The “Let the Jews pay for it” is a perfect example of deliberate misleading. The lady involved describes it as follows:
“He said to me, ‘Let the Jews pay for it’,” said Marsha Halteman, director for military and law enforcement programs at the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA), which led the battle to keep USO Haifa operational. …
“He essentially told us that if we wanted to keep the USO [in Haifa] open—and when I say ‘we’, he meant ‘the Jews’—he said the Jews could pay for it,” said Halteman, who recalled being taken aback by the comment.”
For the objective reader it is clear that Mr. Hagel most likely meant Israel, as the center is in Haifa. It is clear and 100% sure that Mr. Hagel never used the phrase “Let the Jews pay for it” but it is exactly that phrase that went viral. I googled it, the number of hits is staggering.

To me, Andrew Breitbart represented what the center of American politics should be today. If you want to see ‘fringe’, it’s in the White House.
