netanyahu are also in place, in my view, because continuing now to talk hard and doing nothing its not in Israel’s best interest. Netanyahu, a PM of a country in a difficult position might appear pathetic now, when all are partying, he was not invited and is continuing to yell from outside the door. Is even unpleasant. Not a very good position, to say the least. So what Israel can do? Lets refer, for a start, to the EMP solution, long debated here, risen here for the first time by Joseph Wouk and being back here from time to time, this time with the courtesy of David, in his very elaborated comment.
But, what an EMP preemptive strike really is? Has Israel the capability to deliver such a blow? And if yes, can Israel afford it?

An EMP strike is, in essence, exploding a nuclear device at a certain altitude above a target zone, with the immediate effects of terminating the power grid inside the target zone and more secondary effects. Israel has the capability to deliver such a strike, by using the long range Jericho missiles which are in its arsenal and arming them with a nuclear device tip, being programed to explode above Iran, at a certain altitude and delivering a strong Electromagnetic Pulse(EMP), which will cook all the electronic devices inside the chosen area.
That will leave Iran extremely vulnerable to the incoming attacks, which can be executed with conventional means.
The question is, can Israel afford to itself that such a blow been delivered? ”What is here to afford” one might ask. I’ll explain you why such a situation will not happen. As long as an EMP strike is implying the explosion of a nuclear device, even at high altitude, is still been considered as an unconventional strike, of nuclear nature.
In this situation, nobody in Israel can predict what the attitude of the Russians will be. So I don’t think that Israel will deliver an EMP preemptive strike in such a form.
But Israel can use carbon fibre devices ammo which, after been delivered, can paralyzed (shutdown) the electrical power grid in Iran, without using nuclear devices. This new type of warfare is little known actually, but it was used in the past (in Serbia and Iraq, for example).
So Israel can obtain the main result of an EMP, without using a nuclear device ( a clean EMP ). However, we are now questioning the will and the resolve of the Israeli leadership for taking such actions, knowing that the US will not having its back ( in fact, the US will be far, far in the back ). We’ll be back later with proper military analysis of conducting operations after a clean EMP campaign was executed if the readers will be interested.

    And we have also this:http://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/RestOfAsia/Signs-of-rift-between-Israel-and-US-over-Iran/Article1-1137810.aspx

A quote from this article is self telling : “The chance it(Israel) will act alone after the Americans make a deal is miniscule.”

We have the same feeling, but hey, let a man still hope. And may be, just may be, this can be t h e surprise, after all – acting when all think you are a noisy sorry coward.

Hi Luis, and other writers here. People need to get Bibi to get rid of Irans nuclear programs before Iran and the world sign a deal with Iran about its nuclear program.

1st. Iran will keep lying about its nuclear program, like its been for the last 20 years+, so it cant be trusted.

2nd. The negotiations news has already shown that the world will sign a deal that will be bad for Israel, Saudi Arabia, and other muslim countries, who will also get nuclear weapons.

3rd. Israel will be attacked with nuclear explosives, it might not be missiles, etc., but suicide bombers with nuclear explosives surgically implanted inside them, and there has been cases of suicide bombers caught that had nuclear material surgically implanted inside them.

And sadly, yes, these suicide bombers will get inside Israel, just as the Iranian spy that was finally caught, but has snuck in and out of Israel many times, until he was finally caught. So some of the suicide bombers will be caught but some won’t, and 1 or 2 nuclears explosives blowing up Israel could destroy 50 – 75% of Israel. Even is Israel has second strike ability to retaliate, it will still be half destroyed or more, its very sad to think this would happen, so people need to act now and get Bibi to take out Irans nuclear program now.

All the writers here are great, but if all everybody is doing is just writing to this blog, then thats not going to help Israel.

We need to use our skills and talents to write to media outlets in Israel, and international media outlets, yahoo postings, government officials, organise citizens groups to have demonstrations to demonstrate to Bibi and the world, the support for Bibi and the Israeli military to take out Irans nuclear program now.

Show Bibi that Israeli citizens support him to take out Irans nuclear program now. Bibis an excellent leader, and a great speaker, but all his great speeches wont effect the world and wont save Israel.

As soon as the world signs a deal with Iran, then all the worlds satellites will be guarding Iran, observing Israels military actions even more intensily then it has in the past. Russia will deliver the s300 defence missiles to Iran, maybe even the s400 or s500, that Russia wont tell anyone about, and most countries will see Israel as the aggressor and will protect Iran in anyway possible.

We agree with what the writer David wrote on October 20 here on this blog, below we reposted his message he wrote, thank you David for writing it. The world will sign a worthless piece of paper deal that Iran will use just to keep making nuclear explosives of all types, and the other Muslim countries will do the same, then the nuclear suicide attacks will be from many muslim countries, not just Iran.

    Thank you, Smiley.
    ===================================
    From David from Oct 20:
Chamberlain came back from Munich with a worthless piece of paper and said “It’s peace in our time.” Obama, Ashton and Sherman didn’t even come back with a piece of paper! No matter. Tell one and all: It’s peace in our time! With Iran it’s going to be like a Chinese restaurant: With column B you get egg roll! We could make a bomb out of 3.5% enriched uranium using our new advanced centrifuges. You know like? Then we can make a bomb with plutonium at our heavy water plant in Arak! It’s your choice! With column B you get egg roll!

Ask yourself this: Do Obama, Sherman or Ashton even KNOW what enrichment or heavy water ARE? Do they even have a clue? What is uranium tetrafluoride? What is uranium hexafluoride? What’s uranium conversion? What’s the difference between refining and enriching uranium? How does heavy water allow production of plutonium from even UNENRICHED uranium? How many know that plutonium can make a bomb that is lighter and easier to put on a missile? How many understand that the Gaza flotilla was for the purpose of creating a shipping corridor ultimately to bring a heavier, uranium bomb to Israel, too heavy for a missile? Never mind! Declare peace in our time! Have some tea and crumpets! The Iranians were VERY POLITE!

The Lubavitcher Rebbe said that emotion is important because it’s a conduit through which intellect leads to action. But never mind. We must be VERY VERY CALM. If Israel stops hiding under the desk at the thought of using unconventional weapons it has the means to deal with all the threats, from Iran and from its proxies.

To Smiley from Luis : please read my last comment as an answer to my friend Artaxes. There you’ll find what I really think about the actual situation. Regards.

Dear Luis, we understand what you wrote, and you made a great point. The technology carbon fibre devices ammo which, after been delivered, can paralyzed (shutdown) the electrical power grid, has been around for many years now, and it is a really good idea.

What we were trying to point out, is that most writers on this blog, want Israel to get rid of the Iranian nuclear threat, that threatens Israel, and its Muslim neighbouring countries. And if Iran even appears to have achieved nuclear weapons ability, then Israel will have to worry about all the muslim countries getting nuclear explosives, and many of them will try to use them againts Israel.

We mentioned that the Iranian spy that was caught recently in Israel, has snuck in and out of Israel many times for many years, so other spies and their accomplices can also do that.

We also mentioned that Muslim terrorists have been caught in countries other then Israel, and they had nuclear material surgically implanted in their bodies.

So Israel might be attacked with nuclear suicide bombers, and if spies and their accomplices are sneaking in and out of Israel, then those nuclear suicide bombers will get in also, some of them will be caught and some won’t, just like previous suicide bombers that murdered Israelis.

Israel is only 50 km wide at some parts, and most of it is skinner, which is about 30 minute drive east to west. Its only 8 hour drive South to North if there was a straight road. Its a beautiful country, but very tiny, that could be sadly 50% destroyedi or more with 1 or 2 nuclear suicide bombers.

We only want the writers on this blog to use their great writing skills to contact other people, network, and get networking with as many people as possible, and get everybody doing that. Get everyone to write and send emails to Israeli and international media, and youtube info videos.

Maybe people should get email petitions going, group meetings, rallies, etc.

Look not everybody can be in the combat division of the Israeli army or any army, but there are computer programers in the Israeli army programing division writing virus codes to disable Israels enemies computers or nuclear plants.

There are many great writers on this blog, and its great many people here are writing, but besides writing here, we need to rally together in the streets of Israel and abroad, contact all the media, and if nothing else, then at least hopefully it would be a positive effect on Bibi, to stop talking, and take out Irans nuclear program now.

After the world signs a deal with Iran, Russia, and many other countries will deliver many types of high tech weapons to Iran, either public or secret sales, and world satellites will be monitoring Israel more intensily then they are now, so a sneak attack by Israel will be practically impossible.

And if Iran gets nuclear explosives capabilities, other muslim countries will also, and the nuclear suicide bombers attacks on Israel will be from many countries.

People shouldnt be complacent and keep procrastinating and thinking we will take care of the Iranian nuclear program later, look how long Israel has done this, and look how bad it got.

Israel can take care of the Iranian nuclear program now, or all of Israels enemies will get nuclear explosives, and use them on Israel, and everyone needs to stop talking and do things to get Bibi to take out Irans nuclear program militarily now, no one else will.

    May God Bless Israel.

    Thank you, Smiley.
