God Bless the United States of America

There’s been quite a bit of discussion in the comments as to whether the disastrous Obama administration coming after the disastrous Bush administration spells the end of the United States as the leader of the world in the 21st century.
I grew up during the 18 years that my father was writing “The Winds of War” and “War and Remembrance.”
My whole being was infused with the knowledge of America’s strength to overcome seemingly insurmountable odds.
Believe it or not, things have actually been a lot worse for the US than they are now.
We beat the odds then, and with God’s help we’ll do it again…

I pray that you are right. I just wish we could have leaders who aren’t inept.

I am afraid we have not yet reached the bottom, things are going to get much worse before they get better. This generation does not know anything about history or suffering. They will have to before things can get better. Even then the US will never be what it once was

Empires must fall. America is no different- it just came a little early for us compared to others.

If we could do it then, can we do in now, trusting in the help of god in not enough.

The damage is already so far gone, that it is irreversible, you can not turn 12 years falling international politics back if nothing has happened.
Same for national politics and economics.
It is only getting worse.

The mighty core production capability from the USA is gone, there is left a hollow shell full of borrowed money
It is just a matter of time, but please let me be complete wrong

America is still here. Economically we need a government that gets its foot off the neck of small business, investors and taxpayers. America, as compared to every other country on our globe, has so much muscle and power hidden under the surface that makes the idea that we are weakening silly.
My question is can the world, not just America, survive three more years of President Obama? I strongly believe that he wants chaos because like any tinpot dictator he has no intention of leaving office unless we entice him with something bigger, like president of the world. The man terrifies me.
