Iran presented ‘no serious proposals’ at nuke talks, US officials tell Israel | The Times of Israel.
Minister Yuval Steinitz heading to Washington amid Israeli concern that the US will prematurely ease economic pressure on Tehran
Iran made “no serious proposals” during the two days of talks on its nuclear program in Geneva this week, senior US officials reportedly told their Israeli counterparts. The talks were “exploratory” rather than substantive, the US officials told Jerusalem, Israel’s Channel 2 news reported Friday night.
Israel, nonetheless, is wary that Iran’s position at the talks — where it is said to have offered to stop enriching uranium to 20 percent, and to convert the country’s current 20% stockpile into fuel rods, among other measures — may prompt the international community to consider partially easing economic sanctions. The New York Times said Friday that the Obama administration was weighing a graduated unfreezing of Iranian oversees assets without rescinding the sanctions themselves,
With that concern in mind, Israel’s Minister for Strategic and Intelligence Affairs, is set to travel to the US next week — both to be briefed on what was said in Geneva, and to warn Washington against being duped into premature concessions to Iran. His visit comes in the framework of the ongoing strategic dialogue between the two countries.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will also discuss the Iranian issue with US Secretary of State John Kerry when the two meet in Rome next week.
A report in Al Monitor on Friday quoted an Iranian source, with purported knowledge of the two-day talks between his country and the P5+1 countries, saying Tehran was ready to stop enriching uranium to 20%, convert its existing stockpile into fuel rods, relinquish spent fuel for the still-to-be completed Arak heavy water reactor, accept surprise inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency, and convert its Fordo underground enrichment facility into a fully-supervised research facility.
Israel’s position is that those ostensible concessions would still leave Iran with the infrastructure for a nuclear weapons program, Channel 2 reported. Netanyahu has repeatedly demanded that Iran be stripped of its entire “military nuclear” program, with Arak and Fordo closed, all capacity to enrich uranium removed, and already enriched uranium shipped out of the country.
The Al-Monitor report was denied by Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif.
Zarif also accused Israel of trying to undermine what he described as progress in Tehran’s nuclear talks with world powers. He posted on his Facebook page that “there is a high possibility the talks would be disturbed through various efforts” on the part of Israel. Zarif said these efforts reflect Israel’s “frustration and warmongering.”

Lipstick on a pig: Here’s the Geneva Photo Op Cliff Notes summary:
After the Geneva talks State Dept. court Jew Wendy Sherman talked about the PAST, how the government in Iran had CHANGED. That election sure was encouraging! Nothing about the Geneva talks. Baroness Catherine Ashton, AKA “Baroness Schraeder,” so PRIM for the camera, talked about the FUTURE, her HOPE for the upcoming weeks (doubletalk for “I got nothin'”) but refused to say what was said. Only Iran officials immediately got it down to the PRESENT and told the media: Give in to our demands. Period. No wonder the West doesn’t want to talk about what was said. But if you want, believe that it’s peace in our time! Also believe in the tooth fairy and Swiss cheese on the Moon. Sherman fairly gushed that we have “crossed the Rubicon” of direct talks. Golly! The Iranians condescended to be in the same room with us! Tell one and all: It’s peace in our time! Catherine “We-Brits-don’t-need-no-stinkin’-Jews-to-be-civilized” Ashton practically said that, why, she even gave the Iranians a cup of tea! Tea time with the Iranians! How civilized! They will turn over a new leaf for sure! And have some crumpets! The Iranians ate crumpets! Tell everyone: It’s peace in our time! That British replacement theology will SHOW those crabby Jews and solve everything! Tell the world: It’s peace in our time! The Iranians use classic negotiating strategy: Start with extreme initial positions, then throw the adversary a few crumbs and watch them come running to lick your bloody hand as it beats them.
The insanity is not only outside Israel. That Bibi is even sending Steinitz to beg for sanctions shows that he has no guts to do what has been known for years, that only Israeli bombing will stop Iran. The world won’t. Bibi still thinks he can get a quickie Reform conversion to convert Obama over the weekend into a nice Jewish accountant from Teaneck, N.J. And the moment Israel tries to bomb Iran, US intel will tell Obama who will warn the Iranians. This is why Israel can only succeed with an EMP attack because it takes only one inconspicuous missile. Additional follow up attacks would come as mopping up operations. Unless the bombing starts with an EMP Israel can kiss its ass goodbye. Bibi will NEVER do this. Machiavelli said in “The Prince,” “The harm we do to an adversary must be sufficient that we need not fear his vengeance.” This is the answer to all concerns about escalation. If the enemy is going to retaliate, you didn’t hit them hard enough at the outset. But what did Machiavelli know? Listen to Baroness Shraeder! Proclaim to the world: It’s peace in our time! Behold! Bibi sends Steinitz to grovel and beg the world. In the words of Psalm 1:1, “The praises of man are that he sat not in the sessions of scorners.” All Steinitz and Bibi can do is rush to hang out with the world and seek luv, luv, luv. This used to be called: “Fraternizing with the enemy.”
A little while ago Bibi was saying sanctions aren’t working and won’t. Now he is all over himself groveling and saying that sanctions are the answer, they’re not so bad after all, you know what, come to think of it, as a matter of fact!
Chamberlain came back from Munich with a worthless piece of paper and said “It’s peace in our time.” Obama, Ashton and Sherman didn’t even come back with a piece of paper! No matter. Tell one and all: It’s peace in our time! With Iran it’s going to be like a Chinese restaurant: With column B you get egg roll! We could make a bomb out of 3.5% enriched uranium using our new advanced centrifuges. You know like? Then we can make a bomb with plutonium at our heavy water plant in Arak! It’s your choice! With column B you get egg roll!
Ask yourself this: Do Obama, Sherman or Ashton even KNOW what enrichment or heavy water ARE? Do they even have a clue? What is uranium tetrafluoride? What is uranium hexafluoride? What’s uranium conversion? What’s the difference between refining and enriching uranium? How does heavy water allow production of plutonium from even UNENRICHED uranium? How many know that plutonium can make a bomb that is lighter and easier to put on a missile? How many understand that the Gaza flotilla was for the purpose of creating a shipping corridor ultimately to bring a heavier, uranium bomb to Israel, too heavy for a missile? Never mind! Declare peace in our time! Have some tea and crumpets! The Iranians were VERY POLITE!
The Lubavitcher Rebbe said that emotion is important because it’s a conduit through which intellect leads to action. But never mind. We must be VERY VERY CALM. If Israel stops hiding under the desk at the thought of using unconventional weapons it has the means to deal with all the threats, from Iran and from its proxies. But never mind. Bibi has no guts for that. Soon winter cloud cover will cover Iran. Don’t bomb Iran. Bibi wants sanctions!

Ask yourself, as the Caliphate forms all around Israel does anyone really believe the Islamist will leave Israel alone? Israel will literally be in the center of the Caliphate. I for one think not! For a deal, the Iranians will make sounds like they have no plans to hurt anyone and the West will be slobbering all over itself about this new “moderate Iran”. But, as soon as the world moves on to others matter and looks away. Israel will be left alone to fend for itself in middle of the hornets nest of the new Caliphate.
