The IDF shot down a drone that entered Israeli air space from Syria on Sunday.
The air force fired a surface to air Patriot missile to intercept the drone, which had come from the Quneitra region in Syria, adjacent to the Israeli border.
“The IDF will not tolerate a breach of the State of Israel’s sovereignty,” the army said.
The incident came after an Israeli drone was reportedly downed in Iraq last week – the third time an unmanned aerial vehicle was shot out of the sky in the past month.
According to the Arab-language Al-Mayadeen television network, the Hermes Model drone was shot down near Baghdad Airport.
The Iranian news agency Fars reported that American Embassy personnel rushed to the site of the crashed drone to collect debris and remains.
